★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I am not one to ever make reviews, but I feel this is necessary. My husband and I have two dogs and are new to the area. Our newest dog is a puppy that we adopted from a nearby shelter, so we thought this would be a great opportunity to try a new vet. These vet techs and doctors seem to have no patience with puppies. Vet techs seemed untrained at handling the puppy to assist the doctor. The frustration was evident. Our puppy was 12 weeks old, and we were scolded for having a wiggly and squirmy puppy with energy with rude comments about our “lack of obedience and socialization” training. We even demonstrated how we are able to play with his paws and ears, but the doctors are the only ones who make him nervous. We were then handed pamphlets of at home training and a packet on cat nail trims after explaining that we work everyday with him and he truly only has anxiety at the vet. Not once did he bite or even growl. We just requested his nails to be trimmed and a routine appointment. We did not need the scolding and rude comments about our puppy’s typical puppy-like behavior. We would not recommend bringing a new puppy to this vet unless your new puppy is perfectly still and does not behave like a puppy…
June 25 · Birdie OpydWas recommended this place by a Vet Tech from another hospital for surgery for my cat. The price for the surgery was half what I was quoted at the original place. The exam rooms and waiting room was very clean looking. My cat is now recovering after surgery.
August 23 · Brandy LitzAfter moving here, i decided to give this vet a try for my 2 chihuahuas. My first visit was okay, nothing crazy, went really smoothly. My 2nd visit (6/14)with my other dog was different. I brought her in for a checkup since it was her first time there and needed a 2nd opinion with how to handle her hernia (which I didn’t really get an answer to.) I feel like the vet techs could be a bit more personable, and front staff as well. I was charged for something that was not verified by me and the front desk receptionist did not refund it, instead gave me a credit. I asked her why she couldn’t refund it to my card and she simply said “because of the rebate I just can’t, sorry.”. I was stunned, why would I want an almost $150 credit? I want it returned to my debit card after it was a mistake on their end.I had to call Monday, asked to speak with the billing manager and they were SO QUICK to return it. They didnt even need my card after all. I don’t understand what the receptionists issue was, but she was so cold, annoyed, it was a young lady with long dark hair. I am very upset with how everything was handled. the vets are great here (Dr. Chestnut), and want to help you in the best way possible with your pet, but the rest of the staff are simply not it. Very disappointed.
June 17 · Guzette EspinalI’ve taken my older rabbit here before (4 years ago) and the experience was good. However, I recently adopted a young rabbit that needed to be neutered so I called them for an estimate. They said in order for me to get an estimate, I’d have to pay for a checkup exam first. I asked if they could just give me a general idea of the cost and they said they’d ask the doctor. Didn’t hear from them so I checked in once a day for several days and they kept saying they’d let me know the following day. Eventually I just gave up! Because of the unknown pricing, I took my rabbit to a vet called All Creatures Great and Small in Downers Grove, and had a wonderful experience there and they provided clear pricing before I even scheduled the appointment. I’ll be going there from now on :)
May 03 · Kelly CAbsolutely do not bring your pet to Brookeville Animal Hospital. This place is a complete joke. They do not care about your pet’s well-being—only about how much money they can squeeze out of you. They gave us totally incorrect information over the phone, only to switch up everything once we got there. That’s not just unprofessional—it’s dangerous. One of their so-called “doctors” told us it didn’t matter what kind of Benadryl we gave our dog or how much of it we gave him—when in reality, there is a very specific type and dosage that’s safe for dogs. That kind of careless advice could seriously harm someone’s pet. I will never trust them with my dog again. If you actually care about your pet, find somewhere else—because they clearly don’t.
