★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Dr. Jason Harden is one of those DVM's that takes the time it takes. His gentle and calm nature puts Smirnoff & Kiwi at ease every time we visit. Not only do our birds like him, but we do too! We are never "rushed" out the door and always leave having every single question and concern addressed._________As far as pricing, some services are slightly more expensive than our old exotic vet, but others are less. For example: Dr. Harden's office charged me more for Smirnoff's nail trim, but the exam fee & gram stain was less than our old vet. For the same 'visit' (exam, nail trim, & gram stain) even though the nail trim was quite a bit more expensive with Dr. Harden, our total bill was $20 less. All in all, I imagine Carroll County Animal Hospital is about the same price as everyone else; however, even if it was more expensive to see Dr. Harden, we would pay it for the simple fact that he never rushes in and out, but takes his time with our birds as if they are his most important patients of the day - and since there is nothing extraordinarily 'special' about our birds (or us), I imagine that is how he is with all his patients :)
February 20 · AnnetteThe only time we have used them was when our puppy was acting very out of the ordinary and we knew something was wrong. While in the waiting area he stopped breathing and as soon as I said something to the desk there were immediately 3 people out from the back to take our puppy. They put us in a room and were very compassionate in the way the informed us and our children that they were unable to bring him back. They allowed us time to see him once they cleaned him up. I would highly recommend them. Passionate and Caring.
February 28 · James QueenMy first experience here with staff and care they gave my baby on his last time was great. I hate seeing my baby go and I had to put him to sleep, but they were very honest about the condition and made everything as comfortable as they could for him. They were very compassionate to us, I will always remember that and will be Thankyou. My boy is not suffering anymore.
January 24 · Luly GarciaEverything was great and everyone was great. I truly felt everyone there was concerned and interested in taking good care of Tacy. She means so much to us all, so we couldn't be more appreciative of the care you give her.
July 10 · Mike GallagherTook my dog here twice, first experience was great, everyone was very kind and professional! The second time I had an emergency. My dog had choked on a piece of bone and I could see it lodged in the very back of his throat. He was still breathing, but he was struggling. I panicked and rushed him to Carroll County Animal Hospital around 12 pm- 1pm. I carried him in, told the front desk what had happened and that I needed someone to check on him aaaannnddd they proceeded to ask me about his vaccinations...insistently... now obviously this was an emergency situation, I didn't have time or put in any thought to bring his medical records with me, he was still a puppy but he had almost all of his vaccines but from another vet. I told the front desk that, that I honestly did not know because I had brought him here rushed... duh. I also did not have a clear coherent mind or else I would have been able to calmly tell them all that he had, but I didn't, I was extremely scared. But they would not let it go. They continually berated me, giving me a spiel about how they had to know due to policy and that if I knew that he HAD TO HAVE all of his vaccinations as being a responsible pet owner and asked if this was my first pet. No, he was not my first pet, and yes I was well aware that he needed vaccines. I am generally a calm, collected individual. I have worked customer service for years so I know what it's like to deal with a rude customer, and I always try to resort to kindness. But I lost it. I yelled at them, informing them that I had no earthly idea about all my dogs exact vaccination history, that all I wanted was for someone to check my dog because he was choking. They proceeded to tell me that they were not seeing anyone because it was there lunch. I could sit and wait in the lobby until they were finished. From where I was standing I had a clear view into the break room in the back. I saw several vet assistants cutting up, sharing a liter of soda and making sandwiches. This has bothered me so much. I walked in with an emergency, and no one bothered to first examine my dog! Not a single vet or vet assistant walked out to check on him. They couldn't be bothered to put their lunch on hold to ensure that my dog wasn't going to die! I promptly scooped up my dog, and rushed him to another vet... My dog is totally fine, by the way. He is definitely the best dog I've ever had and I am so so grateful that he was taken care of at a different place. This happened several months ago, I did not want to leave a review and act vindictive, but it was so wrong... and it still makes me absolutely enraged thinking about it. I felt like I needed to warn others, and ultimately I would like Carroll County Animal Hospital to take responsibility. Because if you are going to have "animal hospital" as a part of your name, I would expect it to operate as such.
