August 08 · Ginger BeardenI recommend this vet to care for your animals. The only issue my husband had was after we lost our dog he was in early the next morning and one of the girls who assisted in our dogs care had tunnel vision as she asked to get past my husband and didn't remember him or mention our dog. He was bothered she didn not remember him. It was a very emotional time when we said our goodbyes. He just thought in times dealing with a loss they would be more caring. Other than that we feel our dog was taken care of.
May 28 · Gerri SmithI don’t usually post things like this, but I feel it’s important to speak up. I can no longer recommend Carroll County Animal Hospital to anyone. Over time, several friends and family members have had extremely concerning experiences there many involving the facility pushing for euthanasia prematurely.Today, I took my kitten in because it was having seizures. The vet initially said the kitten was doing better. But as I was paying, I was suddenly called into a room alone and told that my tiny kitten who literally fits in the palm of my hand “bit” the vet, and in response, he slung it across the room, causing it to pass away.I’m devastated, and I believe this behavior is completely unacceptable. Please be cautious and informed when choosing care for your pets. They rely on us to protect them.I will be filing a police report and getting an attorney because I went in for it to be having seizures. They said I was doing fine. There was no reason to do all that my kitten should still be here because right before the seizures he was running around my room, eaten playing with the other cats and everything. This is very uncalled for and this place needs to be shut down immediately.
July 31 · Brealee ShroyerOur pup was hit by a car. We were made to pay in full before they would even treat her (over 700). The two options we were given over the phone by one doctor was to put her to sleep or pay up to 15k in surgery. We took her to our family vet, and he confirmed there was no reason to put this dog to sleep and started treating her at his office. Within a week 1/2 she is walking on her own. Had we listened to their advice and put her to sleep (due to lack and quality of life, or up to 15k in surgery- by the way the surgery she will be having is no where close to that amount they quoted over the phone for her to see a specialist) we would not have our baby today. The family vet did agree on her back leg needing surgery, but agreed on NOTHING else. Makes me wonder how many pet owners had to put their pet to sleep because they didn’t go for a second opinion. I would not take a mouse to this office…Edited to respond that I HAVE called your office and spoken directly with the director. According to that phone call, the diagnosis was correct and your office even called our family vet wanting info on our pup which they would not release to you. And when they asked if we knew you all were calling, my husband responded he did not know but knew that I had called and complained and the vet said “GOOD”. He even said there was no reason to put our pup down and she’d be walking soon.
