Coastal Holistic Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The entire staff at Coastal Holistic is amazing. I was recommended them by someone after moving to California two years ago. I drive just shy of 1 hour each way to get there. They’re worth it though. I’d drive that far for a good doctor for myself. Of course I will do it for my pups, who aren’t actually pups.Dr. Molly is amazing. I cannot thank her enough for having both realistic thoughts/feedback and perfect bedside manner. Being a vet I can’t imagine is easy. Being able to navigate your clients I imagine to be harder. She has a perfect blend of Eastern and Western medicine that works for us. The staff is happy- which speaks volumes.Chiropractic and acupuncture treatments excited me, but also had me wondering. They walk out of her office shaking about. Physically looking and acting better, it’s wild to see!Coastal Holistic doesn’t need reviews, they’re amazing. If there’s a chance they have a new client opening, lucky you. Having 2 seniors (one I just lost) can be hard. I feel thankful to have Coastal Holistic as our vet. 🐾🐾❤️
August 12 · Lea EDr M, the owner of this practice, was THE best veterinary doctor, until she wasn’t. My advice is to proceed with caution & document everything you discuss in house.Had a wonderful experience here until they became too busy to keep their records straight as they ramped up to offering physical therapy in house. She was networking with me to get a friend of mine in there to lead her PT practice ( with dr oversight). We always got along and mostly agreed on all treatments my dog was given. We did weekly Chiro and acupuncture for my gsd’s knee and “spinal” injuries. Then one day, I asked for a refill of an ibd drug (the only drug that stopped my dog’s IBD symptoms and is regularly prescribed as such), Dr. M either was too busy to look at my dog’s records, or was verbally given incorrect info about a drug my dog was on, and thus yelled at me for 30 minutes, telling me I should have known she wanted my dog off this drug because it’s bad for the environment.I was unaware of her strong feelings on the topic as she never once mentioned her opinions on how it affects the environment. I tried to tell her I was tapering my dog off this medication exactly as she prescribed, “in tiny increments” because my dog is SO sensitive. Dr M said if I move too quickly her IBD might flare and to stop and hold if that happens before continuing to taper. But she kept telling me I should have just known better.During this yelling episode, I was told that I should now just cut her dose in half, then completely stop, which she was previously told would end in my dog having bloody diarrhea and severe pain. She REFUSED to help further and gave me the phone number to Sage Vet in Redwood City.By now I’m crying, because it’s been a LONG journey to find a vet I could trust. I felt like I had no options as she’s standing in her driveway, yelling at me and telling me I’m a bad pet owner. Before I left, I asked why she waited until I needed a refill before she even mentioned her qualm with this medication, she admitted this was a fair point. She then continued to tell me she hoped I didn’t think she was a “massive jerk” about her overreaction. Her words. She ended up giving me a FULL prescription of the offending drug…….. and agreed that I continue her VERY SLOW TAPER…?Uhm what? Super confusing behavior. Then she sent me on my way, with no apology, nor acknowledgement of this extremely inappropriate and unprofessional behavior.I later emailed her telling her that yelling at me wasn’t ok, but I wanted to continue working with her as she is the only person I’ve found who helps my dog to not need pain medication - to which she responded that she decided that she, nor anyone in the clinic, is permitted to work with my injured, elderly dog going forward. From what I can surmise, my dog’s needs weren’t even a consideration to her during this entire mess. In the end it was about her emotional whims. She was THE best veterinary doctor, until she wasn’t.I found a wonderful vet, elsewhere in Pacifica, who provides my dog with what she needs, and PRAISES the amount of work I do to keep my dog healthy. And trust me, I do a LOT.She feels safe there, and importantly, so do I.I also had an experience where one of the vet techs was horribly rude to me in front of the staff, who all rolled their eyes when this young woman verbally dominated me during the conversation then took my dog to the back.Dr Kari told me this particular tech is “better with pets than with people, which is why she usually stays in the back”.Again, no apologies. If you stay on this clinics good side, you’re golden. Question anything they do or say, even if it’s clearly morally compromised, and you will find yourself looking for a new veterinary clinic.
June 03 · Nichole BDr. Kari and her team were great! They have amazing healing hands down there. My pup even looked forwards to her visits, even though she was getting poked and prodded each time lol :). Amazing place. Highly recommend these folks .
November 25 · Sam brownI brought my pup here for the first time today and was thoroughly impressed! This is the first vet I’ve been to who hasn’t tried to upsell me. Dr. Randle was honest and efficient. I got the test results back within a couple of hours and I got the invoice right away to submit to insurance. Daniela was very kind, efficient, and compassionate. We will be back and I’ll be transferring my other pup here too.
March 30 · Annie StaffordAll of the vets and staff here are exemplary. We’ve been bringing our dogs to Coastal Holistic for almost a decade and have always received the best, most compassionate care for our pups. Dr. Molly has been our primary vet but Dr. Kari and Dr. Sara have also assisted us and they couldn’t be any nicer or more thorough with their support and treatment. Truly the best vet team in the Bay Area.
