Danville Family Vet Reviews
Danville family vet is the bomb. Just adopted a 5 year old from a shelter. Unfortunately the previous owners surrendered her. See had some health issues that the vet diagnosed and got her on meds asap. She is doing so much better. This vet also took care of our snookie, who we had to put down and our Libby. I have boarded my dogs with them and had no problems. The staff is excellent at this vet and so good to my dogs. Thank you! Highly recommend this vet.
Jun 19, 2025 · Karen GasserI have been using Danville Family Vet for nearly 6 years now. Dr Smith and his team are wonderful! I have never had an issue getting an appointment and always feel like my pets are a priority. LOVE our DVF team!!
May 08, 2025 · Katie ThompsonUse to use this place as my primary vet for all 3 of our animals. But then about a month ago. My service animal cut his foot open pretty badly and was bleeding every where. Story short being the vet turned me away due to the doc not being able to see him for 15-20mins but yet refers for me to drive to a vet that was over 30 minutes away while he was bleeding out. Will never go back here they didn't offer a bit of help an straight turned me away. Didn't even get offered a wrap to try an slow down the bleeding or anything. I won't waste my time going back there, if they can't help with bigger things when I need it, then I won't allow them to help with little things that cost out the butt as well. They are good for yearly shots or boarding or something. But anything else I don't recommend.
Apr 20, 2025 · Scott JefferyBEST VET OFFICE IN THIS AREA. Strongly suggest taking your fur kids to this place. Ask for Katie Rohrig, DVM. 3 years ago after my pup Zeus was labeled aggressive by another vet office, Katie took time to get to know my pup and played ball and befriended him and made it a fun time to come to the vet instead of scary. NO VET, has ever done this. My dog is not aggressive, never has been just doesn’t like his nails clipped.. Katie worked her magic and now it’s no longer stressful for him or me.. she the best !!! Hands 🙌 down !! She will be my vet as long as she practices. Clean facility and friendly staff always willing to help. Their care and compassion is top notch, Nothing less than the full 5 stars. Completely satisfied client.
Feb 17, 2024 · Cynthia WalkerI would give this company no stars, but unfortunately that is not an option. Please read this if you are a current customer or if you are looking for a vet.I took my 6 year old German shepherd in because I thought he had an abscess on his butt. First off, I was charged $69.50 for a six month preventive care exam, and an additional $46.50 for an urgent care fee. Dr. Smith looked at the mass on my dogs butt, he did not touch it, he did not listen to the dogs heart, he did not look in the dogs eyes, or ears. He basically took $116 to view-at a distance- the mass. Ok, i give the dog the meds and take him back in for a checkup about a week later.Once again, Dr. Smith just looks-at a distance-and it is decided that we need to remove the mass. Great, surgery is scheduled for a couple of days from then. once again, the visit costs $69.50, and Dr. Smith has yet to put hands on my dog.Keep reading…..it gets better.Surgery day arrives, I take in my dog, drop him off, all is good. I head to work and get a call from Sarah Dalton, who informs me that there was a miscommunication and the office needs the high end of the estimate paid in full prior to them doing the dog’s surgery. the estimation was anywhere from $1,569.33 to $2,263.33. We were told we had to have the money there before 8am. I have never heard of this being done before and it kind of shocked me. So, I called my son and he called in with his care credit. Sarah told him his account didn’t exist. My kid was a bit upset because the account exists and she was harassing him for the money. He went in to pick up the dog. when he got there he was informed by Sarah that she felt we could not pay for the surgery……hmmm, discrimination, yup. I didn’t know that Sarah Dalton had access to any of our accounts.we took the dog to Mount Hermon —-who I highly recommend—- to get the surgery that was needed. we found out that it is a bleeding probably cancerous tumor that she could not take off due to the area and the depth. She sent us to Greensboro oncology, they couldn’t get us in for 3 weeks. So we made a decision to go back to this horrible place to have the tumor removed and let the poor dog have some sort of life with the little time remaining. We called and scheduled surgery.Oh, keep reading, cause it shows what these people are all about.I get a call on Monday after a very tough weekend, from none other than Sarah Dalton. She tells me that they are terminating our relationship due to the past inciden. Yup, you know the one where money was the most important part, and I was too poor to afford the surgery.I finish my workday and stop by their office on my way home. I ask to speak to Dr. Smith, who tells me that my son was disrespectful to his office staff, who sent a bleeding dog with a tumor on it butt home. DISRESPECTFUL, his staff declared us unable to PAY. SARAH DALTON and Dr. Smith are disrespectful to animals and their owners.HOW DARE SOME TWINKY DECIDE WHAT I CAN PAY FOR. THANK YOU SARAH DALTON.DON’T take you animals here, and tell everyone the same. Mount Harmon is great, take them there.
