★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- I lost my sweet, sweet girl - to no fault of this wonderful clinic. The week before, when she was struggling with unrelated issues, everyone here was wonderful. They had treated her for years with more chronic issues and responded just as well to something sudden. The next week, she had surgery to remove a cancerous mass. Despite being diagnosed only two days prior, they were able to make a surgery date happen only two days later. She had an excellent prognosis and got to come home. But life doesn't follow prognoses, and she passed away from complications in my arms around 4:30 AM the next morning.I will struggle with my decision to consent to her procedure until long after I die, but I will never regret or lament coming to this clinic, nor will I ever blame them for what was simply the bad outcome of a high-stakes gamble. She was, and will forever be, my best friend. Thank you for 19 long years, old friend. Rest easy. July 27 · Trisana Hardin
- Took my cat in for an emergency and the vet was amazing. There was a bit of a wait but they treated him quickly and got him updated on his shots. Reasonable price which was actually less than I expected May 21 · Maranda Moser
- Very unhappy with my experience with Horton today. I called and scheduled 2 things for each of my 2 dogs. They asked me about other random services to which I said no. When my husband dropped off the dogs they had a list of what was supposed to be done to each dog. He asked them clearly if these were the things I’d approved. The person blatantly lied and told him I’d approved the laundry list of services. When I went to pick up my dogs not only was the bill twice what it was supposed to be but I also then had to cancel their grooming appointments for later in the day because they had been given shots I not only didn’t approve but they didn’t need. I would’ve hoped you could trust your vet not to scam you August 28 · Erin McLain
- I was able to make an appointment quickly and easily. The doctor and staff were nice, calm, and efficient. Our cat had great care! April 25 · Sharon Young
- He had been to several clinics and seen many Veterinarians since he was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his mouth. After a clinic told us they could not do the procedure he needed, we took him to Horton Animal Hospital - Northeast. On multiple occasions, he was bleeding heavily from the tumor and it took days for the bleeding to stop. He had lost 15% of his body weight. Dr. Capo looked at his chart and him before giving her opinion. We had three options, spend a lot of money for surgery that may only aggravate the cancer, put him down now, or place him in hospice. Dr. Capo was compassionately direct and clear. Dr. Capo prescribed antibiotics, pain management, and a herbal coagulate. The treatment made all the difference in the world. He could continue being the happy dog he has always been. The next few months were a steady decline, but he was still able to enjoy his favorite things and was happy. As the second week of May started, he was down 30% of his body weight, he was no longer the tail wagging, happy to see you barker and driveway greeter. He now lay, motionless when you came home, greeted him, and he no longer took the walks to the creek he once loved. Despite our feeding him by hand, he was not taking food well. He walked in a very crippled fashion, and often his legs gave out only after a few yards. He seemed most comfortable lying against a wall with his eyes closed. He was no longer enjoying anything, his tail no longer wagged. He no longer cared when a delivery truck pulled up. He was in pain and his will to live was gone, it was clear he was ready. When we met with Dr. Fox DVM at Horton Animal Hospital - Northeast he and the technicians treated him with the utmost kindness and compassion. He never liked his legs to be touched, but made little to no attempt to complain as his leg was shaved and the IV was inserted.I have gone through all of this, not to notify you of his passing, but to tell you how wonderful it is to have found a Veterinary Clinic with Doctors and Technicians who have common sense, compassion, knowledge, and grace as they treat and care for your pets that we committed to care for and who have given us so much companionship.I can not recommend Horton Animal Hospital - Northeast enough.Thank you Dr. Capo DVM, Dr Fox DVM and your technicians for helping to make Winston's last five months the best they could have been and helping his last moments as peaceful as they could have been.
