Paws & Purrs Animal Clinic Inc Introduce
For pet owners across South Carolina, the health and happiness of our animal companions are of utmost importance. When seeking veterinary care, finding a clinic that not only provides medical expertise but also fosters a relationship of trust and understanding is crucial. In Chesnee, South Carolina, Paws & Purrs Animal Clinic Inc. aims to be a resource for local pet owners. This article will provide an overview of the clinic, combining available public information with insights from real customer experiences, to help residents of South Carolina make informed decisions about their beloved pets' health.
The decision of where to take your pet for veterinary care is a significant one, impacting both their immediate well-being and their long-term health. A reliable veterinary practice should offer a range of services, compassionate staff, and a clear commitment to patient welfare. Paws & Purrs Animal Clinic, with Dr. Walker DVM as a key veterinarian, is positioned as a general practitioner, veterinary specialist, and provider of emergency and critical care, according to public listings. These varied specialties suggest a broad scope of services available to the Chesnee community.
Customer reviews offer varied perspectives on the clinic's services. One highly positive review highlights exceptional care and a welcoming atmosphere: "This veterinary clinic stands out for its exceptional care and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was incredibly helpful in accommodating my after-hours request. When I faced an emergency with my dog, the clinic handled the situation with utmost professionalism and care. Dr. Walker is a veterinarian who prioritizes patient engagement, and took the time to discuss the situation and provide reassurance. The clinic is so great that I would drive an hour to visit it instead of seeking care in my local area." This testimonial speaks to the clinic's ability to handle emergencies with professionalism, the supportive nature of Dr. Walker, and the overall positive experience that fosters loyalty even from a distance.
However, another review presents a contrasting and deeply concerning experience regarding diagnostic judgment. A pet owner shared: "I called him last week to get a stray cat that I had taken in checked out because she had suddenly stopped eating and drinking and was very lethargic and throwing up. I mentioned that she had gotten into a fight with a raccoon about a month earlier and they told me to bring her down so that she could be put down because it sounded like she had rabies. I had asked if they could test her for rabies instead of just putting her down and they said that there were no tests until the animal was euthanized and that they could test her after she was put down. Today, I was listening to the radio and overheard a story that had mentioned a rabid skunk and quickly realized that they do have tests to find out whether an animal has rabies. I was shocked... Luckily, I had decided to take her to a different animal hospital, and it turned out that she just had a respiratory infection! She was given a shot of antibiotics and was back to normal by that same evening! I'm sorry to say it, but I am so glad I didn't bring her to Paws and Purrs because she wouldn't be here with me today!" This review raises serious questions about diagnostic protocols and communication regarding rabies testing, which, according to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC), typically involves post-mortem brain tissue examination for definitive diagnosis, but veterinarians are expected to follow established protocols for managing potential exposures. This incident highlights the critical importance of a second opinion when faced with life-altering diagnoses, especially concerning highly contagious and fatal diseases like rabies.

Today, I was listening to the radio and overheard a story that had mentioned a rabid skunk and quickly realized that they do have tests to find out whether an animal has rabies. I was shocked. . This was very disappointing that they were going to just put my little girl down without making sure that she had rabies first. Although it was nice that they were able to make time for myself and my pet to be seen the same day that I had called, I felt like it was in poor judgment to jump to the conclusion that she had rabies without any tests being done on my pet. Luckily, I had decided to take her to a different animal hospital, and it turned out that she just had a respiratory infection! She was given a shot of antibiotics and was back to normal by that same evening! I'm sorry to say it, but I am so glad I didn't bring her to Paws and Purrs because she wouldn't be here with me today! FYI Inman Animal Hospital was GREAT and offers $40 off first visits for new clients.

Jun 18, 2025 · Sellyoursol 15Absolutely amazing. We had a scare with our older beagle and the vet looked over her and loved on her and she didn't even flinch when he drew blood. Great staff highly recommend to anyone. Fair prices 👌
Feb 04, 2025 · Tarah LeeLanni is a great vet, and the staff are all very nice! When my dog was having seizure after seizure and my previous vet was unable or unwilling to do anything for her, we took her to Lanni and he was able to get the seizures to stop and get her medication right so that she doesn't have nearly as many seizures as before. Very grateful to them!
