The decision to choose Phillips Creek Veterinary Hospital is complex, given the stark contrast in client experiences. The most compelling argument for choosing this hospital comes from the positive testimonials. One review paints a picture of a "dream team" in Dr. Houck and Matthew, highlighting a level of warmth and compassion that is truly exceptional. The client feels "so lucky" to have found a clinic that treats their "furry family like their own." This kind of deep, personal connection is invaluable and suggests that when the experience is good, it is truly outstanding. The praise for Dr. Houck's gentle demeanor, knowledge, and willingness to take her time with each patient and their owner is a powerful endorsement of the quality of care available.
However, the negative review raises serious concerns that potential clients must consider. This review details a deeply disappointing experience involving a scheduled spay surgery for a senior dog. The client alleges that the hospital claimed the dog's lab values were out of range, leading them to seek a second opinion which contradicted the hospital's assessment. The client's belief that the hospital preferred "more profitable" services, such as dental cleanings, over a pre-scheduled surgery, is a significant red flag. The added frustration of being charged for a returned item and a perceived "cynical" response to their concerns further damages trust. While this is a single, isolated account, it stands in direct opposition to the glowing reviews and suggests a potential inconsistency in service. For Frisco pet owners, this means that while the hospital has the potential for an incredible experience with a truly compassionate team, there are also risks that must be weighed, especially concerning complex procedures or sensitive situations. The best course of action would be to speak with the hospital directly, ask detailed questions, and trust your gut feeling before committing to a major procedure.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I can’t say enough wonderful things about Dr. Houck and her incredible assistant Matthew. From the moment you walk through the door, you’re greeted with warmth, compassion, and genuine care—not just for your pet, but for you as well.Dr. Houck is a rare gem: knowledgeable, gentle, and deeply committed to the well-being of every animal she treats. She takes the time to explain everything clearly, never rushes, and always makes sure your pet feels safe and loved. And Matthew is an absolute rockstar. Whether it’s calming nervous pets, handling tricky procedures, or just offering a reassuring smile, they bring heart and skill to every moment.Together, they make an unbeatable team. I trust them completely and feel so lucky to have found a vet clinic that treats my furry family like their own. If you’re looking for exceptional care, look no further—this is the dream team. 🐾💖
August 18 · Michella BallardWe’re deeply disappointed. After two weeks of planning and preparing—mentally, emotionally, and logistically—we brought our sweet dog in for her scheduled spay surgery. It was something important for us, and we trusted the clinic. We were ready, she was ready—and it felt like they just didn’t want to go through with the surgery.Just before the procedure, the doctor called us with concerns about lab results, claiming her values were out of range. We sought a second opinion. The other veterinarian carefully reviewed the same test results and reassured us: test's values were completely normal for a senior dog.It honestly seemed like they preferred to focus on services that might be more profitable, like dental cleanings. To make things worse, we were also charged for a canned food we had already returned. After going through all these reviews, I'm so thankful they didn’t end up operating on my dog. They're also quite cynical in the way they respond to messages — completely lacking empathy. The recommendation is to look for a different option.
April 17 · AlejandroNew to the area and had a great first visit today for my nervous dog’s wellness visit. We chose this clinic for their AAHA accreditation, available hours, and positive reviews, and the visit reflected that. The client care specialists up front were friendly and welcoming. Matthew and Dr. Colby (Lundquist) took their time with Bear to make him comfortable while examining him. Having time to discuss any concerns or questions and to not be rushed really means a lot and is so valuable. So happy to have found a great primary care clinic for my four legged family members.
May 10 · MelanieI love taking my two dogs to Phillip Creek Vet. Dr, Houck and staff are phenomenal. Thank you staff!
May 12 · Georgina HernandezVery friendly staff and they know how to handle your pet. They’ll always try to accommodate your requests. Doc is experienced. Suggests good diet and balanced nutrition.
