When it comes to selecting a veterinary care provider, Texans want a clinic that is not only medically competent but also compassionate and trustworthy. The Colony Animal Clinic has a strong history and reputation, but recent changes have led to mixed experiences, which is important for new clients to consider. One review offers a glowing account of a "trustworthy vet" that helped a cat make a successful recovery. The owner was impressed by the staff’s friendliness, knowledge, and attentiveness, as well as their commitment to discussing all options and costs transparently. This experience highlights the clinic's ability to provide excellent, compassionate care and build a strong rapport with clients, which is a key reason many people would choose it.
However, another review details a deeply negative experience after a change in leadership, citing a lack of empathy and unprofessional behavior from a new doctor. The reviewer claims that the vet "did not care to help" a seizing dog and even "intentionally tried to harm" the pet by suggesting a medication that should not be combined with its existing seizure meds. This severe criticism, which alleges a disregard for animal welfare and a focus on personal grievances over professional duty, is a significant red flag for potential clients. The review suggests that while the staff may have been excellent in the past, a change in key personnel can drastically alter the quality of care and customer service. For local pet owners, this means that while the clinic has the potential for positive experiences, they should proceed with caution and be aware of the different accounts of its current operations. The choice to trust The Colony Animal Clinic now rests on weighing these conflicting testimonials and deciding if the reported risks are worth the potential benefits.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Staff is super friendly and helpful. They made my first visit a breeze and were very respectful, knowledgeable, and attentive. They made sure to discuss all options and costs before proceeding with treatments as well as throughly discussing risks and next steps. My cat is now successfully recovering and in great health thanks to them! I would definitely recommend this clinic to those looking for a trustworthy vet!
July 07 · Michelle ZugastiI’ve been going here for 7 years, I have never had one complaint until Dr Wild retired. Ever since my experience has been so bad. My dog was diagnosed with epilepsy and visited once to receive an IV of keppra and to be prescribed more meds to control his seizures. When I left I was handed my dog while he was having a seizure and Dr Harry did not care to help. He instead called med and asked me why I left a star review while screaming at me. I explained to him why and he then suggested my dog to be on Prozac to control his separation anxiety while knowing dogs on seizure meds should not be given Prozac. He was intentionally trying to harm my dog. I should have stopped going to this clinic at that moment that happened. I needed his blood levels checked recently and he declined to see me now because of the 2 star review I left him. I believe he’s just uncomfortable kk owing that I know he intentionally tried to harm my dog. This place has gone down hill ever since he took over. I am now looking for another doctor for my dog. I am sad that was once a good office has now turned bad since Dr wild left. Please avoid this man, he is charged by his emotions and only cares about money. They also took away military discounts too something I always received when wild was there.
August 19 · James IVBrought my dog for the first time a week ago. It was a fine place. The receptionist in the front were great. But the nurse was a little condescending to both my and the office staff. Then the doctor didnt know my dogs age. He said she was 8 and she is actually 5 months old. I was asking about tips for trauma dogs since my dog came from the Kerrville flood but no one really would help me with tips or tell me if there's anything of notice I should do different. It just seemed like a money grab and not true care. I have had true care from a previous vet that passed away. He treated our dogs like family. This was not the same.
July 15 · Ivette RiveraI called the office with an urgent care issue for my dog and they told me to come right in. Once there, they assessed my dog while I was checking in and took us to a room for further assessment. The Doctor and all of the staff were very helpful and understanding and took great care of my dog. My dog is doing much better and is back to his normal self. I'm very happy with the outcome of this visit and how we were treated!
April 06 · Guitar HacktivistStaff here are very helpful and polite! They were able to track down needed records and get a signed vaccination certificate for my moms dog from two years ago. If not for their help her poor dog would have to get an additional unnecessary vaccination so we are grateful : )
