★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- Able to have my animals seen quickly. Dr. Kathy is so great! Staff is great. Everyone is knowledgeable. The prices are so reasonable! They all work with you and they all want what is best for your animals and not all these frivolous tests that have to be shipped to expensive labs before anything is done. No. This animal hospital is great, knowledgeable an works with common sense!! I won't take my animals anywhere else! July 18 · Tonya Clinton
- We initially loved taking our rescue dog here but that changed when the receptionist/aide accused us of abusing our dog. I don't know the receptionist's name (not Anne) but she is hateful and doesn't listen. Our dog needed tumors removed from his mouth surgically and required anesthesia. Before dropping our dog off, my husband told her that he is very timid/scared and traumatized and is a rescue and didnt know how he would act. She didnt listen, blew him off and said it wasnt a problem. After waking up from anesthesia our dog was scared and barked and lunged at the receptionist. He did not bite, but was giving warning. She was very dramatic about the ordeal and said that since he was 8 years old, he shouldn't still be traumatized from events in his younger years and indirectly accused us of abusing our dog. Yes, he was abused before we had him, he'sa rescue! She thought that if our dog were in a good home he wouldnt have reacted in such a way. She is completely ignorant. Dogs/animals can have PTSD just like humans do. Animals, like humans, can also react differently after anesthesia. Being in the veterinary field, i would think she would know this. She had no empathy for the situation or our dog. Dr Harris was gentle and kind with our dog who is obviously terrified during appointments which is evident by his trembling. Our biggest issue was with the receptionist/aide. I cant imagine she is a vet tech- but maybe she is. She needs to educate herself and practice bedside manner with the animals and the owners. We started taking our dogs elsewhere. Renfro had to remove additional oral tumors and they were wonderful with our rescue boy. They were very empathetic and kind, incredible bedside manner. It was a completely different experience and we will not go back to ray co.In addition to this experience, its difficult to reach anyone by phone. The receptionist is rude, and appointments could be 2-4 weeks or longer to be seen. The prices are reasonable compared to other vets and its why I've given 2 stars instead of 1. August 17 · Sammi Dee
- Edit 5-Star to 3-Star: we had a kitten fixed there. While there we wanted him microchipped. We were charged $30 for the chip which is going rate (even higher than most). We were stunned when we went to register the kitten that there was a $35 registering fee. So a microchip here is $65 when you can regularly get them done $20-30 with registration included. Absolute rip off. They should advise you of that when requesting it.The vet is great. The office is a little dated and behind on technology but the pricing does reflect that. They are typically the least expensive vet in the area but again, they are the furthest behind in the times too. I’d suggest mild-moderate concerns come here. Severe issues go elsewhere. - We have trusted Kathy to care for our pets for over 15 years. She has a way with our critters! Always the best price for office visits and procedures. I have recommended Ray County Animal Hospital to so many people over the years! Everyone is so kind and caring. I can't imagine taking our spoiled fur babies anywhere else. February 21 · Dawn Ralston
- I love Kathy. She's been so good with all of my furbabies over the years. She's the only one I really trust with them. April 10 · Holly McMillan
