★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I want to express my genuine disappointment and frustration with South Arbor Animal Hospital. After being a client for 8 years, I expected at least a baseline of care, concern, or compassion — unfortunately, that has not been my experience. The most recent incident began when I booked an appointment online, only to find it was scheduled so far out that I decided to go in person. On the day of the appointment, I woke up, called to confirm the time, and ended up finding I was about 10 minutes late. We live just 0.2 miles away, and despite the minimal delay, I was told I would need to reschedule. I could understand being turned away for being 30 minutes late, but 10?What made matters worse was the response of the receptionist — no attempt to offer an alternative, no referral, no compassion. Just a flat “reschedule.” Contrast that with another local veterinary office I contacted afterward: they couldn’t get me in immediately either, but they kindly made suggestions of where I could go and what I could do because they recognized the situation warranted a rapid response. That’s the difference between a true partner in your pet’s health and a business that’s just checking boxes. This is not the first time I’ve encountered this kind of treatment at South Arbor; it’s the third. At this point, I can only describe them as an animal clinic in the most basic sense — nothing more, nothing less. If you’re looking for a veterinarian that treats you and your pet with warmth, compassion, and flexibility, I honestly don’t believe this is the place for you.Life is stressful enough — my mom is currently on hospice, and I’m carrying more than my share of burdens. That makes me all the more aware of how essential compassion is in medicine. If this were a human doctor treating me this way, I would be dead by now.South Arbor had every opportunity to show care and concern for a longtime client, and instead they showed rigidity and indifference. That speaks volumes.
August 19 · S. S.Best vet experience by far. In addition to the staff's overall friendliness, staff have always been very thorough and attentive to my concerns. I feel like they do a good job of not only providing treatment to my dog but also educating me to ensure that I understand the context and what to do at home, including surgical procedures, soft tissue injuries, testing, and other issues. The pricing has also always been fair. I also appreciate that I can reach out for small questions to as needed. They are always very timely in responding.
August 21 · Adrian RodriguezSouth Arbor Animal Hospital id the best place for pet care. The whole team shows care and concern for my animals. My dogs are always happy to go to the vet. They get so much love and attention every time they come in to been seen. Please make sure that you ask about the vaccines for life program. The best program that I have ever come across and no one that I have come across offers a program like this. Unbeatable.Thank you to the whole team over at South Arbor Animal Hospital. ❤️❤️❤️
March 27 · Antonia “Toni Todd” HintonBetter than last vet for price, friendliness and professionalism. Clean, clean, clean. Mistakes have been made in my cats care. But, good experience. They are a good option for a knowledgable client. Advice? Go with the cheap option first. Ask for a small prescription. See how it works. So far i spent $223 for excessive licking, physical and bee sting check up. Better than prior vet that suggested biopsy as my FIRST gold star option for excessive licking. Ann ArborTried Atopica, Maxx puked. $75 mistake,$20 steroid cream, 6 drops applied twice, cured. Samples would have done the trick. Will donate back before expiration in one year. For anyone in need.I plan to stay here now knowing to be more vigilant. Again, cheaper option first. Have not vaccinated yet
August 04 · Scott AubeI just have to give my input after trying to find many different vets and finally finding one I absolutely adore and trust with my whole heart!!! Everybody at South Arbor AH absolutely rocks and I can't believe it took me so long to find them. Dr. Leffler is our vet and she is so incredible and great at explaining exactly what's going on. The techs are as well - they put you at ease from the start and let you know your fur babies are in great hands. They are also very upfront about the cost, which might not matter to everyone, but that is HUGE for vets. They'll give you a rundown of your visit before they even do anything. Spoiler: it is insanely well priced, too!Yesterday, my poor boy got a scratch in his eye and once I called, they were able to get me in within 3 hours!! We were out of there with meds and a lot more calm energy 30 mins later. As others have said, look into the Vaccines for Life program - absolutely life-changing. I cannot express enough how happy I am that my babies have this care and I hope others give them the chance too!!♥️♥️♥️
