Physical Rehabilitation Programs: Customized therapy plans designed to restore functional ability, improve mobility, and enhance the quality of life for pets with physical impairments or disabilities.
Underwater Treadmill: Utilizes warm, therapeutic water to provide buoyancy, reducing weight-bearing stress on joints while increasing range of motion, strength, and muscle mass through controlled walking or trotting. Excellent for post-surgical recovery, arthritis, and conditioning.
Hydrotherapy Heated Lap Pool: Offers a non-impact exercise option that strengthens muscles and provides cardiovascular benefits. Ideal for pets with difficulty walking on land, as the water assists with buoyancy and reduces joint impact. All sessions are assisted by staff members.
Companion Laser Therapy (Photobiomodulation Therapy): Uses specific wavelengths of light to accelerate healing, reduce inflammation, and manage pain. Effective for treating wounds, arthritis, and post-operative pain by stimulating cellular activity and increasing blood flow.
Therapeutic Exercises: Tailored exercise programs designed to build muscle strength, improve balance, increase range of motion, and facilitate the return to normal function for orthopedic and neurological conditions.
Manual Therapy (Massage & Passive Range of Motion): Hands-on techniques to improve circulation, reduce muscle tension, increase flexibility, and promote relaxation.
Mobility Carts/Wheelchairs: Assistance with fitting and utilizing custom-made mobility carts (e.g., Eddie's Wheels) to help pets with significant mobility challenges regain independence and freedom to move.
Shockwave Therapy: An advanced treatment offered for conditions such as arthritis, hip and elbow dysplasia, chronic disk disease, chronic cruciate ligament injuries, and tendon problems, aimed at reducing pain and accelerating healing.
Digital Thermal Imaging (DTI): A diagnostic tool used to visualize areas of inflammation or pain, helping to pinpoint issues and monitor progress during rehabilitation.
Senior Wellness Plan: Programs specifically tailored to address the needs of older pets, focusing on pain management, maintaining mobility, and improving overall comfort as they age.
Fitness and Fun Swim Program: A non-rehabilitative program designed for canine athletes, weight management, or simply for pets to enjoy a safe and engaging cardiovascular workout, especially useful during extreme weather conditions.

Feb 14, 2018 · Alicia SealeOur dog Mac is in the Fitness and Fun program. Everyone is amazing with him. A very positive experience for both of us.4 paws up for Sterling Impression! Highly recommended .
Jul 22, 2020 · Cathy SymonsI completed my first Northeastern University co-op rotation at Sterling Impression, and it was a remarkable introduction into the world of animal rehabilitation. Cathy, Dr. McMillan, Cherie, and the rest of the Sterling team do an impeccable job of coming together to provide each patient with guidance, direction, and support in reaching their rehabilitation goals. From the water treadmill to Laser therapy, I was able to learn how each exercise fits together to create an individually tailored therapy program for each client. Not only does the team at Sterling Impression help every patient physically, but they also demonstration compassion, warmth, and enthusiasm in their work.
Jan 15, 2021 · Mary WellsI just wanted to update my review to add feedback in the time of Covid. Sterling Impression has been incredibly flexible in finding ways to still help my dog while maintaining a safe environment for all of us people. Even though he generally fusses when he can’t see me, the excellent team has been able to take him inside and keep him calm while I stayed in the car. A fantastic resource! We're incredibly lucky to be able to go to Sterling Impression. We have a regular weekly busy and both my dog and I are less happy if we miss a week. The team at Sterling is a great resource for both my senior dog and in supporting me as I try my best to take care of him. I've learned techniques to help fight the continuing decline of aging. They structure his therapy for his situation; if he's having a bad day, we may do massage instead of swimming, or just do laser treatment. My dog is currently 15 and uses a cart (which Sterling Impression facilitated the purchase of); he's able to continue to live a happy and fulfilling life in great part because of the physical therapy, laser therapy, and water exercises. He's able to get around as much as he does in no small part because of Sterling Impression. They know my dog and his personality. They know he doesn't like lying on his right side and actively distract him when we need to flip him over. They truly care about both my dog and me. Thank you, Sterling Impression!
Jun 11, 2020 · Meri JohnstonI can't say enough good things about Sterling. The staff are professional, caring and kind. They helped us through our dog's cancer diagnosis/recovery from surgery and tailored her physical therapy to her exact needs each visit. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing physical therapy for their pets. I will definitely go to them in the future if the need arises. Thank you for everything, Sterling!
