Sunbury Veterinary Clinic Reviews
This place is unlike any other. We have been to vets all over the state for our ferrets and all have fallen severely short except this one. The doctor here specializes in not only small exotic animals but ferrets especially! We were given all sorts of wrong diagnosis from a few others in Marion, Kenton, Marysville and the like, some of them were so bad it made my daughters cry. This doctor took one look and said absolutely no way any of that is true. He performed the same tests as the others and came to a conclusion that gave us hope and sure enough, brought our baby's back to the life we knew they had in them. Y'all are a godsend! There is one vets assistant I would rather never have anything to do with animals as she handles them extremely rough. Our ferrets don't bite but they sure bit her because she has no respect for handling small animals. This is the ONLY thing I don't agree with this place on. Aside of that, 100% we come here. We drive 1 1/2 hours each way Everytime and it's worth it. Thank you so much to all of you who work for this wonderful doc (with 1 exception). You are all in our prayers and we can only hope this review helps your business grow and more people around the state find better, longer life and health for their little furry loved ones just like we did by coming here. We would be lost without your guidance and professional experience and courteous staff.

Mar 01, 2025 · Jeffrey WalkerAlthough we are long time patrons of Sunbury Veterinary Clinic, we had our first, and I hope not our last, visit with Dr. Mike today. He took a few minutes at the beginning of our appointment just to talk to and love on our anxious dogs, and they were significantly calmer during their exams. He was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and easy to talk to. We had a great experience and look forward to the next one!
Feb 19, 2025 · Chelsey UlryJust moved to the area and was referred to Sunbury Veterinary Clinic by a another dog owner. Called and was able to get scheduled fairly quickly. Staff was welcoming and kind. Enjoyed meeting Dr Michael - the sone of the practice owners. Says a lot that he would follow in his parents footsteps. Probably has more experience/exposure than most Vets. I would highly recommend this practice and Dr Michael. Many thanks for taking carw of Hazel.
Mar 08, 2025 · Sue HallWe’ve been taking our dog here since he was a puppy, almost 7 years now.Staff is great, very nice and always answered all my questions, Dr. Mike was even better. My dog is always VERY scared to go to the vet, his last annual Dr. Mike sat with him and made sure he felt comfortable around him before even starting his exam (which all was done on the floor to make my dog comfortable) he took his time and I was very grateful for it.However, his first puppy visit went fine and that was that, after Covid happened we were not allowed in the rooms with our pets for awhile, they would take them into the office and do the exam and bring them back out to us when they were done. Ever since that first Covid appointment, he’s been scared since to go there. When I finally was allowed back into the exam rooms I noticed they always had to hold him down, a little too much in my opinion for a dog who’s clearly very anxious. After a couple years they finally prescribed him gabapentin and trazedone so he can take it before visits to calm down. Granted I used those and I would use them before groomer appointments because he was the same way and I’ve mentioned that multiple times at his appointments. He has a groomer appointment soon so I called in to ask for a refill they said it was awhile since the last time I filled it and I explained it’s because I only use it when he’s going to see them or groomers but with the way they want him to take it (at night, then two hours before the appointment the next day) he’s been powering through the two hours before dose and acts like I never gave him anything. She put me on hold to speak with Dr. Nowac to see if his dose can change. He then gets on the phone and I explained the situation to him again and beige I can even finish he cuts me off and very rudely raises his voice and says “I did not prescribe that for groomer appointments, those are for when he comes for visits here” I start trying to explain to him again that I’ve been doing that for years and I’ve mentioned in past appointments that I do this, he then cuts me off again and says that he doesn’t need to know what I use it for and to use it as prescribed. After repeating the same thing over again and being very rude and not letting me finish talking he said he was going to change the prescription amount, said okay and then hung up. I asked for a quote on the medicine and I didn’t get that or whenever that it would be ready, just hung up on me. There’s been past appointments where I’ve been talked down to multiple times but I’ve brushed it off, but made me feel awful for wanting to know as much information as I can get since I have a bulldog and I know the health risks for them. If I was actually told to not use that medication which I KNOW is prescribed for pets that need help with being calm even without being at the vet, I CLEARLY would not have given it to him.If you choose this place, request Dr. Mike at least, he’ll give you all and any information you need without you feeling like it’s an inconvenience to wonder about your pet and he’ll take the time instead of restraining your already nervous pet causing more stress.
