Utz Michael DVM Introduce
For pet owners in the greater Kansas City area, especially those in Raytown and surrounding Missouri communities, finding a trusted and comprehensive veterinary partner is paramount to their pet’s well-being. **Dr. Michael Utz, DVM**, is a highly respected General Practitioner who is part of the dedicated team at the **Raytown-Gregory Animal Health Center**. This animal hospital has been a fixture in the community since 1975, building a reputation for providing full-service care across a pet's entire life—from the playful days of **Puppies And Kittens** to specialized **Senior Pet Care**.
Dr. Utz, a native of Raytown himself, brings a deep understanding of local pet needs and a wealth of experience, having earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri, Columbia, in 1979. His professional focus on areas like gastroenterology, dermatology, and immunology contributes significantly to the clinic's ability to offer a broad range of specialized **Veterinary Services**.
The clinic’s philosophy is centered on high-quality health maintenance and preventative care, ensuring pets remain happy and healthy year-round. Services begin with regular **Physical Exams** and **Annual Vaccinations**, building a strong foundation for long-term health. Beyond routine care, the hospital is fully equipped with an **In House Lab** for fast diagnostics and offers advanced procedures including various surgeries. This comprehensive approach means that most of your pet’s health needs—from a routine **Pet Dental Cleaning** to complex **Internal Medicine** cases—can be addressed efficiently and compassionately in one familiar location.
While the majority of visits are for scheduled services, the team understands that pet emergencies can happen at any time. The facility is equipped to handle **Emergency And Urgent Care** needs during their normal business hours, prioritizing necessary treatment when time is of the essence. Pet owners often comment on the staff's professionalism, compassion, and willingness to discuss treatment options with sensitivity to both the pet’s ease of care and the client’s budget concerns, fostering a strong, long-term relationship between the clinic and the Missouri community it serves.

Highlights of the facility and its service include:
- **Decades of Community Trust:** The hospital has served the Raytown community for nearly fifty years (since 1975), demonstrating a deep commitment and consistent quality of care that has fostered multi-generational client loyalty.
- **On-Site Advanced Diagnostics:** The availability of an **In House Lab** means critical test results, such as those from **Blood Screenings**, are often available quickly, allowing for immediate diagnosis and commencement of **Medical Treatment**.
- **Specialized Surgical Expertise:** Offering both **Soft Tissue And Orthopedic Surgery** signifies a high level of surgical capability that can handle complex injuries and conditions without the immediate need for external referral.
- **Comprehensive Life-Stage Care:** The emphasis on both **Puppies And Kittens** care and dedicated **Senior Pet Care** ensures a pet receives continuous, appropriate support throughout their entire life cycle, a hallmark of excellent **Health Maintenance**.

- **Accessibility and Convenience:** Essential features like **Wheelchair accessible entrance** and an **Online Pharmacy** enhance the accessibility and ease of use for busy pet owners.
- **Handling of Emergencies (During Hours):** Providing **Urgent Care During Normal Business Hours** is a vital resource for pet owners facing immediate, non-life-threatening emergencies, preventing the need for a stressful drive to a 24-hour facility for conditions that can be treated locally.
It is important for clients to be aware that end-of-life care handling, such as the means by which a deceased pet's body is returned for home burial, may vary. While the compassionate intent of the staff is noted in reviews, clients who have specific requirements regarding the container used for transport (e.g., a box instead of a bag) should communicate this clearly to the staff in advance during the difficult process of **Hospice Care** or euthanasia to ensure their expectations are met during this sensitive time.

- I have used Raytown Gregory Vet Hospital for multiple different reasons most of had no problems i have two dogs and both needed yearly shots and one needed stitches a few months after. Didn't have any problems with them, price wise they were reasonable. The one problem I have is the following.... since i felt like they deserved 4-5 stars, my mom needed to put her dog down so we made the apt with raytown gregory, the problem.... most vets that i have been to that friends or family went to for this reason left with their pet in a small cardboard box (when they wanted to take home to bury) we assumed this is what would happen when we went to Raytown-Gregory for this reason, NOT THE CASE!And this is what i have a MAJOR problem with, during the visit of putting her down went fine, like you would expect. after she had passed i assumed like previously (at another vet) they would give us as much time as needed and than ask us to step out and than bring her wrapped up and in a box, instead the vet suggested she be wrapped up and in a bag in case her body released any bowl movements which is always a possibility my mom shook her head in understanding what he was saying, again we assumed she would be in a box anyways so we wouldn't see this... but we did my mother wrapped her dog in a towel and was going to carry her out in the towel, since we now figured no box... he than grabbed a black trash bag and started to put her in the bag and than wrapped the bag around her and tapped it shut. This made my mother go over the edge, i than had to carry her out to the car in just a trash bag, which is VERY awkward, since you can feel her in the bag. Doesn't help because it was in a bag and not a box, a man sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot made the comment do you have an animal in that. he had no idea that we just put our dog down, and i understand that but it was odd seeing a young women carrying this oddly shaped black trash bag to her car. Again a box should have been used, i have had to do this before at another vet and after saying your goodbye and getting a box where you can feel your pet or see its shape just feels like a heavy box makes it a little easier than carrying there obvious body in a trash bag.
