Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital Reviews
They’re amazing! I know my dogs are weird and the love the vet. Especially our one dog. He is always just soo excited to be there. Dr. Kwan is super nice, knowledgeable, and definitely talked to us with care but also was attentive to our dog at the same time. She really seemed to care. The support staff is amazing! Jenson gets so excited to see them, even if it’s not his time to see the vet like when we to Petco to shop or for grooming. They get equally excited to see him too! Our other dog, Bongo, really loves going there too even though he’s a more timid anxious baby.(Included pictures are of Jenson eagerly awaiting his turn to see the vet)Thank you for raking such good care of our sweet fur babies!!
Jun 22, 2025 · Rachel ZuckmanIf it weren't for the amazing techs/staff and convenience of having the store integration with veterinary services, I probably would not come back here. I brought my 4-year-old golden retriever in for routine vaccinations and a check-up, and the veterinarian, Dr. McGovern I believe was her name (this was our first time seeing her), was very condescending and rude. My dog is a very large full-bred golden retriever, and I am well aware that he has been gaining some weight. I have been actively making a lot of effort to get him outside and running/going on 2-3 mile walks a day in addition to placing him on specialized dietary food, however his energy levels have also decreased since being neutered. When she initially came into the room to see him, he attempted to run up to greet her (as he does with anyone) to which she cornered herself in the room and said, "Okay way too much enthusiasm" with a very smug face and did not come any closer to even touch him. She said very few words to me other than, "He is way too overweight", "How do you even walk this thing?" to which I explained the activity he gets and feeding schedule/description. She cut me off and just stated, "Well he probably can't run because he's so fat," then proceeded to hand me a feeding measurement cup and said other than that he looks great; the visit ended after that.I understand that healthy weight is important in a dog to ensure longevity and prevention of any health issues but emphasizing that does not need to be done in such a condescending manner especially if you do not know the entire history. This was our first ever visit with this veterinarian, and if she knew his history and viewed his records, she would see that he has always been rather large for his size since he was born. I am not knocking her expertise and arguing in favor of overweight dogs at all, but I do think this should have been handled much more professionally - especially given that I explained all of the efforts that we have been making, and her only suggestion was to start cutting back more on his food right before she walked out the room.Outside of this, the staff at this location go above and beyond in making sure that you and your pet are comfortable and I am very appreciative of them and their kindness. I felt important to share this here because of how much effort the team there puts into making sure everyone feels welcomed and has a positive experience and just wanted to highlight how disappointing it is that one can still have a pretty bad experience despite their efforts due to the treatment by the veterinarian themselves.
May 31, 2025 · Shelby JoI brought my cat into this facility because I am worried about her. I live on 600 a month disability and have no car. I was able to borrow the money for the test and had a coupon for the visit and got a ride. I even spoke with someone this morning on the phone because they were going to charge me 80 for visit and 180 for a worm test. After the call I was told the total should be 65. No one mentioned that if I didn’t bring her records she would have to get another rabies shot. I can only imagine how much they were gonna charge for that, but I don’t need to be up sold at a stupid veterinarian clinic. I’m worried about my cat and I went to great lakes to try to get her in to be seen and they turned me away and the girl that did it was just about as sarcastic as you can get. I don’t know, but I thought people got into veterinary medicine because they cared about animals not how much money they could shove in their bank accounts, but it’s starting to appear that the veterinary establishment is just about as gross and unhealthy as the medical is for humans it’s not about the animals. It’s about how much money they can make. Thanks Petco. I really appreciate it.
Jun 05, 2025 · Kimberly AndersonThe staff was very rude and did not even address any of the reasons we even made the appointment for. Instead they insisted the food we had been feeding our dog for years (and they knew she was eating, from our previous visits) was going to give her a heart condition and that pet food allergies were a myth and impossible to test for. It was $775 for the visit including the Symparica Trio, the test to see if our dog had symptoms of the heart condition that they insisted she had, a urine sample they had zero interest in collecting when our dog did her business outside, a probiotic because we mentioned she had thrown up a couple nights before, and a senior profile. We wanted the senior check-up and blood test because we found a lump. After showing where the lump was, they insisted they could not feel the lump and disregarded the whole issue to focus more on the Fromm we were feeding our dog. It was a very confusing and upsetting time for us since we felt like we couldn't even communicate with the staff because they would run out every couple minutes and return with another employee. I must have said something to upset the Dr. because she only spoke to us for a minute when I asked about the food problem her staff brought up.Thankfully the lump has not grown in size since the visit here. However, after $800 and to have more questions than when we arrived without any actual pet health specialists to speak to besides the techs they juggled in and out of our room really makes me regret coming here. This is the worst vet I've ever been to.
Jun 27, 2025 · Jacob GoganBy far the worst vet experience ever. We felt super rushed with our cat and they didn’t even provide any treatment just referred us to a specialist. On top of that we got charged for a rabies shot our cat didn’t even need. If you are not going to treat him and just referred us somewhere what was the point of giving him a rabies especially since we said that we have it at home. This place is such a scam. If I could give negative stars I would
