Veterinary Care Center Reviews
Dr. Horn saved my dog’s life this weekend. My 14 year old male terrier has been dealing with vestibular issues which apparently stem from a brain tumor. The steroids have kept his symptoms stable and to a minimum, and already bought me an extra month with him. However he suddenly had severe GI issues this week. The emergency vet recommended over a thousand dollars in diagnostic tests that unlikely would have found the issue. After discussing with my primary vet’s technician Thursday morning (I’ve never actually spoken on the phone with my vet before) they weren’t able to squeeze me in for a visit this week to see what could be done to help. I did however receive a call from my vet Thursday evening to let me know I can give him Gas X to keep him comfortable and she’d be around Friday and Saturday if I wanted to have him euthanized.I wasn’t going to give up, but I also wasn’t going to let him suffer through the weekend if it came down to that. I remembered Dr. Horn who I had seen in the past and had called me a couple of months ago when he got a copy of my dog’s first visit to the emergency/specialty hospital. I called later in the day Thursday and he was fully booked for the week. Though once I explained the situation he squeezed me in for a visit on Friday. I am so grateful he did. After reading the same records the other vets had, and listening to the same story I told them, he immediately recognized the problem and gave me prescription dog food and other medicine to try.Dr. Horn was right! The gourmet (human food) diet I had been feeding him since his brain tumor diagnosis was the problem. I had no idea the steroids would be this effective and was just trying to spoil him in the end when he stopped eating his dry food. The digestive aids Dr. Horn prescribed had my dog feeling 90% better in a day and he had his first peaceful night sleep in days last night. This isn’t the first time Dr. Horn helped solve problems other doctors couldn’t for me. I only regret not staying with him as my primary vet. I tell everyone he is like Dr. House for dogs. I couldn’t recommend him more. Thank you Dr. Horn!
May 18, 2025 · Jon SI’ve been going here for years now. The staff is so sweet and kind. Dr Horn is truly one of the best! My dog Paisley is never afraid to go to the vet. She loves seeing everyone and they take such good care of her. I also bring my bunny here, they are great with him as well! Dr Horn really knows his stuff.
Oct 01, 2024 · Amy AnnucciWe had a scheduled appointment at 12:30 pm today, 3/24/25 and the receptionist advised me to be there at least 15 mins before appt time. We got there at 12:10 pm and she placed and my cat in a room. We sat in the room, with no one to check on us until I decided to walk out at 1:41 pm. There was no thought or consideration that my time is just as important as the employees there. We were in the room sitting there for over an hour and 30 mins. Why give me an appt at 12:30 pm if you had no urgency and could not have the professionalism to check in and apologize for the delay. The sad part of it all is I went there during my lunch from work and my poor cat was crying the whole time. They clearly do not care about pets and owners time. I walked out and the receptionist did not say one word to me. It was so disappointing and upsetting. I hope Dr David Horn reads this. Shouldn’t run a business when you can’t support it.
Mar 25, 2025 · Sandi KoI have been using this vet for close to 10 yrs with no issues until recently. The front desk woman has a serious attitude inlesa youre paying the bill. I showed up at 4:58 to get my cats pain meds that had already been filled and just needed to be paid for. She was leaving for the day and before I could even ask for help she said she wasn't going back inside. It was a Friday and they are closed all weekend so that meant no meds for. my cat. I asked her if maybe they could be called into another pharmacy and she said she would not bother the dr after hours for that. I also work every day and sometimes my job requires me to stay a little longer to get my job done. I will find another caring veterinary place for my cats. What she didn't seem to understand is that she was hurting my cat not me. Isn't the purpose of a veterinary hospital for all employees to have compassion?
Mar 25, 2025 · Tracy TurnerI've been taking my cats to Dr. Horn for over ten years. He's a funny guy but extremely professional, and always takes the time to explain any health issues and treatment options. He calls personally with test results or to answer questions. The office is clean, and the reception staff are friendly, prompt, and always genuinely excited to see your pet again. Dr. Horn got my diabetic cat to age 21, and made time for a newborn kitten in distress despite being very busy (that kitten is 2 now!). He is honest and clear, and makes you feel more secure taking care of pets that need extra care.
