Veterinary Emergency Group Introduce
When a pet emergency strikes, every second counts. For pet owners in Fort Worth, having a reliable and compassionate emergency veterinary service is a necessity. The Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to providing immediate and expert care for pets in critical situations. Unlike a traditional veterinary clinic, VEG is designed from the ground up to handle urgent and emergency needs, with a unique approach that prioritizes both the pet's well-being and the owner's peace of mind. This article will provide a comprehensive overview of VEG, highlighting what makes it a premier choice for emergency veterinary services in the Texas region.
What truly sets the Veterinary Emergency Group apart is its philosophy of open communication and client inclusion. In a typical emergency room, pet owners are often separated from their animals, left to wait anxiously for updates. VEG operates on a different model. They understand that a pet is a beloved family member, and the distress of a pet emergency is compounded by the separation. At VEG, you are encouraged to stay with your pet throughout the entire process, from the initial examination to treatments and even overnight stays. This open-floor concept allows you to be an active participant in your pet’s care, providing comfort to your animal and giving you a direct view of the exceptional care they are receiving.
Beyond their unique operational model, VEG is staffed by a team of highly-skilled and genuinely compassionate professionals. They are experts in emergency medicine, ready to handle a wide range of critical situations with precision and speed. From severe injuries to sudden illnesses, the team is trained to respond calmly and effectively under pressure. Their dedication is not just to the medical treatment but to the overall experience. They understand the emotional toll an emergency takes on a family, and their kindness, patience, and genuine compassion are consistently praised by clients. This holistic approach to care makes VEG a trusted and invaluable resource for the Fort Worth community.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Every single person who cared for Manny was completely devoted to his comfort, safety, and happiness. I’ve never met a team, human or animal hospital, so filled with love for what they do and the patients they serve. The kindness, patience, and genuine compassion we experienced meant the world to us. I am deeply grateful and so impressed by the staff, the beautiful facility, the way they care, and the thoughtful follow-up. They treated Manny like family, and that is something I will never forget.
August 18 · Allison AmesFrom the moment we arrived we were treated like the most important people and pet in the world. Treatment was exceptional and everyone there went out of their way to make us comfortable including providing a private room with a bed for our overnight stay. Snacks, coffee and water were also provided. Totally top notch in every way.
August 18 · credellI don’t even know where to start. Last night my baby, Turbo, started having seizures out of the blue back to back. I was calling around to hospitals to see about exam fees to be able to afford to rush him to the hospital. I called VEG and it was meant for Dr. Shuffelbottom to answer the phone cause my baby was in the middle of a seizure and screaming. He gave me the price to bring him in but I told him I found a cheaper place, he said he would do it for the same price I just needed to get him in there as soon as possible. I rushed him over, the doctor and his staff IMMEDIATELY started working on him and let me stay with him. My Turbo was very sick and to my surprise had a lot going on and was suffering. I had to make that hard choice. They were so wonderful! The truth is I lost my mom not even a year ago and Turbo was her lil boy. I mentioned this to them. The compassion for the fur babies and me truly surprised me!! We don’t see this very often where the baby means more to them than what you have in your bank! They worked with me and I can’t say enough about this Dr and his staff!! I will ALWAYS use this hospital because of the love for their job and not the bottom line! Other vet hospitals need to fall in line with VEG! Thank you all for everything you did for Turbo and for making sure I left without the stress of emptying my savings account!
August 24 · Coralee HilleryThe level of gratitude, respect, and admiration I have for the ENTIRE team at VEG cannot be captured in words. I had never been to this vet before, but I had brought my kitty in for an emergency because she was not going to the bathroom. They not only took extraordinary care of her, but also of me. I was a wreck due to the situation and they remained calm, professional, and supportive while still providing exceptional care for my kitty. I really don't know what to write in order to convey the quality of care that was received. For over 48 hours, they provided consistent, top of line, personalized care. I was worried that the transitioning of VEG teams would change the quality of care and I was completely wrong. My expectations were blown out of the water.Dr. Hicks and Dr. Jackson were both extremely thorough in their conversations with me regarding all aspects of the visit (things for me, things for my cat, information regarding itemized cost, etc.).All the nurses (to name a few specifically, Lisa, Arianna, Sarah, Savannah, Hannah, Kelsey, Kaylee.... I'm definitely forgetting a few because the whole team truly gave me phenomenal care) showed a level of care for my kitty that was not expected. I am beyond grateful. There was some time during this experience that I was thinking I may lose my kitty due to her situation (dramatic maybe, but emotions were high), but as of now I am at home with her sitting next to me as I type this with a smile on both of our faces.Thank you again to the entire team at VEG, I am beyond grateful and I can't express it enough.
May 07 · Ryan SklarDr. Hicks, Sophie, Lauren, and there's one more person whom I didn't catch their name but was the first one to greet me and help me set up. She kindly offered and provided me with coffee. THANK YOU so much for everything. ER experiences whether human or animal are stressful, no doubt about it. But the group of ladies, all of them work well together and made my experience and that of my pupper that much better and less stressful. I appreciated their thoughtfulness, their care, compassion, and expertise. I loved the openness of the space and the ability to stay close to my dog. Impressed with the level of communication and comfort they brought to me and others. The fact that the clinic is 24 hours and walk-ins are welcome gave me peace, especially because I'm not from the area. It made me choose it over other places, and I'm glad I did.
