Westford Veterinary Emergency and Referral Center Reviews
They gave a very inappropriate dosage of medication to my 5lb dog that made him so sick I had to bring him to Angel Memorial Hospital in Boston Massachusetts to treat him for the inability to walk on his own and vomiting due to a high medication expensed fromWestford Veterinary. When I confronted the practice about the issue they told me it wasn’t “their fault” and the doctors words were “your dog is a light weight and can’t handle medication”, they then proceeded to say Angel Memorial(who is notarially known as one of the best in the country) who treated him the second time was wrong to inform me that the medications dispensed by Westford Veterinary were too high of a dose and again repeated to tell me that my dog is a “lightweight”. The last thing I wanted to hear when confronting a veterinary clinic on an error made is “how was I supposed to know your dog is a lightweight, and Angel Memorial probably gave you an intern because I don’t believe the medication change they made is a healthy choice for your dog”. All I know is that after leaving Angel Memorial Hospital feeling grateful that my dog was in a much better condition. I now have the correct diagnosis, my dog is walking, without pain, has no vomiting, was given the proper medication regimen and has a great long term plan moving forward. This is what I expected to have gotten from Westford the first time and left with my dog in agony, vomiting due to medication toxicity and the inability to walk due to their judgement calls. I don’t recommend bringing any animal in the Westford Emergency Veterinary Hospital. My suggestion click lowest reviews first on google and see what really happens here. Because there’s 100 reviews just like mine sadly with animals passing away due to this hospital.**** In addition the response from the business towards my review takes no accountability and blammed the victim in the situation and completely lied about what was fully administered to my animal. Such bad business practice. Writing false responses to a factual review to warn people about the safety of innocent injured animals. Bulgar’s in Andover for emergency care, Angel memorial out of Woburn or Angel memorial out of Boston are the best in this area. There’s multiple complains on the better business bureau and plenty of other websites including yelp and google. Do your research before trusting the facility as if you click lowest responses first you will read all the horror stories that have happened here and a practitioner who actually no longer to practice that was on their staff.
Apr 15, 2025 · Kaitlyn CicaleOur 2 year old kitty, Wendy, ate something she shouldn’t have and became sick. We took her here and everyone was so kind and compassionate. The night vet we saw listed out each test and its cost. He seemed like he was trying to be considerate of the financial impact to us while remaining dedicated to Wendy’s care. It helped that they submitted the pet insurance claim for us which made things easier. The staff seemed to genuinely care for animals and were very kind to us throughout the ordeal. Wendy is now doing great and much better after her stay there (plus a stylish peg leg UGG boot)
Jun 23, 2025 · Jennie KA few years ago, I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life—to say goodbye to my beloved dog, who had grown old and tired. In that incredibly difficult moment, the team at Westford Veterinary Specialists showed me and my dog an extraordinary level of compassion, care, and kindness that I will never forget. From the moment we walked in, they treated my dog with such dignity and love, as if he were their own. They spoke gently, moved slowly, and gave us the time and space we needed. I was heartbroken, but their empathy and support made a world of difference. They didn’t rush anything. They were patient, understanding, and comforting every step of the way.Even though it’s been a couple of years, I still think about how grateful I am to have had them by my side in that moment. Their warmth and professionalism made a devastating experience just a little more bearable.I will always recommend you guys to anyone with a pet.Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Apr 21, 2025 · CarolineOur beloved Daisy would have been 12 today, and despite our loss being so recent and our pain still so raw, I wanted to take the time to say a heartfelt 'Thank You' to the team here at the Westford Emergency Veterinary clinic.Daisy was unfortunate enough to have to visit the ER on three separate occasions during her long life, but any time she was there we were so impressed and so happy with the care. It goes beyond what is 'standard' at this place. And they do more than treat the animal - they also care for the owners and genuinely feel the pain of the people they interact with.Over Memorial Day weekend we had to bring Daisy in for what turned out to be her final car ride. I was too distraught to even ask or listen for the doctor's name, but - to the gentleman doctor who arrived at (roughly) noon on Sunday over Memorial Day weekend, thank you - from all of us. When faced with an absolutely heartbroken , sobbing, and lost family who had never gone through anything like that before, your compassion and gentle handling of an extremely difficult situation was admirable. It's unfortunate that I wasn't able to muster the strength to share that with you in the moment, but I'd like to share my appreciation with you now.We don't plan on being dog owners again, but if we were to do that, we wouldn't hesitate to rush to Westford Veterinary Emergency Center if the need ever arose. I would trust them any time.
Jun 04, 2025 · Matthew HudsonThere are really wonderful ER practices that will require a longer drive, but are worth it!I called around to 6+ vets and ERs, trying to determine who could see my dog for a suspected intestinal blockage. Most places I called were empathetic, kind and helpful in providing information + referrals of other better suited hospitals. Not only was the Westford staff I spoke to over the phone short, rude and unkind towards me.. they also said they were “fully booked” and would not be able to see me. How is a 24hour ER fully booked? I understand a multiple hour wait time, but I cannot understand turning away an urgent situation because they were very busy. Additionally, the hospital they recommended to me was already closed for the day. Other vets I called told me specifically to go to a 24/7 hospital in case my dog needed surgery and hospitalization.I’m glad Westford turned us away, because we ended up at Blue Pearl in Waltham and they were excellent. Based on the other 1 star reviews here, I don’t think my pets belong at Westford.
