A&F Persian Cats Introduce
For individuals in Ohio considering adding a new feline companion, particularly a specific breed like a Persian cat, the choice of breeder is paramount. A&F Persian Cats, located in St. Louisville, Ohio, has been a source for Persian kittens, but recent customer experiences highlight crucial considerations for potential pet owners. Understanding the full spectrum of experiences, both positive and challenging, is essential for making an informed decision about where to acquire a new family member.
Recent customer reviews regarding A&F Persian Cats have raised significant concerns that prospective buyers in Ohio should be aware of. One customer recounted purchasing a kitten that, for months, they attempted to get CFA registration paperwork for, with "many messages unanswered." A complaint filed with the BBB reportedly elicited a dismissive response from "Ed" and no further resolution, with the paperwork never being received. More alarmingly, this customer reported their kitten having "under developed nasal openings, had an upper respiratory infection and has suffered with a skin condition since I got her," which subsequently spread to their other two Persians. This experience led them to conclude that A&F Persian Cats exemplifies "the true definition of a backyard breeder out for the money."
Another detailed review echoes these concerns. A kitten purchased on a Sunday afternoon was "sneezing with watery eyes," which the seller, Ed, allegedly dismissed as "normal behavior." By Monday morning, the kitten was "visibly ill, eyes crusted shut and nose full of hard boogers." Despite repeated attempts to contact A&F, no satisfactory response or veterinary information was provided. A vet visit diagnosed the kitten with "an eye infection along with a severe upper respiratory infection" and confirmed it was "very underweight at less than 1lb at over 8 weeks." The reviewer expressed frustration over the seller's lack of compassion and refusal to provide adequate vet records or certification, noting that another kitten from the same litter also suffered from an upper respiratory infection. The review strongly labels the establishment as "a true definition of a backyard uncompassionate breeder who is only about the $" and warns potential buyers, citing threats made by the seller if a negative review were left.
A&F Persian Cats is located at 8520 Weaver Rd, St Louisville, OH 43071, USA. St. Louisville is a community within Ohio, and this address places the business in a more rural or residential setting, which is common for smaller-scale breeders. While direct accessibility depends on individual travel within Ohio, those interested would typically need to plan a visit to this specific location. It's important for potential buyers to be aware of the exact location and consider travel time, especially if multiple visits are required, such as for initial selection or follow-up if issues arise.
Given the nature of A&F Persian Cats as a breeder of Persian kittens, the primary "service" offered is the sale of these specific felines. However, based on customer reviews, the associated services and professional practices appear to be significantly lacking. Typically, a reputable breeder would offer:
- Kitten Sales: Providing Persian kittens for adoption to new homes.
- Initial Health Check: Kittens should ideally come with a recent veterinary check-up and a clean bill of health upon sale.
- Vaccination Records: Comprehensive and accurate records of vaccinations administered to the kitten.
- Deworming Information: Details on deworming treatments the kitten has received.
- Health Guarantees: A reputable breeder often provides a limited health guarantee against certain genetic conditions or illnesses for a specified period after purchase.
- Registration Paperwork: Providing the necessary documentation (e.g., CFA registration papers) to allow the new owner to register their purebred cat.
- Post-Sale Support: Ongoing communication and support for new owners regarding kitten care, especially in the initial transition period.
However, based on the provided customer feedback, it is evident that several of these crucial services, particularly regarding health documentation, CFA registration, and post-sale support for sick kittens, were reportedly not adequately provided by A&F Persian Cats.
Based on the customer reviews, the "features" or "highlights" of A&F Persian Cats primarily revolve around the initial availability of Persian kittens. However, the pervasive negative experiences detailed by customers highlight significant areas of concern rather than positive features:
- Availability of Persian Kittens: Customers were able to purchase Persian kittens.
- Initial Appearance of Health: One review initially took the seller's word that sneezing was "normal behavior," indicating kittens were presented for sale, but subsequent events contradicted this.
- Variety of Kittens (Implied): The business focuses on Persian cats, implying a certain breed-specific selection.
Conversely, the reviews strongly highlight several critical "lowlights" or areas of concern:
- Lack of CFA Registration Provision: Multiple reports of buyers not receiving promised CFA registration paperwork, with the breeder reportedly dismissing BBB complaints.
- Sale of Unhealthy Kittens: Kittens reportedly sold with pre-existing conditions such as upper respiratory infections, eye infections, underdeveloped nasal openings, skin conditions, and being underweight.
- Lack of Transparency and Timely Communication: Messages going unanswered, and a failure to provide essential vet information for newly purchased, sick kittens.
- Poor Post-Sale Support: The breeder reportedly offered no compassion or adequate information when contacted about sick kittens, instead blaming the buyer and threatening negative review repercussions.
- Potential Spread of Illness: The spread of a skin condition from a newly acquired kitten to existing pets, indicating a potential biosecurity risk.
- Disregard for Customer Complaints: A reported dismissive attitude towards a BBB complaint.
For contact, A&F Persian Cats can be reached by phone at (812) 618-5509 or via mobile at +1 812-618-5509. Their address is 8520 Weaver Rd, St Louisville, OH 43071, USA. Given the nature of the reviews, it is highly advisable for any potential buyer to exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence, including verifying any claims regarding health, vaccinations, and registration directly and independently, before considering a purchase from this establishment. Communication via these channels, based on customer experiences, may not always be reliable or compassionate, especially concerning post-purchase issues.
In conclusion, for individuals in the Ohio region seeking a Persian cat, the information available regarding A&F Persian Cats in St. Louisville presents significant red flags that necessitate extreme caution. While the general desire to "shop local" is commendable, the suitability of this particular establishment for locals appears questionable based on reported experiences. The recurring themes of kittens being sold with severe health issues, a lack of provided CFA registration paperwork, poor or hostile post-sale communication, and a reported disregard for customer complaints via formal channels like the BBB, paint a concerning picture. Ethical breeders prioritize the health and welfare of their animals, provide complete and accurate documentation, offer transparent communication, and stand behind the health of the kittens they sell. The experiences shared by customers suggest that these fundamental aspects of responsible breeding may be lacking at A&F Persian Cats. Therefore, for Ohio residents, while the option to purchase Persian kittens exists, the associated risks related to kitten health, genetic predispositions, and potential financial and emotional distress appear to be substantial. It is strongly recommended that prospective buyers seeking a healthy, well-documented Persian kitten from a reputable source explore other breeders in Ohio or surrounding states who can provide verifiable health guarantees, complete veterinary records, and positive, consistent customer feedback that reflects ethical breeding practices and compassionate post-sale support. Thorough research and direct engagement with references from other satisfied buyers are crucial steps before committing to any purchase, especially when dealing with such significant concerns.

A&F Persian Cats Reviews
I purchased at kitten near Christmas and for months tried to get my CFA registration paperwork. Many of my messages went unanswered so eventually I filed a complaint with the BBB to which Ed replied “no biggie I’m not registered with them anyway”. He never replied to their investigation either but they did publish the complaint on their site. Needless to say I never received my paperwork. After reading the review about the sick kitten I felt obligated to share my experience as well. My kitten has under developed nasal openings, had an upper respiratory infection and has suffered with a skin condition since I got her. The skin condition has spread to my other 2 Persians that have never had a skin issue.I must agree with the other reviewer that this is the true definition of a backyard breeder out for the money We do love our kitten but would never recommend this breeder to anyone
Jul 03, 2022 · Diana KellarGot a kitten from A&F on Sunday afternoon kitten came to me sneezing with watery eyes. Ed assured me this was normal behavior I took his word due to him having such positive reviews and knowing that cats can sometimes get a case of the sneezes just like humans when my kitten woke up Monday morning she was visibly ill eyes crusted shut and nose full of hard boogers I reached out to Ed at A&F hoping for feedback and relieved nothing! I was able to get her into a vet this morning and she was diagnosed with an eye infection along with a severe upper respiratory infection too and deemed as very under weight at less then a 1lb at over 8weeks I reached back out to A&F this time slightly more frustrated because now not only did I have to take her to an er vet due to illness that the vet said she had to of came with but he was still yet to reply and send me vet info so my vet could know what vaccines she had received since upon picking her up he didn't have that info. He finally replied and became very nasty blaming me and stating the vet was just out for money and he had no compassion at all and threated me of I left a bad review I honestly never reached out to bash him and had no intention of even writing a negative review was just looking for compassion and for him to give me the adequate info on the kitten but Instead he called me crazy and bashed me! He is still yet to give me the certification or vet records for my poor sick kitten or acknowledge that she was sick upon him selling her to me! I just pray my kitten is okay! I spoke with another lady who relieved a kitten from same liter luckily her kitten just as sick but also was diagnosed with a upper respiratory infection! This definitely is a true definition of a backyard uncompassionate breeder who is only about the $!
