Jan 31, 2025 · Rick CioffiGreat variety of fresh water shrimp! That's what I go there for, but they have everything from neon tetras to salt water stock I've never seen before! Very nice staff! FYI-Pictures are of my own tanks at home with yellow shrimp from European Aquatics.
Mar 09, 2025 · Richard PThis place is one of a kind in the greater boston area. I’ve been searching for the right LFS that had a great selection of fish, plants, and related items but could not find the right one. It was when I encountered European Aquatics is when I found my place. Amazing service, with great staff. Highly recommend if you are searching for a great LFS that isn’t Petsmart nor Petco.
Apr 14, 2025 · Danny TranEvery time I buy fresh water fish from EA, I fish out corpses within the next few weeks. Every time I buy fish from other pro fish stores, I don’t fish out corpses within the next few weeks. It’s not a coincidence. I thought it was but now it’s been long enough to know it’s a pattern. I guess quarantine, observation and medication is a good thing to do when you sell fish. I’m sad about it because I thought I liked this store. Good plant and hardscape selection. No, I don’t do tanks wrong. I have 10+ aquariums in my room filled with healthy and robust fish I had to drive all the way to NH to buy. Why is aquarium industry so dead around Boston???
Jun 18, 2025 · Piotr PardaThis is going to be a sad review. I liked this store and I hoped I could develop a good relationship with them. How can I put it to avoid being accused of being a crappy fish keeper who can't get the water quality right...I have 10+ fresh water planted tanks of various sizes, all with thriving communities of fish from various parts of the word. Over the past year and a half I have been buying fresh water fish from EA among other stores including some in NH. Unfortunately the fish from EA have been the ones with the highest mortality rate and by that I mean, practically none of the fish I bought within the last year from stores in NH died on me yet. Some others I bought in Boston area stores did. In fact most of the fish I bought from EA especially died within weeks or months. It became clearer after five of the new fish I purchased from them last week died within a few days while the school of cardinals and corys from NH and Framingham stores remained healthy. I still worry the illness may have spread.I asked them once if they quarantine/medicate new arrivals.Nope! They don't. The fish arrive and get sold as soon as the next day.I would highly recommend to at least observe the new fish before selling them for at least two weeks if not longer. It's a common practice. Just take a good look at your fish and ask yourself an honest question: "are these fish truly ready to go into our customers' tanks?"It doesn't have to be a Russian roulette every time.I still wish the European Aquatics all the best. It's a dying industry in these parts of the world and having a reliable store would be nice.
