UPDATE:At that point, I contacted the pet store to inquire about the insurance they advertised on their website. I was given an email address to reach out to on Monday midday, but received no response until late in the afternoon after multiple calls. By then, my puppy urgently needed care, and I was left with a $2,500 bill. The response I received from the pet store stated that I could sign up for their insurance (though I had already purchased my own, which wasn’t active yet), return the puppy for another one, receive store credit, or have them cover the cost of his medicine.Returning the puppy was never an option for us—he had already become part of our family, and many of my coworkers had become emotionally invested in him. I responded, requesting assistance with his medication. After hours of no response, I sent another email expressing my frustration over the unacceptable delay in addressing such an urgent matter. With no direct phone contact, communication felt impossible. After a couple of days, due to financial constraints, my puppy had to be discharged from the hospital. The vet provided me with all his medication and instructions for ongoing care.The following morning, I had to take him to another hospital that offered a payment plan because he was getting worse. While there, I continued updating the pet store, still hoping for assistance. The hospital assessed him, and his care was estimated to cost an additional $7,000. This morning, I received an email from the pet store stating they would not be able to assist, as they were standing by their policy of exchanging the puppy or offering store credit.This left me with serious concerns—if I returned my sick puppy, what would they do with him? Would they provide the medical care I was already giving, or would they simply do nothing? If they were willing to seek treatment, wouldn’t it make more sense to assist me instead?I regret not thoroughly vetting this store before purchasing from them. After reading Yelp reviews detailing similar situations—where sick puppies were sold and the same representative was slow to respond—I realized I was in for a major loss. I simply want to make people aware of this company and my experience.______________________________It’s been just a week since we brought home our puppy, Oreo, and already he’s had to visit the vet hospital for Parvo—a highly dangerous virus that can be fatal if left untreated.We got Oreo on Wednesday evening, but he didn’t eat. Thinking it was just nerves from being in a new environment, we didn’t worry too much at first. On Thursday, I took him to work with me, and it took him eight hours to eat just half a cup of food. By Friday, his appetite hadn’t improved, so I suggested to my husband that we mix some wet food with his dry kibble to encourage him to eat. Unfortunately, that night, he began vomiting, and we assumed he had simply eaten too much.By Saturday, the vomiting continued, and diarrhea started. Still thinking it could be a reaction to the wet food, we didn’t suspect anything more serious. But by Sunday, his stool contained blood, and he completely stopped eating or drinking. First thing Monday morning, we rushed him to the vet, where he was diagnosed with both Parvo and Kennel Cough.I reached out to Pettito to inquire about the 30-day insurance policy advertised on their website and was provided with an email address for further communication.

Going onto 4 months of having our fur baby. He has been the absolute best companion and I can’t imagine life without him. Petito has the best selection of fur babies and we cannot wait to get another cockapoo from here 🤍

Great experience with Pettito finding our perfect fur baby. We’ve always somehow lucked into adopting, but after our last baby passed started looking and were frustrated with the process and decided to look for a breed that suits our lives best. That also became exhaustive. We were reluctant to go retail (known for using puppy mills) but called Pettito and they helped us locate exactly what we wanted and directed us to their Arlington store. We were very impressed with their breeders, how they keep the dogs, their knowledge and business practices to keep the dogs healthy. So much different than any other retail provider. We can hope with the perfect fur-addition to our family.
