I cannot express enough how grateful we are to Dr. Stuhr and his wonderful staff. My 9 year old lab mix Theo who is diabetic, developed cataracts almost overnight. It was so scary and confusing for him to all of a sudden not be able to see and we were just devastated.Dr. Stuhr was recommended by my vet and we made the appointment right away. They were able to see us that same week and schedule the surgery. Thankfully, it was just in time, since his eye pressure in his right eye rose to a dangerous level the night before the surgery, and we almost lost his eye. Dr Stuhr was able to save it and remove the cataracts so our baby could see again! The whole process from start to finish was amazingly smooth and all the girls there are so warm, knowledgeable and efficient. They really made Theo feel comfortable and safe. I cannot recommend them enough. If I could give 10 stars I would!First pic is before surgery , second pic is after surgery and third is on our way back for our 6 week checkup 😊 - Suzanne Toussaint

Animal Eye Clinic Wilton Introduce

For pet owners in Connecticut, the health and well-being of our animal companions are a top priority. While routine veterinary care is essential, some conditions, especially those related to the eyes, require specialized expertise. This is where a veterinary ophthalmologist comes in—a veterinarian who has completed advanced training to diagnose and treat a wide range of eye disorders in animals. In Wilton, CT, the Animal Eye Clinic is a trusted destination for this specialized care, often receiving referrals from general practice veterinarians across the region. Their team is dedicated to providing expert and compassionate treatment for pets facing everything from common issues like corneal ulcers to more complex conditions like cataracts.

The Animal Eye Clinic stands out as a critical resource for the Connecticut community. They are not a general practice vet; their entire focus is on eye health. This specialization allows them to offer a depth of knowledge and skill that is essential for preserving a pet's vision and improving their quality of life. The clinic’s role as a referral practice highlights the trust they have earned from other veterinarians, who recognize the need for a specialist to handle intricate eye conditions. The team is equipped with the necessary diagnostic tests and tools to accurately assess eye problems and develop a precise treatment plan, whether it involves medical management or surgical intervention.

A major source of anxiety for any pet owner is when their animal is not feeling well, especially when their vision is affected. The staff at the Animal Eye Clinic understands this stress and works hard to create a calm and supportive environment. From the moment you arrive, their team is focused on making both you and your pet feel comfortable and safe. The compassionate approach, combined with their technical expertise, makes the clinic a reassuring place to be during a difficult and scary time. They are committed to providing not just excellent medical care but also emotional support and clear communication to help pet owners navigate their pet's health challenges.
