When considering Banfield Pet Hospital for your pet’s care, it is important for Alabamian pet owners to weigh the benefits against the potential challenges. The hospital's focus on preventive care through its wellness plans can be a significant advantage for those who want to budget for routine visits and vaccinations. The national network of clinics is also a convenience for those who travel. However, it is also important to consider the experiences of other clients. One review highlights a serious issue where a client's warning about a biting dog was dismissed, leading to a staff injury and a difficult situation for the pet owner. This illustrates the importance of clear communication and trust with the veterinary staff. Another review mentions a frustration with a financial issue that prevented a pet from being seen, which also highlights the need for open and upfront communication about policies. While these reviews do not speak for all experiences at the clinic, they provide a valuable perspective for potential clients. Ultimately, choosing a veterinary practice is a personal decision based on your pet's needs and your comfort level with the practice's policies and approach. For pet owners in Huntsville who prioritize a structured, preventive care plan and the convenience of a national network, Banfield Pet Hospital may be a suitable choice. However, it is always recommended to have a thorough discussion with the staff about their protocols and policies to ensure they align with your expectations for your pet's care.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My friend brought her late mother’s dog to Banfield for a rabies vaccine and clearly warned staff that he bites and must be muzzled. They dismissed her warnings with mockery, didn’t muzzle him, and a staff member ended up hospitalized. The vaccine was never given, and Banfield called animal control—sticking her with a $600 quarantine fee. She did everything right, but Banfield’s negligence and unprofessionalism left her punished for their mistake. I strongly caution anyone from trusting Banfield with their pets’ care.
August 24 · Josephina ReneéHad a appointment set for the day and was told that my boys Briggs and Patton couldn't be seen. Had financial issues a year and a half ago and my account with them was written off, so was unable to be seen and wasn't told how to resolve the issue by staff there. Would've highly recommended this clinic if not for this inconvenience, am also going to talk to my roommate about moving his cat to another pet clinic.
July 03 · Chris KurowskiI love Banfield Pet Hospital! I have taken my granddog, Nilla, to the Jones Valley location twice while dog sitting. Last year for an emergency when she had a skin infection, and this year for her comprehensive exam. The staff is amazing and super friendly. They are wonderful with Nilla, and very thorough. The vet provides a report of everything done during the visit.I highly recommend this Hospital and get the wellness plan for your pet. It is well worth it !
July 18 · Karen ChristmasTook our newly re-homed senior Schnauzer for initial visit and checkup. Everyone was so nice and caring. Never did Hollywood feel anxious or upset. The veterinarian was very personable, patient, answered all my questions and was very thorough. This is one busy little place so be prepared for an extended time there even with an appt. Everyone gets the same thorough treatment. Would recommend.
January 10 · Karen MuellerHorrible experience. I brought in my dog who gets scared at the vet and they refused to let me be present during the appointment. I told them to call me if there were any issues and I could come by to be present for the appointment. They refused and did not see her all day instead leaving her in a kennel for 8 hours without letting her out. I came by at the end of the day to get her to be told they did not treat her and demanded I sedate her for her next appointment. My other dog is on a wellness plan here. Do not do the wellness plan. I found out later that they charged my other dog $800 for a checkup and blood test. The plan sounds like a good idea but what they do is run every expensive test they possibly can to charge it to you for months. 6 months later I am still in debt for one appointment when I tried to cancel. DO NOT USE ANY Banfield's payment play. Stay away from this vet they are amateur and do not care for your dog but crave your wallet.
