Horrible experience – avoid Dr. Earl at all costsLet me start by saying the front desk staff and nurses at this clinic are ALL fantastic—courteous, professional, and clearly love animals. Unfortunately, that’s where the good experience ends.Dr. Earl seems to care more about sales than pets. Every visit feels like a sales pitch, from pushing expensive prescription diets to suggesting unnecessary treatments. Our Blue Nose Bully XL is a healthy, gentle giant who weighs between 100–105 lbs—could he lose a few pounds SURE! who can’t? . But Dr. Earl immediately zeroed in on his size as a problem and recommended a prescription diet… conveniently sold through their office.Worse, despite our dog being incredibly calm, warm, and friendly—he literally wouldn’t hurt a fly—Dr. Earl gave off such a strange energy that even our mellow pup became visibly uncomfortable around him. Naturally, Dr. Earl’s solution? A sedative. Seriously? Sedating a calm dog just because he doesn’t respond well to you? That was the final straw. We won’t be coming back, and I absolutely do not recommend this vet if you want someone who actually prioritizes your pet’s well-being over padding their wallet. Dr. Earl left us disappointed, frustrated, and deeply concerned. - Andrew Kleczynski

### Introduction / Overview

For pet owners across New Jersey, securing compassionate and expert veterinary care is a cornerstone of responsible pet ownership. In Long Valley, Long Valley Animal Hospital at 59 E Mill Rd offers a local option for addressing the health needs of beloved animal companions. As a veterinary clinic, their aim is to provide a range of medical services to support the well-being of pets in the community.

It's important for prospective clients to consider various facets of a clinic's operation, including both the positive aspects often associated with support staff and the experiences with medical advice and veterinarian interactions. Customer feedback provides valuable insights into what to expect. While the front desk staff and nurses at Long Valley Animal Hospital are consistently described as "fantastic—courteous, professional, and clearly love animals," experiences with specific veterinarians can vary. One reviewer, for instance, expressed concerns about a particular doctor's approach, stating, "Dr. Earl seems to care more about sales than pets. Every visit feels like a sales pitch, from pushing expensive prescription diets to suggesting unnecessary treatments." This highlights the importance of open communication with your veterinarian and feeling comfortable with the treatment recommendations provided.

Another long-term client raised concerns about past medical advice, noting that while the clinic is "not responsible for our pups DNA or the care that he received from subsequent vets," decisions like early neutering, which they were encouraged to do, "have been linked to multiple issues later in their lives." This feedback underscores the significance of veterinary practices staying "up to date with the latest literature on animal health," and pet owners feeling empowered to ask questions and research decisions that have long-term implications for their pets' health.
