★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Worst place EVER!!! My cat died 5 days after my visit to help her. I took my beloved kitty who was 16 but NEVER sick. For the first time as she caught a cold. I waited several days as Internet instructed for a cat cold to heal. Then her eyes began draining this brown fluid and when I looked up symptoms it said it could be conjunctivitis (pink eye) Her symptoms matched perfectly with description It gave me off the Internet. It was at this point that I took her to Banfield to get looked at because it was obvious that she was not well just by looking at her. Her muzzle had actually turned gray from its beautiful Brown color, this also Matched the symptoms I was given. She saw a doctor Hoffman. Who took her out of my presence which I did not like To go in with them for her to be examined But he would not allow me to be in exam room with her. About 10 minutes later, he came out with my Kitty telling me that she’ll be fine. For me to let it run its course and she’ll be ok. I looked at him and said” Aren’t you going to even Write her a prescription” You can see she is ill just by looking at her face. He sent me away with no prescription. A few days later, SHE DIED!!!The Banfield hospital I went to was in Canoga Park and she was seen by a Dr. Hoffman. He was negligent in my opinion. When I ask for the notes, It read as though he’d asked me Take different tests to see what was really wrong with Her and I had declined. He never once asked me any question about any test that he wanted to do on her to find out what was going on. The notes were a total fabrication. I was not asked one question about any Test to give her. Bottom line it was negligence On the part of Dr. Hoffman. I would never take an animal to Banfield They are not in safe hands. I am devastated.
March 13 · Linda MorenoIf I could give negative stars, I would.I rescued a beautiful puppy just over a week ago and immediately brought him to Banfield for a thorough check-up. I mentioned to the nurses that he had soft stool and asked them to check everything. They sent us home with a couple of things and that was it.That same night, my puppy began projectile vomiting nonstop, so I rushed him back in. This time, they said they were doing an extensive check—something I was told had already been done during our first visit. Why wasn’t this handled thoroughly from the start? They took multiple stool samples, which only made me wonder why it wasn’t done on day one. When he was discharged, I asked to speak with the doctor. I mentioned his eyes were red and was told, “Don’t worry about it, we’ll check next week.” The second medication they prescribed still wasn’t helping, so I called the next day—only to be told, “The doctor is busy. If there’s an issue, take him to the ER.” I explained that I didn’t want to expose him unnecessarily and asked again to speak with the doctor. The answer was simply: “No, you can’t.”I ended up consulting another vet outside of Banfield, who reassured me it wasn’t an emergency and to wait it out. My puppy did improve after a few days—but then developed a cherry eye, exactly where I had originally pointed out the redness. I called Banfield again, expressed my disappointment, and was promised my concerns would be passed to the head nurse or doctor and I would get a call back. Over 24 hours later still no call back.Out of desperation, I took him to another Banfield location in Northridge. The difference was night and day. They accepted us immediately, had the doctor see him on the spot, addressed all my concerns, and reassured me. Why couldn’t my assigned Banfield location have shown the same basic care and professionalism? This location’s lack of communication, disregard for my puppy’s wellbeing, and refusal to let me speak to the doctor is completely unprofessional and unacceptable especially for a rescue puppy who has already been through so much.Save your puppy the anxiety and yourself the stress—do not go to this Banfield location.
August 12 · Inbal DanonI brought my dog after killing around 69 fleas on him. They said they scanned him twice and found nothing… of course that as soon as I picked him up I found 5-6 more easily.I called to speak to the doctor, as it might “only” be fleas, but they’re supposed to care for my pet- how can they miss such a thing? Of course she wasn’t available to talk and I was promised a call back. 4 hours later, I called again, and the RUDE reception lady told me with an attitude ”she’s doing more important things atm, and now she has not 1, but 2 notes of calling you. She’ll call until 6pm”.Needless to say I never got a call back. We’re brining in our MOST IMPORTANT thing to us, and you guys don’t even have the time to give us a decent customer service.Also—-My dog used to go to another location very happy. Recently , every time I take him to this location he’s crying and shaking. We keep giving this place business therefore they don’t give a flying fig about our dogs!!!!
June 09 · Intex DesignI took my dog in yesterday for a 4:30 appointment. No one came in to let me know they were running behind, and I ended up waiting over an hour for the vet. I didn’t leave until around 7:00 PM, and I left feeling incredibly disappointed and frustrated. My dog is 15 years old and has been a patient here since he was four weeks old. He’s been having issues with urination, and I came in hoping for some clear guidance or next steps. Instead of walking me through a plan or starting with basic tests, the vet immediately said that we needed to do all these tests—totaling over $900—without explaining alternatives or a more step-by-step approach. The service felt cold and rushed, and it seemed like the focus was more on charging fees than actually helping my dog. After so many years of loyalty to this clinic, I’m honestly heartbroken by the way we were treated.
June 04 · Isel CollinsDisappointed, took my little dog in because of diarrhea. Told them numerous times that he was not throwing up, just diarrhea. The next day his diarrhea was worse. I found out that they had not given or prescribed him anything for the diarrhea, they treated for nausea which he was not having. I spent $230 and had to take him to another banfield and spend an additional $277 which I really didn’t have to spend. Had this location addressed the real issue I would not have had to spend the additional money. That location was supposed to call me back. I’m still waiting. The other location in Northridge fixed the problem. The location in canoga park didn’tStill waiting on a call back, I don’t think they will (2 days later). No worries, I’ll never go back there
