Brooklyn-Canterbury Large Animal Clinic Introduce
For farmers, equestrians, and owners of various livestock across Connecticut, particularly in the eastern region, securing highly specialized and responsive veterinary care for large animals is an absolute necessity. The Brooklyn-Canterbury Large Animal Clinic, located right here in Canterbury, CT, stands as a critical resource dedicated solely to the health and well-being of your equine, bovine, caprine, ovine, and porcine companions, among others. Unlike small animal clinics, this practice brings the expertise directly to your farm or stable, understanding the unique challenges and requirements of large animal medicine. This specialized focus ensures that your valuable animals receive knowledgeable and timely care, whether it's for routine wellness or an urgent emergency.
At the heart of Brooklyn-Canterbury Large Animal Clinic is Dr. Alice Ennis, a veterinarian highly praised for her in-depth knowledge and clear communication. She exemplifies a forward-thinking approach, blending extensive experience with the latest advancements in equine and large animal veterinary research. For local clients, this means having a veterinarian who not only understands the complexities of large animal conditions but also takes the time to explain diagnoses and treatment plans in a clear, respectful manner. Brooklyn-Canterbury Large Animal Clinic is conveniently based at 132 Westminster Rd, Canterbury, CT 06331, USA. While the clinic itself is a central point for administrative needs, their primary mode of operation is mobile, meaning their expert veterinarians travel directly to your farm or property. This crucial aspect of their service makes them incredibly accessible for large animal owners throughout Eastern Connecticut and parts of Rhode Island. Towns such as Brooklyn, Sterling, Plainfield, North Stonington, and beyond can benefit from their on-site veterinary care.
The nature of large animal veterinary care often necessitates a mobile approach, as transporting an ailing or injured horse or cow to a fixed clinic can be logistically challenging, stressful for the animal, and potentially worsen their condition. By bringing the veterinary services directly to the animal's environment, Brooklyn-Canterbury Large Animal Clinic ensures prompt attention and treatment in familiar surroundings, which aids in recovery and reduces anxiety. This accessibility is a fundamental advantage for local farmers and horse owners, allowing for efficient and effective veterinary intervention without the added burden of transport.

Brooklyn-Canterbury Large Animal Clinic Reviews
10 STARS for Dr Alice! She KNOWS her field. She takes time explaining the condition for which the symptoms are the reason for your call. She is clear, very clear, on what to do with your Large Animal between the visit and the followup. She assumes the customer is intelligent and doing the right thing, never talks down to any client. She is a foreward thinker and uses every piece of experience she has had in her past along with up to date equine/large animal vet research and study. The reason why I have to give a 4 star is because there is a high charge for travel fees for being 31 miles away from Canterbury, wherein there are no highways.
May 28, 2024 · Mary VonaThe vet that came out should have got five stars came out immediately for emergency call very personable she knows how to talk to people she knows her Field well The big disconnect was from the woman in the office that was the secretary when I called I thought I was getting into a few hundred dollar emergency visit turned out to be close to $700 for two calves When I went up to pay remainder of the bill because I didn't expect such a high bill at Farm came two days later to pay bill and get receipt told me she could not. She would email it to me not very personable at all not easy to talk to On top of it all this was crippling to my farm now I have to sell the two cow I was raising for my Family due to such high cost incurred my final conclusion is if money is not an option when it comes to raising your animals for your own needs and not pets this is not a very feasible option to call this place they were able to save the cows life from pneumonia but for a $700 visit and I wasn't left with vials of antibiotic or anything to treat down the line when I call out my equestrian vet they always make sure I have extra medication because they know the expense that it put on my Farm be. Cautious when calling make sure they explain pricing clearly I think because they thought I was a first time customer that to give it to him but honestly it's crippling to my farm especially when I had to work two weeks to pay that bill.
