What is worth choosing Brown Veterinary Hospital? The choice comes down to a few key factors that consistently set them apart. The first is their compassionate approach, which is evident in the care and empathy they show to every animal and owner. This is particularly crucial during stressful situations, such as a sudden illness or end-of-life care. One client's review highlights this perfectly, describing how the staff at Brown Veterinary Hospital went above and beyond during a pet health crisis. The client, who had never visited the hospital before, was welcomed with kindness and understanding during a chaotic and emotional time. They felt supported, not rushed, and received crucial information about their pet's condition and potential future care. This ability to make a difficult experience a little brighter is a testament to the team's professionalism and compassion.
Another compelling reason to choose this hospital is their broad expertise, especially with exotic animals. In many regions, finding a veterinarian with experience in treating birds, rabbits, and ferrets can be a significant challenge. Brown Veterinary Hospital fills this gap, providing a much-needed resource for owners of these unique pets. This specialization, combined with their strong foundation in canine and feline care, makes them a versatile and reliable choice for a household with multiple types of animals. The hospital’s emphasis on preventative care is also a major draw, as it aligns with the modern pet owner's desire to keep their animals healthy and happy for as long as possible. By focusing on wellness check-ups, vaccinations, and dental care, they help pet owners invest in their pet's long-term health, potentially preventing more serious and costly issues down the road. While one review mentioned a misunderstanding about appointment times and a busy waiting room, the vast majority of feedback points to a dedicated team that is committed to providing high-quality care. This commitment to both the well-being of the animal and the peace of mind of the owner is a powerful combination, making Brown Veterinary Hospital a trusted name in Terre Haute veterinary care.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have never written a review before but with Brown I had to. They are truly the best Vet I have ever been to. My elder cat's health rapidly declined overnight and I called Brown as soon as they opened because it was the first vet that popped up for emergencies when I looked vets up. And even though I had never been there before and they had no history on my pet they still were kind and understanding and allowed me to bring her in to immediately get checked out. From the very moment I walked in they were incredible. I was a crying mess and they didnt rush me and helped me feel comfortable and understood my feelings. My cat is okay as of right now and I know it's because of Brown Veterinary and their care they provided her. When I asked about euthanization if something went wrong over the next few days they gave me information about the process and were considerate the whole time while explaining it. I have never dealt with the death of a pet and I was so scared about what would happen and now either way I know she'll be cared for and looked after. Thank you Brown Veterinary for giving my cat the attention and care she needed and for making this dark time a little brighter.
October 28 · Mack MarieI recently moved to the Terre Haute area and needed to have my cat seen for tapeworms. I made an appointment a week ahead of time and when the time came for the appointment we arrived 15 minutes early. The waiting room was full of dogs and my cat became very upset because of their barking. I asked if they had a room I could wait in and was told no. I waited and waited passed my appointment time to be called back to see the Dr so I asked how much longer. Finally an assistant came and got us in a room. Again I waited and waited. No Dr ever came. I finally yelled out because I could hear several people talking and laughing on the other side of the door. A girl then came in and said you are a "work in" not an appointment and the Dr will be in when he's finished. I told her I had an appointment over a week ago but she wouldn't listen. I finally packed my cat up and left. Now I have to fight them for my REQUIRED DEPOSIT of $50! Also can't get anyone to answer the telephone when I call. I have to leave messages that are not returned. 3 girls at the reception desk you'd think one could pick up the phone! Grrr looking for a different vet now.
December 10 · SusanExcellent service fast and efficient. This will be my new vet. My poor girl ( pup) had so many fleas and had an infection because she is allergic to fleas. Cost is a lot better than most vets. Decent affordable price.
November 08 · Lety HI love Dr. Brown!! Have been with her since she was at the airport clinic. How...the staff NEVER RETURN YOUR CALLS!!! and recently a vet tech had the power (she thought) to get very rude and unprofessional at 25th st. Facility. They had our appt completely wrong..after I even repeated the time day and facility back to the receptionist when she booked my appt. Then we were told they didn't have time to work us in. This isn't the first time they have gotten things mixed up or failed to notify us about a issue. Sadly I am switching vets now. I hope Dr. Brown finds out how mixed up the office has become before she looses MANY patients.
November 14 · Karen EscottKind vet assistant and vet, answered all our questions and provided all the quotes I needed for our gsd puppy.
