Coastal Animal Clinic - Tampa Reviews
I no longer trust this clinic. My two dogs have been coming here for the last year, since we moved to Tampa. However, our first appointment took over 2.5 hours. Which is unacceptable for an annual check up. I had to take a half day off of work just to drive here, stay at the appointment and go home when our previous vet did an annual exam in about 30 mins. Secondly, they take the dogs to the back to do anything and it makes me uncomfortable. I would like to see what they are doing that is taking so long. The next time we came it was much more efficient visit. When looking into spaying for our mini Aussie, they estimated us some egregious amount. So we went somewhere else for that (which was ⅓ of the cost). Last week we took our mini doodle in because she had diarrhea for 3 days, and her last BM had some blood. The clinic told my husband that a little bit of blood is normal and not to be concerned then they prescribed her 3 medications. One of which was dewormer. They prescribed the dewormer as follows: 5ml 2x per day for a week. But they only gave us 25ml total in the vial. 5*2=10 and 10*7=70. So either they gave incorrect amount of meds or they gave the wrong instructions (give for 3 days not a week). We called to ask for clarification when we realized they didn’t give enough medication. They have not returned our call or prescribed more medication. It’s been 3 days since we originally called. Our dog should be done with her medications tonight. They consistently show a lack of concern for the pets they treat and the careless attitude has really lost them my trust with my pets.
Mar 03, 2025 · Melinda RaineyThis was the first time visiting Coastal through the recommendation of my vet who was booked up on appointments that day. My little 3-month-old yorkiepoo had a bacterial ear infection and I needed her to be seen right away and Coastal was great fitting me in to see them. It was a wonderful experience as the entire doctor's office was professional, kind and explained with great detail what would be done what the cost would be and allowed us to make decisions about the care at that time. Can't say enough good things will definitely be coming back and recommend to anyone who's looking for a wonderful veterinarian.
Apr 12, 2025 · Carol BlancoI just started going to Coastal to care for an elderly dog with multiple issues. Everyone we interacted with was kind , helpful and professional. Exam and testing was thorough . I was very satisfied with the care my dog received , so much so , that I drive across town to go to them , when my old vet is only 10 minutes away, but it's worth it , Knowing you're getting quality care .
Apr 25, 2025 · LindaAlthough last Monday was such a heartbreaking day, as after 17 years together, my cat Buddy was ready to cross the rainbow bridge. The staff were all so kind, comforting and compassionate during this difficult time. Today I received a card that they sent with the staff each sending personalized messages of love. They included paper prints of his paws and a tuft of fur as a remembrance. I can’t thank the tremendous staff enough for being such empathetic and professional human beings. Much love… ❤️
Mar 11, 2025 · Aaron MahoneyThey were nice to my pet and helped me with her flea medicine. However when they recommended that I use the online pharmacy and use the online discount code, it was a terrible experience. The code didn’t work - that’s not a big deal. Unfortunately it has been a week and the order STILL hasn’t been approved. I called twice and no one has been able to help with this.
