Coit Animal Clinic Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For pet owners in Michigan, finding a reliable and compassionate animal clinic is a cornerstone of responsible pet ownership. Coit Animal Clinic in Grand Rapids stands as a long-standing fixture in the community, dedicated to providing core veterinary services for both cats and dogs. The clinic's philosophy is rooted in a commitment to pet health and delivering care with a personal touch. While the clinic has faced some challenges related to staffing and customer service, as some reviews indicate, it is important to note the perspective of those who have had positive experiences. A partnership with Cheshire Dental highlights their specialized services, and a kind, informative staff member was able to provide excellent recommendations even when they could not serve a client's pet. This suggests that the clinic is dedicated to helping pets get the care they need, even if it is not directly from them. They are a smaller, community-focused clinic that aims to provide essential care, from routine vaccinations to general surgery. Their goal is to be a consistent and trusted resource for local pet owners, focusing on the basics of pet health to ensure your furry family members live a long and healthy life. The team strives to be helpful and informative, providing pet health information and working with clients to manage their pet's well-being.

Services Offered
Coit Animal Clinic provides a range of essential veterinary services focused on the fundamental health and wellness of cats and dogs. Their services are designed to cover key areas of preventative and general care. They are not a 24-hour emergency clinic and have a smaller staff, which influences their scheduling and ability to handle urgent cases, as noted in some client reviews. - Vaccines: Routine vaccinations to protect pets from common diseases.
- Dental Cleanings and Extractions: Comprehensive dental care, including routine cleanings and tooth extractions. The clinic has a partnership with Cheshire Dental for specialized dental services. Note that there may be size limitations for dental procedures.
- Digital Radiology: Advanced diagnostic imaging using digital radiology to get a clear view of a pet's internal health.
- General Surgery: Performing common surgical procedures.
- Blood Testing: In-house blood tests and other diagnostic services to help diagnose and monitor pet health.
- Pharmacy: A fully-stocked on-site pharmacy, as well as an online pharmacy, for easy access to pet medications.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I heard about Coit Animal Clinic looking for a dog dentist, and they're partnered with Cheshire Dental. I read a few reviews about bad customer service, so wanted to post that I just had a GREAT customer service experience.Ultimately, my dog is bigger than the size (50 lb limit for dental!) the clinic is able to take for dental, but the person I spoke with was kind, helpful, and took the time to talk with the vet to make sure if they'd make an exception for my dog, and make a recommendation of another place to go for larger dog dental care.Kind, informative, and very helpful.
June 18 · Kelsey WotilaSince we moved to this area, we loved Coit. After Dr. PHELP's medical emergency we've noticed a massive decline in their customer service. It always seems to be the same older woman. She has refused to make appointments, even though it was clearly what Dr. PHELPS wanted. Refused to schedule surgeries and most recently my dog's suffering from what i believe is an ear infection. The same older woman answered and told me they had no availability for over 2 weeks... since people were having vacations and were under staffed, so they told me to take her to emergency clinic. My cat had a severe uti, and we were told to go elsewhere for that as well. If that is the customer service they want, they are loosing myself and probably some family members as customers.
July 20 · AndreaI am so happy bringing my dogs and cats to Dr. Mike! Him and his family that helps him are so down to earth and realistic when it comes to the care of fur babies! They show such love and patience, and do such a good job educating on good realistic care! I’m so very satisfied going there!
January 24 · Wendy KempkersDr. Mike is great, but the customer service has really fallen apart in the last couple of years. They routinely do not answer the phone, nor can you leave a message. I called back, and it was clear that they simply took the phone off the hook. Then, the front desk worker asked if I was on their email list. I have no idea if I am on their email list. So, I asked her to check for me, and she "didn't know how." Like I said, Dr. Mike is great, but due to ongoing problems with poor customer service and rude support staff (who make you feel like you are bothering them), I will go elsewhere.
February 12 · Laura JorgensonWe have begun to care for another pair of kittens, Pali and Poppi. Our other pair, Cedar and Gretzky, lived for 22 years with help from all the care givers at Coit Animal Clinic.
