Laser surgery can be used to replace a scalpel in many routine surgeries. There are many advantages a laser can offer your pet which would make it more comfortable after its surgical procedure. One advantage would be the pain factor. The laser energy moves through the skin and seals nerve ending meaning less pain postoperatively. It also seals small blood vessels as it cuts, which means less bleeding. With just a beam of intense light passing through the tissue, it doesn’t get crushed, torn or bruised so there is also less discomfort due to the decreased amount of trauma. Laser surgery can be used for a wide variety of different procedures in dogs, cats, birds and other pets. This procedure can be used for spays, neuters, declaws, cyst, tumor and wart removals. It is also very helpful when being used around the ears and in the mouth. Your veterinarian can inform you as to whether or not your pets procedure can be performed with a laser.

Our innovative ultrasound technology aids in many diagnostic procedures. It gives our doctors the ability to “see inside” the patient, many times eliminating the need for invasive exploratory surgeries. We can obtain valuable information regarding urinary tract infections and tumor growth and development. Ultrasound guided biopsies can be obtained and the samples can be sent for pathology without the stress of extensive surgery. Full scale images with incredible clarity give greater diagnostic confidence.
- Lab Work
Our Laboratory has a lasercyte machine, a catalyst Dx and a snapshot Dx for blood testing. The lasercyte gives us a full 5 part white blood count (WBC) differential and comprehensive, red blood count (RBC) indices. These check for infections and anemia in dogs and cats. The catalyst Dx is used to monitor the health status of specific organs. We use this to check liver and kidney values before putting an animal under anesthesia. We can also check a full general health profile if the animal is sick. The snapshot Dx is used to test an animal’s thyroid level. An animal can produce too much thyroid hormone or not enough. Once we know where the thyroid level is, we can treat accordingly. We are also equipped to run urinalysis on your pet. This allows us to check for blood in the urine and also checks WBC and glucose. We can also measure the concentration of the urine and check for any crystals.

The IM3 Pro2000 Dental unit is used by many veterinarians and veterinary teaching universities around the world. Dentistry should not be thought of as cosmetic but rather a total health solution since periodontal disease also affects the heart, lungs, liver and kidneys. The Pro2000 dental system has many features including a high speed drill hand piece, a low speed motor, suction and a 3 way air/water syringe. The high speed drill features fiber-optic lighting which enables the veterinarian to see what he or she is doing. Overhead lighting is not suitable as their head gets in the way. The low speed motor is used for polishing the teeth. The lower speed and figure 8 movement of the polishing cup reduces the amount of heat generated as the tooth is polished. The suction tip has various strengths and a bacterial filter helping to prevent the pet from swallowing tartar and debris. The 3 way air/water syringe provides a flush or rinse using water or CLS (a chlorhexadine solution).

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences here. They are always so informative when you get a new puppy. They give you wonderful advice on whatever breed you have to make sure you’re aware of their specific needs to better care for your new pup. We always get right in when needed and they always have the preventative medicine on hand at a pretty affordable price. They treat our dogs like family and that’s what we love most because they are our family and we appreciate them being treated as such :) even our big “scary” Belgian Shepherd…they love him and aren’t afraid of him.
April 29 · Brooke WeaverThe first thing you will notice about Fairmont Veterinarian clinic, is the second you walk through the door, you’re greeted with smiling faces. The staff is so friendly and very helpful. The veterinarians are excellent and the pricing for the services are fair and affordable. They truly care about the animals well being and aren’t one of these places that will find a way to squeeze more money out of you. My French bulldog went in for a spay and for anyone who doesn’t know, they’re known for Brachial issues and the risks for anesthesia is higher for them, due to that. The staff was very reassuring that she would be just fine and they took every precaution to make sure everything went smoothly. It’s the day after her surgery and you’d never even know she had surgery. I have previously taken another dog to them and I have a cat who has seen them as well. If you want compassionate people who truly care about your pets well being, I highly suggest Fairmont Veterinary Clinic.Just to add, they do accept care credit if you need assistance in paying for your pets care.
April 02 · Beth ShafferI was not sure what to expect from the Vet Hospital staff. I was pleasantly surprised with the friendly staff. The entire staff treated us and my dog with a professional attitude. They had a complete knowledge of the medical care Zoey needed and provided it. The doctor and assistant explained the care she needed before any surgery could be performed. I could not disagree with them. I am looking forward for the follow-up visit and will follow thru with any further medical care Zoey requires. Thank you all.
April 17 · Anna MiscovichBest place all around..Just recently had to put my fur kitty Warrant to sleep due to FIP and I just want to thank Dr. Mascaro and Vet Tech Bobbi Jo for the compassion they showed especially with it being my first time ever having to euthanize one of my own..Also thanks to the rest of the staff there that day that showed their care and compassion towards me. They even sent me home with a paw print and a lock of his fur as well.
April 29 · Angela GorbeyI love the way our Fur baby is treated and cared for like an individual and greater by name. They know your pet and your name when you walk through the door. They know how to calm you down and make you feel better. We feel like your Furababy is healthy today because of Fairmont Vet Clinic. Our fur baby is now healthy and the staff at Fairmont Veterinary hospital. She is enjoying life for perhaps the first time. We take her traveling and as you can see she loves it. God Bless the staff our thanks to you all do.
