Furthermore, the hospital's accessible location and various parking options remove a common source of stress for pet owners visiting a busy urban area. The commitment to a welcoming environment, including amenities like gender-neutral restrooms, shows a thoughtful approach to customer service.
While every pet owner's experience can vary, the positive feedback often highlights the compassionate and professional nature of the staff. For instance, one customer's review speaks to the exceptional bedside manner and guidance provided by a veterinarian during a heartbreaking loss, underscoring the empathy and support offered during difficult times. This level of human-to-human care, alongside the medical expertise, is what truly sets a veterinary hospital apart. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My husband and I brought in our English Bulldog to the emergency department due to some issues he was having. It ultimately ended up with him losing his life. This came completely unexpected to us and we were shocked. However, while this was one of the more challenging situations we have experienced, the incredible staff and vets made a horrific situation manageable. We were met with kindness at the door, and our dog was provided immense care from the techs and vet. While we were met with a difficult decision, Dr. Cody helped walk us through the situation as many times as we needed to make the decision that was best for our fur baby and our family. I am so thankful for her bedside manner and patients with us. She saw us at one of the worst moments in our lives so far and I could not be more grateful for her guidance and kindness. Friendship has always treated us well and we will continue to visit them as needed with any future fur babies we have. Thank you all so much.
May 01 · Melanie Hetherington MayoTHE HOSPITAL WHERE YOUR PUPPY or PET GOES TO DIE! My husband and I came to Friendship Hospital for Animals located on Brandywine Street on Saturday, July 19, 2025, because our puppy got an infection in his neuter incision site. We were there for three hours. The doctor and staff shaved and cleaned his area. They provided at home care instructions as well as a bunch of medication that he needed to take to help with inflammation and pain. In the email that was sent by the doctor, she said that she was prescribing Amoxicillin, in addition to the other medication. When we left the hospital, they gave us a bag with what we thought was all of the medication that was needed to help our puppy heal. They FAILED to include the Amoxicillin. I didn't realize until five hours later when I reviewed the email that was sent to me two hours after our appointment by the doctor that they never provided us with the Amoxicillin. The Amoxicillin is used to treat the infection. So they FAILED to include the very medicine that would actually help my dog get better. So when I realized I didn't have the proper medication for my dog to fight the infection, I called them and they suggested that I could pick the medication up on Monday. I told them that was unacceptable and that I needed the medication that night. I had to go to their new location on Wisconsin Ave to pick up the medicine. The doctor said that we should be seen for a follow-up on Monday, July 21, 2025. My husband took our puppy to the appointment, and for the second time in three days they FAILED to give us the antibiotics that were needed. They gave us antibiotics that we already had, and the doctor had prescribed a new antibiotic for our puppy to take in addition to the one he was already taking. So after having brought our sick puppy to the hospital, my husband had to go back later that afternoon to pick up the correct antibiotics. If we had not done our due diligence and reviewed everything that was provided to our puppy, our puppy would probably be dead now from an infection!I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU TAKE YOUR PET HERE FOR ANY REASON. If you have brought your pet there in the past and your pet died, I would strongly recommend that you review all the documentation and medication provided (if you still have it) because your pet may not have died from natural causes....your pet may have died due to NEGLIGENCE.Also, we were charged $908 for the visit on Saturday and another $200 for the follow-up visit. It's no wonder they can afford a nice, new, upgraded facility on Wisconsin Ave - YOU, the patient, ARE PAYING FOR IT!!! One last note, the BASE FEE for a walk-in urgent care appointment at their new facility on Wisconsin Ave is $302.
July 23 · JK VanderhoffMy cat Poppy was having some GI issues today, i took her in as a walk in/urgent care and they brought me back super quickly, as well as the vet came super quickly after the vet tech took her vitals. Everyone I interacted with was super kind and attentive. Thank you to the woman working at the front, the vet tech that took her vitals, the vet, the woman who checked me out and provided me with a ton of potty pads and butt wipes for Poppy if she had an accident, and the vet tech that administered her medications before we left when I requested to do so. I would recommend this vet clinic to anyone I know with pets- you can tell that they care.
November 20 · Mary GoodwinOur 2 year old husky was diagnosed with persistent atrial standstill and needed a pacemaker. The cardiology team at friendship hospital was outstanding - they patiently walked us through every step of the process. Dr. McLaughlin performed the pacemaker implantation for our pup and the results have been amazing. The procedure went so well and our pup has been recovering great and is back to her normal, happy self. We could not be more thankful for the incredible team at Friendship and the cardiology department specifically. Everyone was so kind and made themselves available to answer our many questions. cannot recommend them enough. Dr. McLaughlin is incredible and is absolutely one of the best in his field!
May 29 · Puj AdusumilliMy French bulldog was referred here to dermatology for his chronic ear infection. Dr. Citron and her team were amazing from the first moment we had our consultation. She took the time to talk to me and explain everything to me and address my concerns. Stacey was also so great, he really took good care of my fur baby. I can’t express my appreciation for the dermatology team. Dr. Citron is very knowledgeable and keeps current with dermatology research. They were so patient and understanding, which is exactly what I needed at that time.
