★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve been taking my 9 year old Boston Terrier here for the past two years and have had a great experience every single time. She unfortunately had to have an eye removed due to glaucoma and were referred here post care. We have never looked back! The staff is always friendly, caring, and respectful. We’ve seen two different vets here and both of them addressed our concerns and gave us a realistic and efficient plan to resolve the issue. Our dog has gone in for ear inventions, eye issues, check ups, etc. and we’ll only bring her here.
August 25 · McKenna GarrisonI’ve been coming here with my pets for years. Before my dogs passed, they saw Dr. Grimm, and I’ve been taking both of my cats to see Dr. Kingston for as long as I can remember. They are both fantastic, thorough, and amazing doctors. When I first brought my new cat to them, he hid underneath the sink, even after Dr. Kingston had entered the room. Instead of trying to force him out, he and his tech sat down and waited for him to come out on his own before proceeding with the exam. He gives fantastic advice and explains things very well.Unfortunately, we are no longer returning due to their issues up front. It’s worth noting I am a college student living on my own. I do not make much money, and vet visits are unfortunately an investment for me. At my last visit, they told me my total was around $150. I said out loud “oh that’s perfect. I only have $185 right now.” And I handed the young lady at the front desk my debit card. She said I was all good to go and handed it back to me.Two days later, I got a phone call at 9am. They left a voicemail saying they didn’t have my CareCredit card on file so they couldn’t charge me for my appointment. This confused me, because I handed them my debit card. I never said I was using CareCredit. Part of this is on me, I never called back to clarify, mostly because I was annoyed. Also, since they never charged me, the money (against my will— bills and things) had to go to other things. On Friday evening, I had $60 in my bank account. I spent $4. On Saturday, I was grocery shopping. My total was $54. My card declines. Multiple times. After taking a few things off and finally transferring some money over from my Venmo, I find out that i had $50 taken from me by Great Oaks without my authorization, with another pending $50 charge. I was floored. I have other things to pay for and do not have expendable income. I HAD the money on the day of my appointment. Why would you say I’m “all good to go” if you didn’t actually charge my account? I’m not sure why GOAH thinks it’s okay to play with my money like it’s theirs. This is also not the first time this has occurred.I am going there today to remove my pets’ records from their office and we are going somewhere else. I’ve always spoken so highly of Great Oaks, so I am very hurt and angry by this level of disrespect. It’s upsetting to leave a place that has providers who truly genuinely care, but I refuse to stay work with a front staff that is irresponsible.
October 31 · K. DolanI don't know who was answering the phones on May 24th at noon, but she was extremely rude. Not sure if she was having a bad day, but not your clients' fault (and I am client as I pay regularly for the Puppy Plan). So EXCUSE ME if you telling me that you are booking 2 weeks out but that I can call back at 5.30pm to schedule an appt for tomorrow is confusing. So there are two schedules apparently. News Flash: that is not a normal scenario. And instead of explaining this esoteric scheduling system you have, this lady instead chose to get upset and act offended when I tried to ask clarifying questions. My goal is to get an appointment for my dog as soon as possible. If I have to wait until 5.30 pm to get an appt with my currently preferred vet (and most likely won't be after my Puppy Plan expires), which is after closing time for other vet options, and then not be sure that I will even get an appt if I call at 5.30pm because "..you won't if others call ahead of you...". So now I'm in a race to beat out the other poor souls waiting for this magic 5.30pm schedule to become available, or opt to go with another vet. So why do i have a year long service contract with Great Oaks?Hey lady, maybe next time lose the attitude, realize your office process is abnormal, try to help your paying customer, and engender a sense of helpful customer service that will be rewarded with customer loyalty.
May 24 · Michael VThis place is in my neighborhood, I had took my cat here, she was having a vision problem. They could not tell anything specific, ran $400 worth of tests, after that still nothing specific. The doctor then wanted to do an ultrasound, which would cost another $400.At that point I took my cat to another animal hospital. The doctor told me very specific reasons for blindness, did very specific tests, chalked out very specific treatment plan.
