Sage Veterinary Imaging specializes in advanced veterinary diagnostics and specialized treatments. Their services are designed for complex cases that require a more in-depth approach than a general practice can offer.

- Neurology and Neurosurgery: They provide specialized care for neurological conditions, including veterinary neurology consultations, brain surgery, and spine surgery. They also perform neurologic examinations and offer diagnostic services for central nervous system and spinal disease.
- Specialized Treatments: A major highlight is the I-131 feline hyperthyroidism treatment, a non-invasive cure for this common condition. They also offer treatments for canine arthritis, including Synovetin OA injections.
- Diagnostic Procedures: They perform fine needle aspirations and Tru-Cut biopsies to get samples for their fully digital cytology lab, which provides 2-hour results.
- Surgical Support & Anesthesia: They provide surgical support and offer anesthesia and monitoring services, including consultations with a board-certified anesthesiologist to ensure patient safety.
- Internal Medicine: The clinic’s expertise extends to diagnosing and treating internal medical issues, including gastrointestinal problems and hyperthyroidism.
Sage Veterinary Imaging is known for its advanced capabilities and commitment to providing specialized care, but potential clients should be aware of the full picture.

- Accessibility and Amenities: The presence of wheelchair-accessible parking, entrances, and gender-neutral restrooms creates an inclusive and convenient environment.
- Mixed Customer Experience: It is important to consider the mixed customer reviews. While one client praised the attentive care and communication during a stressful time, another expressed frustration with administrative issues, a lack of upfront clarity on costs and the likelihood of results, and feeling that the process was "transactional."
- Non-Invasive Cures: The clinic offers non-invasive treatments for hyperthyroidism and arthritis that can provide a cure or long-term relief, which is a major advantage for pet owners seeking alternatives to lifelong medication.

For Texans facing a pet's complex medical issue, choosing a specialized veterinary clinic is often a necessity. Sage Veterinary Imaging offers a level of diagnostic and therapeutic expertise that is unmatched in a general veterinary setting. The clinic’s state-of-the-art technology, including 3T MRI, CT scans, and a digital cytology lab with quick turnaround times, is a key reason to choose them. For pets with neurological or musculoskeletal disorders, this kind of advanced imaging is essential for an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment plan. The availability of non-invasive, curative treatments like the I-131 therapy for feline hyperthyroidism is a huge benefit for pet owners who want a long-term solution rather than a lifetime of daily medication. A customer review highlights this, praising the "non-invasive procedure" and the fact that it offers a "95% cure rate," ultimately making the upfront cost "WORTH IT."
However, it is equally important for potential clients to be aware of the potential for a less-than-ideal administrative experience. The provided reviews highlight serious concerns about **customer service and communication**. One reviewer noted that while the medical side was competent, the administrative side was frustrating, with calls going to voicemail and a lack of upfront guidance on the likelihood of getting useful information from expensive tests. This led to a feeling that the process was "transactional" and that they had to work hard to get clear answers. This suggests that while the medical care itself may be top-notch, the overall customer journey may be inconsistent. For a Texan considering Sage Veterinary Imaging, the choice boils down to a clear trade-off: you are choosing a specialist for their advanced medical capabilities and expertise, which are widely praised, but should be prepared to be proactive in managing communication and setting expectations for a seamless experience. The glowing praise for their medical work and non-invasive cures suggests that for the right case, the results are well worth the potential administrative frustrations.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I appreciate that Sage was able to schedule my dog for an ultrasound relatively quickly, and they did a good job of keeping me updated during the appointment, which helped ease some of the stress. They also returned calls in a timely manner once I was able to get through. That said, I did try calling multiple times and the majority of my calls went straight to voicemail. While they did follow up and call me back later—which I appreciated—it still wasn’t always easy to get someone on the line right away. One of my bigger concerns was paying for two fine needle aspirations that ultimately didn’t give us any helpful information. I understand that cytology can be hit or miss because of the small sample size, but I wish someone had clearly explained the low likelihood of getting a conclusive result beforehand. I might have reconsidered doing both. We verbatim asked before the second time if we would get anything conclusive and the vet said yes there’s a good chance of getting something conclusive. Also, after receiving two medical report that was difficult to understand as a non-vet, I had to ask specifically for a follow-up call. When the vet finally did call, it helped somewhat, but we had to ask several clarifying questions to get to the core of what the results meant. It made the process feel a little transactional, and overall I left wishing I had received more upfront guidance about what tests were truly necessary and what to expect from them before dropping thousands of dollars to come to the same conclusion that I went in with - that she needed surgery asap.
July 11 · Mimi PhanShanna is phenomenal!! I am so grateful for her!! My kitty Kiara was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism. There is a 95% cure using radioactive iodine therapy to essentially kill the bad thyroid, while restarting the good thyroid. I value that it’s a non-invasive procedure with testing prior to prioritize the kitties organs, and make sure she’s a good candidate for treatment!Shanna reassured me while Kiara was staying overnight for two days that she would have morning and night check ins, and email me pictures! She went above and beyond! I know Kiara was loved and cared for while we couldn’t be there with her! Your furbabies are an extension of your family… and when they are hurting, you are hurting! I am beyond thankful Shanna, and Sage Veterinary technicians took such good care of her! They updated me on her energy level, food intake, water intake, and monitored her potty moments as she’s had difficulties in the past.I can’t recommend them more!! And please, if you can afford treatment for Hyperthyroidism, this procedure is non-invasive with a 95% cure rate! You have to consider one upfront larger cost for a cure, or say 2 years down the road with twice daily medication, vet exams, and/or pills you’d essentially spend more…. And that medication would be needed for the entirety of your furbabies life… which would exceed $2450. It’s WORTH IT!!Now I am going to go love on my little bio-hazard for 10 minutes at a time 😂
February 12 · Courtney RobinsonThey were so friendly. They explained everything in the beginning and never makes you feel rush or acts like your questions don't matter. The doctor that calls and speaks with was amazing and very through. I would highly recommend if you ever need them.
August 14 · Patricia GatesWe brought our dog Perls for an Uktra Sound to rule out an obstruction (which they confirmed) The Staff were great and I really appreciated them calling the emergency vet we brought her to for surgery to make sure she was ok, it really meant a lot to us!
May 04 · Tony SerpeWe were very pleased with our experience with Sage. From the start, it was so easy to make the appointment. When we walked in the lady said “y'all are here with Rolo?” (My pets name) she said Rolo was the only dachshund for the day. We felt very welcomed. Check in was fast and there was no wait time. We were told Rolo would be in their care for 3 hours and we would get a call once the test were completed. Sure enough we got a call close to 3 hours later. The lady that did Rolo’s ultrasound was very nice and caring. She explained everything to us. When we picked up Rolo they had a Valentine’s surprise for her. They gave her a little bag of treats. It was such a sweet gesture. If we need imaging in the future we will definitely go to Sage. ♥️
