Jan 21, 2025 · Lindsey KingI've brought my cat here twice. Once after she was misdiagnosed with a bowel obstruction at another pet hospital. She spent three days at two other pet clinics receiving unnecessary treatment that was actually making her illness worse. When I took her to CTVSEH, they correctly diagnosed her with inflammatory bowel disease, and it only took them a half day. My baby got the right medication and made a full recovery. Without the skilled doctors and great staff at CTVSEH, my cat would have had an unnecessary surgery at another pet hospital, and likely would have died. She has been back one more time after she had a dental surgery at another clinic. She was having pain and nausea after her surgery. They treated her with the right medications and she is on the road to recovery. They always remember her and treat her with care. Amazing staff!!!
Feb 16, 2025 · Lena ParrottIn my opinion, this is the ultimate place for a critical pet. And even when things don't go the way we pray and we have to say goodbye, the Vets are so patient and kind. Thank you for trying your best. Love, Sterling the Dane.
Jan 11, 2025 · M WolfeI took my cat here yesterday for a degloved tail after it was caught in a door. We filled out paperwork and waited over 30min in a pretty empty lobby before someone came to take my cat. We then waited another 2hours before someone took us to a back room to review pricing for surgery to dock his tail. I was in shock over the price. I’m aware emergency clinics are more expensive than regular vet offices but to me the estimated price was extreme. I told them I needed a minute to make a decision so they left the room. I waited over 30 minutes for someone to come back in to check on us. I gave them the go-ahead for surgery (almost $3000 ) only for them to tell me that they no longer could do the surgery or hospitalize him and that they would be sending me and my cat home. They told me all that could be done was to wrap his tail, and take him to our regular vet in the morning. HIS SKELETON WAS EXPOSED AND HE WAS IN A LOT OF PAIN. I felt dismissed by the team and was very confused as to why they even took my cat in the first place if they didn’t have space for him. At this point we had been there for 3 hours waiting for care just to be turned away. In all, for the exam, shaving his tail, and wrapping it in gauze, it was $500. It also took another 1.5hrs before I even got him back from them doing that service. By this point is was past 1am. The wrap was also terribly done. We were lucky to be taken in by Veterinary Emergency Group immediately and they were concerned by the way his tail had been wrapped. VEG not only was kinder and more attentive to me and my cat but was also had an estimated price for surgery that was half of the cost of Central Texas Vet’s which also made me feel like I had been taken advantage of here. The staff was dismissive to me and my concerns, poor communication as well. I really try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and I know that vet med, especially ER, can be hectic and draining but compassion is key from staff when you are scared for your pet’s life. My experience here was terrible and I will never ever bring one of my pets here again. VEG is less than 5min away from this location and gave exponentially better service and care for my little guy.
