This proactive approach is highly valued by clients, who find it to be both effective for their pets' health and more affordable in the long run.
Clients consistently express gratitude for Dr. Park's expertise and the care provided. One long-term client, who has brought three German Shepherds and even a litter of 12 puppies to the hospital over several years, highlights Dr. Park's knowledge and his ability to "save her life." This level of trust and the demonstrated positive outcomes are powerful endorsements of the hospital's capabilities. While some clients note a direct communication style and a slight accent, they emphasize that Dr. Park "does genuinely care for animals" and that in-person communication is highly effective, allowing for clear understanding and personalized attention. The overall sentiment from loyal clients is that they have found their new primary care vet, grateful for the "kind & excellent care" their pets receive.

This address places the clinic within a readily accessible area of Woodbridge, a large census-designated place in Prince William County, Virginia. Its position within a commercial area, often characterized by ease of access and ample parking, makes it a practical choice for pet owners.
Woodbridge itself is a bustling community with good road networks, ensuring that residents from various parts of the area, and even those from neighboring towns in Northern Virginia, can reach the hospital without significant difficulty. The clinic's ability to schedule appointments efficiently, as implied by clients being seen promptly, further enhances its accessibility for busy pet parents. The accessibility and the positive experiences of regular clients, including those with multiple large dogs, suggest that the location is convenient and conducive to consistent veterinary visits.
While a detailed, comprehensive list of every specific service offered by Hillendale Animal Hospital is best obtained by direct inquiry with the clinic, based on its function as a primary care veterinary hospital and the type of care described by clients, it is reasonable to expect a wide array of essential veterinary services.
- Wellness and Preventive Care: This is a cornerstone of their practice, as Dr. Park emphasizes preventative medicine. Services would include routine annual physical examinations, tailored vaccination programs (e.g., rabies, distemper, parvovirus), parasite prevention and control (heartworm, fleas, ticks, intestinal parasites), and general health screenings.
- Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: This includes the ability to diagnose and treat a wide range of illnesses and conditions. Typical offerings would involve in-house laboratory testing (blood work, urinalysis, fecal analysis), and potentially diagnostic imaging like X-rays to help identify internal issues quickly.
- Surgical Procedures: As a full-service animal hospital, they would likely perform common surgeries such as spaying, neutering, lump removals, and other routine soft tissue surgeries.
- Dental Care: Essential for overall pet health, this would generally include dental cleanings, extractions, and oral health assessments.
- Management of Chronic Conditions: Ongoing care and management for long-term health issues, ensuring pets with chronic illnesses receive consistent support.
- Medication and Pharmacy Services: Providing necessary prescription medications, including preventative medications for various diseases, as noted by a client.
- Puppy and Kitten Care: Comprehensive care programs specifically for young animals, covering initial vaccinations, deworming, nutritional advice, and early socialization guidance. This is strongly implied by the review mentioning "12 puppies."
- Dietary and Nutritional Counseling: Guidance on appropriate diets for different life stages, breed-specific needs, and management of diet-related health conditions.
- General Pet Health Advice: Offering advice on various aspects of pet care, including behavior, exercise, and safety.
Hillendale Animal Hospital is particularly highlighted by several key features and aspects that resonate strongly with its clientele:
- Highly Knowledgeable Veterinarian (Dr. Park): Clients consistently praise Dr. Park's expertise, noting his ability to provide accurate diagnoses and effectively treat serious conditions, including "saving her life" for a German Shepherd.
- Emphasis on Preventative Medicine: The clinic actively promotes and provides preventative medicine, which clients appreciate as it's "easier and cheaper to prevent a disease than it is to cure them."
- Affordable Pricing: A significant highlight, especially for owners of large breeds, is the affordability of their services compared to other veterinary clinics, providing excellent value for money.
- Genuine Care for Animals: Despite a direct communication style, clients feel that Dr. Park "does genuinely care for animals," fostering trust and confidence in the care provided.
- Personalized Communication: While initial communication might be brief, clients find that speaking with Dr. Park in person allows for clear understanding and detailed discussions about their pet's needs. This suggests a willingness to engage thoroughly face-to-face.
- Provision of All Necessary Medications: The clinic ensures pets receive all required medicines, both for treatment and prevention, streamlining the care process for owners.
- Strong Client Loyalty: The consistent positive experiences have led clients to consider it their "new primary care vet" and highly recommend it, even for complex situations like managing multiple large dogs and puppies.

Hillendale Animal Hospital Reviews
We are very grateful for his kind & excellent care. Happy to say we’ve found our new primary care vet!
Jun 28, 2025 · Anne SettleIve taken my 3 German shepherds since i moved in the area 3-4 years ago. Including the 12 puppies my female dog had. Dr.Park is very knowledgeable and has saved her life. I read the 1 star reviews and wanted to leave a review to clarify a few things. Dr Park is the person that answers phone calls directly. While it is hard to understand a couple of things he says due to a accent i am still able to understand what he is saying. He is very to the point and does genuinely care for animals, so I believe the best way to communicate with him is to speak to him in person. His prices are also affordable compared to other vets especially for large dogs. He will provide you all the necessary medicine that your furry companion will need as well as preventative medicine as i believe its easier and cheaper to prevent a disease than it is to cure them of it.
Nov 01, 2023 · Dylan lopezAlways adored him!He lives close to office! Was always available at any hour for any emergency! He took my dog, Daisy, on an emergency on a pouring down rainy Sunday night when she was throwing up blood and had blood diarrhea. Said for me to meet him there within 30 minutes. Charged me only $200 where a 24/7 hospital would have been 3x’s more just for the exam to find out what was wrong. He ended up doing exploratory surgery on her and IV’s and meds. She stayed 3-5 days with him. He fixed her, praise God. He had examined her at an earlier date when she was preggo. Told me get ready - told me what to do. Xrayed her belly to see how many puppies. 2 days later, she delivered at home. He wanted to exam all the babies. He did that with no charge. My rabbit. He saved its life when it was lifeless. He did IV and fresh kale for a week. Said “no charge!”He always matched Petco’s /Petsmart shot clinic prices with the ad and their price list.Love that he does all the work himself with no employees.Never rushes customers. He always did my boarding on a moments notice! I sent my friend Joey to him bc we traveled with work and his Rocko needed boarding. I sent another friend on a Sunday when their pitbull’s leg got caught in a jaw trap in the woods and was hugely infected bc they neglected it. I sent 2 family members there to euthanize their cat and another, a dog, on a moments notice. He spayed My female corgi, Angel, immediately upon a phone call when she had gotton raped by a huge lab.He Always did no charge mail clipping with other services. He loves his job and it shows! He is not always about the money. He truly cares and knows what he is doing! What a wonderful person and doctor!I highly recommend him and will be going back, now that I am in the area again.
Sep 14, 2024 · ShariDon't be put off by the bad reviews. When you call the number, you'll be connected with the vet, Dr. Park, directly. Which other veterinarian answers their phones personally? I'm pretty sure it's even his cell number, so you might even reach him after hours, except when he is with a client, in which case he will call back as soon as he has a minute. Dr. Park is a very knowledgeable and caring person. He saved our dogs' lives when we had an emergency without bankrupting us. His prices are very reasonable, and you can tell that he genuinely cares about the animals that he treats. As you will read in other reviews, Dr. Park has saved many people's animals when others would have given up. You can count on this vet to be there when you need him, which is why we still take our dogs here even after we moved further away. He's truly worth the drive. Give him a chance, and you won't be disappointed!
May 17, 2023 · Jill L. NunyaI’m being generous with two stars. This place was hard to get in contact with after the first visit. After several tries to schedule the next appointment I decided to try another vet. When I asked for a copy of my dog’s records he sent texted a picture that was not readable. I called back and when requested the copy to be sent by email or resent he did not send it. I had to drive and request to take the picture of the record myself and when I asked he didn’t want to provide the dates of when or if my dog would need more booster shots or the rabies vaccination information for her. I would not go here again. The only reason I’m giving two stars is because initially he was really nice.
