In an era where personalized and comprehensive healthcare is increasingly sought after for every family member – including our beloved animal companions – the field of veterinary medicine is expanding to offer more integrative approaches. This practice offers a distinct path to pet wellness, focusing on natural remedies and holistic techniques to improve overall body health.
At Holistic Veterinary Practice, Dr. Pamela Fisher and her staff are committed to a philosophy that views your pet's health as a complete picture, encompassing their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. They understand that true healing often involves addressing the root causes of imbalance rather than just managing symptoms. This approach sets them apart, as evidenced by clients who express profound gratitude for the "constant support and homeopathic remedies" that have "truly changed the course of dogs' lives." While a holistic approach may involve a different scheduling pace compared to conventional clinics, the deep, lasting positive impacts on pet health speak volumes about the dedication and effectiveness of the care provided.
Dr. Fisher's practice aims to gradually improve whole-body health through a combination of nutrition and holistic bioenergy techniques. This means that while traditional diagnostic information (like lab work and vaccine records) is considered, the treatment plans often integrate therapies such as homeopathy, acupuncture, and herbal medicine. The goal is to stimulate your pet's natural healing responses and restore balance, leading to improved vitality and a higher quality of life. For residents of North Canton and the wider Ohio region, Holistic Veterinary Practice offers a specialized and thoughtful alternative for those exploring different avenues of pet healthcare.

Holistic Veterinary Practice - Pamela Fisher, DVM, offers a distinct range of alternative and complementary veterinary health care services, focusing on improving overall body health through natural and holistic bioenergy techniques. While they review conventional records, their treatment philosophy often moves away from conventional drugs where possible, aiming to stimulate the body's natural healing. Here are the core services they provide:
- Holistic Wellness Consultations: Comprehensive evaluations that consider the pet's entire well-being – physical, emotional, and mental – to identify underlying imbalances and develop personalized health plans.
- Homeopathic Remedies: Utilization of highly diluted natural substances to stimulate the body's self-healing mechanisms, addressing a wide range of chronic and acute conditions without harsh side effects.
- Acupuncture: An ancient Chinese veterinary medicine technique involving the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body to promote healing, alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and restore balance.
- Herbal Medicine: Prescription of botanical remedies to support various body systems, address specific ailments, and promote overall vitality, often used in conjunction with other holistic therapies.
- Nutritional Counseling: Expert guidance on species-appropriate diets, natural foods, and nutritional supplements tailored to individual pet needs to optimize health, support recovery, and prevent disease.
- Diet and Nutritional Supplements: Recommendations and provision of high-quality raw and natural foods, treats, and supplements from their Natural Pet Store, designed to complement holistic treatment plans.
- Massage and Acupressure Sessions: Therapeutic bodywork aimed at relieving tension, improving circulation, reducing pain, and promoting relaxation and emotional well-being in pets.
- Energy Sessions: Various bioenergy techniques designed to balance the pet's energy fields and promote healing and harmony within the body.
- Outpatient Practice: Focus on outpatient consultations and treatments, providing care that aims to improve health gradually over time.
- Integration with Conventional Records: While focusing on holistic methods, the practice requires and evaluates updated lab work, vaccine, and veterinary records from conventional vets to inform their comprehensive assessment.
- Guidance on Medication Discontinuance: For pets currently on conventional drugs (e.g., antibiotics, corticosteroids), they provide guidance on the gradual and safe discontinuance of these medications when compatible with their holistic methods.
It is important for potential clients to note that while this practice offers significant benefits for those seeking alternative care, certain emergency situations or conditions requiring advanced surgical interventions or immediate pharmaceutical intervention might necessitate referral to a conventional veterinary hospital. The practice emphasizes a collaborative approach with a pet's usual veterinarian if a client is seeking complementary rather than exclusive holistic care.

Holistic Veterinary Practice - Pamela Fisher, DVM Reviews
Dr. Fisher and her staff have been amazing in treating my dogs, Gus and Winnie. They provide constant support and homeopathic remedies, which have truly changed the course of my dogs lives. I'm forever grateful to them!
Oct 10, 2024 · Audrey BargerOne of the few vets in holistic medicine but impossible to get an appt with since they work very few hours a week. Could have helped my dog with cancer but couldn’t since she takes 5 day weekends . That’s terrible and doesn’t seem very concerned about animals wellbeing
Mar 11, 2025 · NiftybyhilaryI am extremely grateful to Dr Fisher for helping my dog. She was only 1 year old with urinary incontinence. She was diagnosed by ultrasound to have congenital small kidneys. After visits to internal medicine consults there was nothing to offer other than a couple of meds that may help incontinence but had horrible side effects.I asked about diet to help protect her kidneys and was told only that there were prescribed foods when her kidneys fail. Nothing proactive. Also learning her incontinence could be unrelated to kidneys and maybe due to lack of hormones due to early spaying. Common to have happen. After exhaustive internet searching to educate myself to find options to help her I found Dr Fisher. With her guidance and holistic treatments and diet changes, I am thrilled to say my dog is doing well. Blood and urine tests are great and no further incontinence at this time. I wanted to give my dog the best quality and chance in life, so I am grateful of her outcomes.

Sep 15, 2021 · Laura HuntDr. Pam has amazing knowledge and healing gifts. She truly cares about our pets and has natural approaches to healing that work. Before finding Dr. Pam, I was told that my sweet cat, Kitty had a day to live. She was glassy eyed and unresponsive. After one visit to Dr. Pam with her amazing healing energy work, Kitty was alert, bright eyed and even sat up. Before long, she was eating and walking. It was truly miraculous. My dog, Lucky also received so much healing and love by Dr. Pam and lived to be 19 years old. Thank you Dr. Pam for the gifts you have given our family! Fondly, Kathy Brown
