Five Elements Veterinary Alternatives Introduce
For pet owners in Nebraska seeking a holistic and comprehensive approach to their animal’s well-being, Five Elements Veterinary Alternatives in Omaha offers a unique blend of modern and ancient healing arts. This specialized Veterinary Practice is dedicated to Integrative Medicine, viewing the animal's health through the lens of both conventional veterinary science and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM). By focusing on total body wellness and removing barriers to Natural Healing, they provide complementary Alternative Treatments for dogs, cats, and even some exotics in the greater Omaha area.
The clinic's philosophy is rooted in the idea that the body has an innate ability to heal itself. Rather than solely treating symptoms, the expert team, including the highly-regarded Dr. Jen Hebel, aims to diagnose and treat the deeper underlying imbalances that contribute to chronic issues. This approach is particularly beneficial for animals with Chronic Diseases, mobility issues, and for Senior Animals who need specialized care to maintain their quality of life. The clinic provides a supportive and educational environment, ensuring clients are active participants in their pet's health journey.
The deeply compassionate nature of the staff is repeatedly highlighted by the local community. Even for those who never formally became clients, the empathy shown during times of loss, such as a beautiful, handwritten card signed by the entire staff, speaks volumes about the clinic’s genuine kindness. For current clients, the experience is described as kind, caring, and educational, with staff who are "very personable" and take the time to truly understand each pet. This personalized, holistic care for both the animal and the owner is what makes Five Elements a highly recommended choice in the Nebraska pet care landscape.

The clinic’s unique value proposition centers on its integrative model and dedication to specialized care:
- Integrative Medicine Specialization: They excel in combining Western Herbal Therapy and conventional veterinary diagnosis with non-traditional modalities like Veterinary Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, offering a powerful, balanced path to Pet's Health.
- Certified Rehabilitation Expertise: With highly trained staff like Dr. Jen Hebel, who has a background in Canine Rehabilitation and Search and Rescue, the clinic is uniquely qualified to offer targeted Canine Rehabilitation Therapy for conditions like Hip Dysplasia and recovery from Soft Tissue Surgery or Orthopedic Surgery (though these surgeries are often referred out, their rehabilitation post-op care is a highlight).
- Exceptional Compassion and Empathy: The genuine kindness and personal outreach demonstrated by the staff, including the receptionist and the entire team, ensures clients feel supported, particularly during difficult times of Urgent Care or when addressing serious conditions.
- Educational Partnership with Clients: The focus on Client Education means owners are taught exercises and strategies, such as preventative back care for long-backed dogs, empowering them to participate actively in their pet’s Maintenance Care at home.
- TCVM-Based Diagnosis: Their use of the Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine framework, which includes the Five Elements theory (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water), allows for a detailed, holistic Animal's Diagnosis that considers the whole pet's constitution.
- Exclusion of Routine Services for Focus: The practice strategically does not provide general surgery, dentistry, or advanced lab work, which allows them to dedicate their time and highly specialized skill set entirely to Integrative Medicine and rehabilitation.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We recently reached out to Five Elements Veterinary Alternatives when our beloved dog, Harper, began experiencing sudden neurological issues. Despite being fully booked, they found a way to schedule us with Dr. Jen the very next day. Sadly, we never got the chance to meet the team in person, as we lost our sweet girl later that night. When I called to cancel the appointment, I was met with such compassion and empathy from the receptionist (Kim, I believe). Her kindness and understanding meant more than words can express. We even received a beautiful, handwritten card signed by the entire staff - a gesture that truly touched our hearts.Though we never became official clients, I cannot recommend this clinic more. The level of care, empathy, and genuine kindness they showed us in our time of grief is something I will never forget. We hope to be clients in the future, but until then, I will rave about this clinic to anyone seeking pet care. Our deepest appreciation to everyone at Five Elements. You helped begin our healing in a truly meaningful way.
July 22 · Kristin Phaneuf1st time with our Doxiepoo. Kind, caring, educational! Very personable staff! They really take the time to get to know your pet! Started a wellness plan for preventative back care for our soon to be 2 year old long dog. They even showed us exercises to do at home. I had no idea my pup was experiencing so much discomfort. He almost fell asleep while they worked on him and he did a big stretch afterwards in relief! Thank you for the care you all provide for our furry family members that’s both natural and safe!
April 08 · Stephanie NicholsonYou have to bring your pet to Five Elements! Luci our 9 year old beagle was in so much pain. I good friend recommended themWe thought she would die soon. The vet did acupuncture, chiropractic and red light therapy. Luci is running around no pain and acting like she is 3 years old again! We even have her on a diet and loosing weight. We are thrilled Luci can go for walks and short hikes again. Get up the stairs and most of all no pain.Check them out!Dr Christine Anne Townsend ❤️
May 10 · Christine TownsendThe vets here love your babies as much as you do. Bourbon gets chiropractic care, cold laser therapy and electro-acupuncture here because he has degenerative disc disease and I legitimately thinks it helps because it relaxes him.Edit to add: when we first brought bourbon here, he could barely walk. The vets got him walking again and gave us almost 2 more years with the most perfect dog in existence. I cannot recommend this place enough
June 09 · Kim HarwanI feel so fortunate to have 5 Elements as my caregiver. My 6-year-old dachshund was bereft at the loss of my 21-year-old black cat. He stopped playing : ( & only hung out where the cat used to be. Then his back went out,& his back legs were paralyzed. Dr Grant used acupuncture & laser after the Chiropractic adjustments. After about a week, I was able to eliminate pain pills and muscle relaxers. w/an anti inflammatory my dog is walking, and peeing by himself!! I understand we have a ways to go. And we take it easy. But, instead of an expensive surgery or burying him- I have my puppy Pebbles back♡
