- Trusted and Long-Standing Presence: Many clients have been taking their pets to this facility for over 20 years, indicating a deep level of trust and satisfaction built over time. The phrase "couldn’t be more pleased" is a recurring sentiment.
- Dedicated to Military Families: Their primary mission is supporting government-owned animals, but their extension of services to privately owned pets of military families showcases a direct commitment to the well-being of the Fort Meade community. They are familiar with requirements like health certificates for overseas travel (PCSing).
- Comprehensive Routine Services: They excel at providing essential and routine care, including wellness exams, vaccinations, and common surgical procedures, making them a reliable choice for the typical needs of family pets.
It is important to acknowledge feedback regarding administrative aspects:

- Appointment Punctuality: There is a recurring issue where they "are regularly over 30 minutes late for appointments," contrasted with a strict policy of "denied access for at least 6 months if you are late more than 10 minutes." Prospective clients should "be prepared" for potential wait times and adhere strictly to their own arrival times.

Jun 04, 2025 · T. M.H.Quality and price is good but the bureaucracy for scheduling appointments is unnecessarily bureaucratic and complex. Also, they are regularly over 30 minutes late for appointments and yet have a policy of denied access for at least 6 months if you are late more than 10 minutes. Be prepared.
Aug 02, 2024 · Alan ConstantianStaff was very helpful in getting us a last-minute USDA certification appointment after our PCS flight got pushed up. They did an excellent job of getting all our travel paperwork in order! The vet & technician were very kind and patient with our freaked out little fur babies! Thank you all so very much!!!
Oct 04, 2024 · Cat WhatleyExactly the level of professionalism you would wish for when entrusting someone with the care for your pets. The staff were friendly and seemed like genuine animal lovers. My dog is very dramatic when it comes to shots and the staff knew just how to calm him without being rough. Great job!
Mar 20, 2024 · M MCannot say enough about the staff and support from the Fort Meade VTF - Dr. McCarthy and her team were so compassionate both during routine appointments and then end-of-life care for my dog, Lacy. Additionally, they took very good care of her and were very supportive during a difficult time and made the process much more comfortable for myself. My other dog still goes here and has been seen off and on dating back to 2010 - thanks to the entire staff both in the front office and behind the curtain for such superior care - you guys have a great team there.
