Endless Mountains Veterinary Center, PC, at its Athens location, offers a comprehensive and diverse range of veterinary services designed to address the vast health needs of pets, from the smallest companions to large farm animals. While specific offerings may vary slightly between their multiple locations, their core services generally include:
- Comprehensive Wellness and Preventive Care: This is the cornerstone of lifelong pet health. Services include thorough annual physical examinations, tailored vaccination protocols (e.g., rabies, distemper, Lyme, leptospirosis) to protect against infectious diseases common in Pennsylvania, effective parasite control programs (including prevention for fleas, ticks, and heartworm), and expert nutritional counseling to support optimal health, weight management, and address any dietary sensitivities or specific needs.
- Advanced Diagnostic Services: To accurately identify and understand health issues, the center utilizes a range of sophisticated diagnostic tools. These typically include in-house laboratory services for rapid and precise blood tests (e.g., complete blood count, chemistry panels, thyroid testing), urinalysis, fecal examinations, and advanced imaging technologies such as digital radiography (X-rays) for detailed views of skeletal structures and internal organs. Some locations may offer ultrasound capabilities for non-invasive internal organ assessment.
- Surgical Procedures: The hospital is equipped to perform a comprehensive array of surgical interventions, from routine and essential procedures like spaying and neutering—vital for pet population control and preventing certain health issues—to more complex soft tissue surgeries (e.g., tumor removals, foreign body extractions, bladder stone removal). Prior to any surgical procedure, exhaustive discussions are held regarding pre-surgical screenings, anesthesia protocols, and detailed post-operative care instructions to ensure the safest possible outcome and a smooth recovery process.
- Professional Dental Care: Optimal oral health is intrinsically linked to a pet's overall systemic health. Services typically include professional dental cleanings performed under anesthesia to meticulously remove plaque and tartar buildup, tooth extractions when medically necessary due to decay or disease, and valuable guidance on at-home dental hygiene practices to prevent periodontal disease.
- Emergency and Urgent Care: While not a 24/7 emergency critical care facility, Endless Mountains Veterinary Center, PC, provides urgent care services during their standard business hours for sudden illnesses, injuries, or emergencies. They can offer crucial initial stabilization and treatment, and provide clear guidance for after-hours situations, including facilitating prompt referrals to specialized 24-hour emergency veterinary facilities if required.
- Pain Management: For pets experiencing chronic pain from conditions like arthritis, those recovering from surgical procedures, or senior pets dealing with age-related discomfort, the center offers various pain management strategies, which may include tailored medication regimens, therapeutic exercises, or other modalities.
- Microchipping: A vital and increasingly common service for pet identification, microchipping dramatically increases the likelihood of reuniting lost pets with their rightful owners.
- Large Animal Veterinary Services: Reflecting its roots and the agricultural nature of parts of the Endless Mountains, the Rome location (and potentially others) also offers comprehensive veterinary care for large animals, including farm animals. This broad scope highlights their dedication to the entire animal community.

Dec 23, 2024 · Chris DuranLikely saved one of my cats: I can only imagine how difficult vet med is since cats cant give a history to provide diagnostic clues to assist with appropriate diagnosis and management (almost certainly more difficult than human medicine). But Dr Dana did ultimately diagnose my cat with a provisional dx of IBD vs food allergy. After a basic lab panel and X-rays + Some glucocorticoids + dietary modification seemed to have allowed my cat to go from not eating, drinking, or moving to acting normal again. I am appreciative of the vet for being able to, with limited information since cats cannot talk or really give much pertinent information, take my (one of three) from pretty ill to acting normal (cats seem great at acting well until they are potentially on death's door) Arrow is doing well now and I'll gladly continue to trust my care with this vet practice. Thanks so much, well worth the time and price of diagnostics to keep my youngest of three cats in good health and a chance at continuing to be a hyper and playful (though often menacing as cats often are) companion. thanks for the help :)
Sep 30, 2023 · Arthur CecchiniWe have been coming here for a few years now and this is the best Veterinary office I have ever taken my pets to. Extremely friendly and always super helpful! My dog is absolutely in love with all the front desk staff, that always greets him with a treat. The vet is always willing to listen and getting to a treatment plan is always quick.
Nov 16, 2024 · Kim CaryThe staff at EMVC is so knowledgeable, kind, and caring. We recently took our new boy Biscuit to have checkups and try and get his nails trimmed. He is a rescue and very scared to get his nails trimmed. The vet tech that helped us was a blessing. She was able to do what no other human could.. and that was trim our sweet boys nails! Also the Veterinarian took the time to call my husband and check up on Biscuits progress. He and my husband were able to have a great conversation about various tick medicines. Pa has one of the highest tick rates in the US./ potential for Lyme disease. So it was very important for us to choose an effective flea and tick prevention. All in all thankful we found EMVC and that we have such a caring and educated staff near our home.
Dec 04, 2024 · Sarah KMy 6 year old pit was always kept up to date with his bloodwork, shots, annual check ups. He had a small paw infection on his paw, he was then prescribed a strong dose of antibiotics. The next day he got very sick. After labor day, 3 days went by I took him back to the vet he was bloating and not eating. I was told that he just had a upset stomach and sent me home with more medicine to stop puking and gain appetite. I called everyday the next few days worried and concerned. After a week went by of my dog not eating and dying in front of me I took him to Cornell and was told that his liver had failed and I had to put him down. My best friend is no longer with me.
