Exceptional Individual Veterinarians: A significant highlight is Dr. Camille Barnes, who is consistently praised as "absolutely phenomenal." She is noted for providing "incredibly thorough evaluations," taking "time to explain everything clearly," and bringing a "warmth and care that instantly puts you and your pet at ease." Her dedication to treating pets "like more than just a number" is a key draw for many.
Friendly and Accommodating Staff (at times): Some reviews indicate that the general staff, when performing well, are "excellent—super friendly, accommodating," contributing to a positive experience.
Efficiency and Short Wait Times: The clinic is noted for rarely having "any wait time" and the ability to secure "same-day appointment," which is a significant advantage in busy New York City.
Fair and Transparent Pricing: Customers appreciate that pricing is "totally fair and transparent," with the clinic doing "a lot without trying to upsell you on unnecessary treatments," fostering trust regarding costs.
Areas for Improvement in Consistency and Accountability: One review highlights a significant negative experience, particularly after a specific vet's departure. This points to potential inconsistencies in overall care quality, accountability, and staff demeanor at the front desk, including instances of perceived rudeness and a focus on monetary transactions over animal well-being.
Communication Challenges: The lack of warning about severe side effects for medication and a perceived lack of "accountability or support" when concerns were raised indicate areas where communication and follow-up protocols could be improved for all staff members.
Prescription Food Policy Concerns: A strict policy regarding prescription food orders tied to recent appointments, even for distant clients, caused frustration and a perception of being "punished," suggesting a need for more flexible and compassionate administrative policies.

Veterinary Care Group - Williamsburg Reviews
We had a very disappointing experience with Veterinary Care Group - Williamsburg. While Dr. Barnes was caring and attentive—we genuinely liked her as our vet—things completely fell apart after she went on maternity leave. No one else took proper care of us or our dog after that. Our dog was given medication in the ear that ultimately caused him to lose his hearing, and we were never given any warning about this potential side effect. When we raised concerns, there was zero accountability or support from the clinic.Adding to the frustration, they stopped allowing us to order our dog’s specialty prescription food through Amazon, simply because we hadn’t come in for a recent appointment—even though they were fully aware we had moved further away. It felt like a punishment rather than a concern for our dog’s well-being.The front desk staff, particularly one woman who was consistently rude, made every interaction unnecessarily unpleasant. It became clear that this practice is more focused on making money than providing real care and compassion for animals and their families. We no longer trust this vet group with our dog’s health and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, respectful veterinary care.
May 31, 2025 · Sunil SharmaI want to specifically shout out Dr. Camille Barnes at Veterinary Care Group Williamsburg. I can’t speak for every doctor there, but Dr. Barnes is absolutely phenomenal. She provides incredibly thorough evaluations, takes time to explain everything clearly, and brings a warmth and care that instantly puts you and your pet at ease. The staff is also excellent—super friendly, accommodating, and there’s rarely any wait time. I was able to get a same-day appointment, which is nearly impossible these days.Pricing is totally fair and transparent, especially for the level of service and attention they give. They do a lot without trying to upsell you on unnecessary treatments, which I really respect. If you want someone who truly cares about your pet and treats them like more than just a number, Dr. Barnes is the one. By the way thank you Doctor Barnes I can already tell Lucy is doing better :)
Apr 21, 2025 · Jessica GrossHighly recommend this veterinary office. Clean and roomy space. Friendly staff. And Dr. Camille Barnes is the best and caring DVM I have met. Last but not least, affordable cost.
Jun 29, 2025 · Phoebe ChoiWe had previously been going to Bond Vet in manhattan out convenience. Through word of mouth thru a friend, we found this awesome place. Olivia, our dog, had to extract a tooth bc it broke.Throughout the process, this vet was amazing and very attentive. They never pushed unneeded services and very quick to answer our concerns and questions. They also trimmed Olivia’s nails, cleaned her ears, and cleared up her acne on her back without us asking for it. Thank you for taking great care of our pup. Couldn’t be happier
Jun 22, 2025 · Preston YipOur dog stepped on some glass and was bleeding from his foot so we went in to get it looked at. While they aren’t an emergency clinic, they still saw us and were so incredibly helpful. They did X-rays to check if there was glass in his paw, cleaned and dressed the wound, and sent us home with meds for him. Wonderful experience and they were absolutely perfect. No notes. We’re seriously considering switching our routine appointments to them because they were so good. Fair pricing and nice offices.
