The testimonials from real customers paint a picture of a service that goes above and beyond, establishing a deep sense of trust and appreciation among its clients.
The philosophy at Homestead Veterinary Service is built on a foundation of education and communication. As highlighted in a customer review, Dr. Perry is praised for taking the "time needed and explains and educates you what he is doing and why." This commitment to client education is a key differentiator. It ensures that owners have a full understanding of their animal's condition and the treatment plan, allowing them to participate actively in their animal's care. This collaborative approach fosters a strong partnership, which is crucial for achieving the best possible health outcomes, especially for large animals where the owner’s role is so significant. The gratitude expressed in the reviews, with one owner noting they've "never seen him lose this LITTLE of grain" after a dental procedure on their horse, speaks volumes about the tangible and positive results of the clinic's work.
Another powerful testament to Dr. Perry's dedication and expertise is the story of him catching tumors on a gelding's sheath that the owner "never would have noticed or known about." This proactive and observant approach demonstrates a level of care that goes beyond a simple check-up. It shows a vet who is truly invested in the long-term health of the animals he treats, catching critical issues early on and potentially saving lives. The reviewer is "so thankful to have a vet that shows compassion even with his busy schedule he takes the time he needs with my animals." This compassion, even amidst a packed schedule, is a hallmark of a truly dedicated professional and is a primary reason why Homestead Veterinary Service is so highly regarded.

December 14 · Amanda MaloneDr. Perry and Dr. Beattie are excellent! We first used them when our horse was collicking. Dr. Perry came quickly and thoroughly explained what he was doing so we understood. I also took a horse to get her teeth floated and a tumor tied off. They were again very thorough and professional. They worked with me to find a treatment option for a couple other tumors that were within my budget restrictions. They were very considerate of my horse and treated her with respect. I can't recommend this practice enough! I switched to them after a careless experience at Homestead Animal Medical Clinic. Please don't get the two confused. Homestead Veterinary Service is professional, cares, and an amazing place for your large animals.

December 27 · Blazing HopeTook an abandoned dog in for a complete exam and eye infection. She listened to the heart, gave it it's shots and prescribed medication for the eyes. The dog was not weighed, no blood work to check for worms or anything else. Not sure why I was charged 180.00 for just that. Will definitely be going to a different vet that will check everything to make sure the dog is healthy. The dog isn't a mutt she is registered, but even if it was a mutt it should have been checked for everything.

These are the best large animal vets that we have encountered.*For the folks reading these reviews, please note that these are large animal vets so some of the reviews are actually meant for another vet of a similar name*
