June 11 · Mr. VWorst experience ever, do not bring your pets here. Prior to this visit I had been here a few other times and had good experiences, I don’t know what changed. I brought my pet in on Friday about 2pm to drop off for a spay surgery where I was told they could do the surgery that day and pick up Monday (today), I was fine with that. I had an additional concern about a new lump so they provided me a paper with a diagram on it where you can mark where your pet’s masses are located, which I filled out. I said I needed to know about the mass after the doctor looked at it as they had only quoted me for her spay, the employee said the doctor would call. I waited a few hours then called at 5 to request a call again, and to let me know she made it through surgery. I had already been warned that sometimes they are there very late for surgery so I waited for a call until about 1 am. They also had told me that they would have a tech there with the hospitalized patients over the weekend. Saturday morning I called again, and their voicemail said they were closed that day. Between Saturday and Monday morning, I left no less than 4 voicemails begging for an update on my pet. When we were finally able to get them on the phone this morning, we were told that not only had they not performed her surgery, they administered antibiotics to my pet on Friday without consulting me and delayed her surgery until today, which is when I had been told I could pick her up. I understand the reason for starting the antibiotic, but there was no communication until this point. We were told this morning that there was still another surgery scheduled ahead of hers, and again we requested a call before surgery. We waited several hours without a call back, so I called to check in around 2pm. The person I spoke to had no idea what lump I was talking about, I had to tell her to check my drop off forms. I asked why I wasn’t contacted and expressed how upset I was that I was left completely in the dark about my pet all weekend after being promised at two different times that the doctor would call me. This person said they’d be taking over my case and my pet’s case, and that going forward, they would make sure the doctor called me before surgery. Awhile later, I got a call from this same employee and they said they had the doctor on the line and would patch me through. Dr Carver was incredibly rude and uncaring. When I tried to explain why I was so upset at the situation, he cut me off and told me “stop talking” three different times. He then told me I could take my pet somewhere else and he didn’t want to do her surgery anymore, that he would step aside and not charge me for the visit so I could go somewhere else so I told him I’d come pick her up, then he hung up on me. When my husband and I arrived to pick her up, he was just as rude and uncaring as he was on the phone. Long story short, do not go here, do not trust them to communicate with you about your pet during their stay, and do not trust that they won’t do to you what they did to me. I work in the vet field as well and would NEVER treat one of my hospital’s pet parents like they treated me.
August 18 · Emma WerntzThe people at this animal hospital are amazing! :) Long story short I took my cat (Loafers) to a vet's office and found out that he was having liver failure. I panicked and called about a dozen nearby local animal hospitals scrambling to see if anyone would accept payment plans to treat my cat. This was the only animal hospital I could find in the area that was willing to do a payment plan, and their prices were extremely lower than the competition. Kim and Dr. Carver were especially involved in communicating with me and treating my cat. They let me visit him nearly every day, gave me updates about how he was doing, and answered all of my questions. After being there for about a week my boy unfortunately passed away peacefully in his sleep, but I can at least rest easy knowing that the staff and I did everything we could for him.I am deeply grateful to this medical team for their kindness and hard work. Dr. Carver is clearly dedicated and passionate about saving animals' lives. Thank you Dr. Carver, thank you Kim, and thank you to everyone who works here. I wish you all the best. :)
February 06 · Nathan GilesI am very grateful for Humane Animal Hospital. My father has brought his pets to this practice for several years now. I just moved back into town and needed to get my nearly 10-year old dog, Clyde, his vaccinations and a checkup.Dr Carver took the time to thoroughly examine Clyde and comes to find out… Clyde had slight liver problem, a recent leg fracture and possible bone tumor. (I had a membership at VCA while living in Austin, charged $70/mo with blood test and never once was this brought to my attention by VCA). Dr Carver took the time to walk me through each and the next steps needed. Dr Carver even showed the X-rays and explained the area of problem. They provided me with an estimate for a biopsy surgery, which was more affordable than any nearby animal hospitals, and got him scheduled within the week. The entire staff made me feel at ease while I was in shock with the outcome of Clyde’s issues. I knew he was in good hands and there wasn’t a better place for him to be for care. I’m so very thankful for Dr Carvers time and catching these issues early on. Humane Animal Hospital genuinely cares and loves the pets they care for. I now refuse to go to any other animal hospital, as long as this one is open!Clyde just got home from surgery today and I’m thankful that no matter the outcome of the biopsy - I know he will have a team behind him, cheering him on the entire way.
February 22 · Sara PollardThis vet clinic/hospital is beyond the best I have ever had the pleasure of coming in contact with. Our dog had a disabled pup, which had to be bottle fed every 2 hours or less. Within a couple of weeks, we realized the puppy had some major disabilities. The pup, named Lucy, fought hard and at 6 weeks old, we took her to this vet clinic to find out the extent of her disabilities. The vet explained how long of a road we would have with her, and explained that the next 2 months would be touch and go. Lucy would need undivided attention and much needed, expensive medical care. While I balled my eyes out knowing I could not give her the care she needed because of my work schedule, the Veterinarian took one look at us and offered to adopt Lucy. He told us of his own personal struggles and disabilities, and assured us that lil Lucy would get round the clock care. My husband and I cried with relief and appreciation. Before we left the office, all the vet techs were playfully arguing about who was going to be the lucky one to take care of lil Lucy.We signed papers rendering Lucy over to the vet clinic, and left there with a renewed faith in Veterinarian care. Our lil .56 pound Lucy got the chance of a lifetime, and my soul is a rest knowing she is going to live a long, happy life.
