Lawndale Veterinary Hospital is celebrated for several key features that contribute to its reputation as a leading veterinary provider in North Carolina.
- Highly Compassionate and Caring Team: Numerous client reviews emphasize the genuine love and care the staff, including receptionists, technicians, and veterinarians (like Dr. Burnett, Dr. Byers, Dr. Crawford, Dr. Peters, Dr. Waterman, and Dr. Lynch), show for animals. As one client shared, "all the staff (doctors, receptionists, techs, etc) are always so kind! ... Wonderful people who love animals and what they do." Another noted, "The love and care they show our pets is unmatched."
- Excellent Doctor-Client Communication: Veterinarians are praised for their thoroughness, patience, and dedication to explaining concerns and recommendations. Dr. Burnett, for example, "even calls me after hours whenever I have questions or concerns or to discuss results. It is so appreciated." This level of engagement builds strong trust.
- Responsiveness and Accessibility for Urgent Needs: The hospital makes a concerted effort to accommodate urgent and emergency patients during daytime hours. Clients appreciate that their calls and emails are answered "very quickly and compassionately," even during challenging times.
- Consistent Quality of Veterinary Care: Many long-term clients attest to the consistent, high standard of medical care received over many years. Phrases like "exemplary medical care" and "no better team" are common in reviews of their veterinary services.
- Friendly and Professional Staff: The entire team is consistently described as "friendly," "kind," "savvy," and "professional," creating a welcoming and positive experience for both pets and owners. They "greet you with a smile."
- Experienced Veterinarians: The hospital prides itself on having licensed and experienced Greensboro veterinarians who are devoted to providing the best care possible.
It is important for potential clients to note that while the general veterinary care, including medical and surgical services, receives overwhelmingly positive feedback, a recent review highlighted a disappointing grooming experience, particularly concerning a Bernese Mountain Dog's coat and potential injury. This suggests that while their core veterinary services are highly recommended, clients should exercise caution or seek detailed discussions regarding specialized grooming requests, especially for breeds with specific coat care requirements.

Lawndale Veterinary Hospital Reviews
Disappointed with Grooming ExperienceWe’ve been bringing our Bernese Mountain Dog here for over a year for vet care and have always had positive experiences on that side of things. We've also used the bathing and brushing services a few times without issue. However, our recent experience with grooming was unfortunately very disappointing. Before the appointment, we met with the groomer and were very clear that we wanted a trim, not a shave. As anyone familiar with this breed knows, their double coat should be maintained properly, and shaving is not typically recommended. We felt confident going in, but that’s not what happened. We dropped her off at 8:30 AM, and didn’t hear anything until 2:30 PM, when we were told they were just about to begin grooming. It was very concerning to learn she had been waiting in a kennel for six hours before anyone even started on her. When we picked her up at 4:30 PM, we were surprised and upset by the result. The grooming did not resemble what we had discussed, and her coat was uneven and patchy — nothing like a professional groom. More concerning, she came home limping, and we’ve since contacted the vet to look into an issue with her back leg. We’ve had good experiences with the vet team here, but unfortunately, I cannot recommend the grooming services. The lack of communication, the results, and the potential injury have left us with serious concerns.Below are before (left) and after photos (right)
May 16, 2025 · W.M.My kitty Mabel has been sick since last August. She has had several appointments since then, and all the staff (doctors, receptionists, techs, etc) are always so kind! I have had direct experiences with Dr. Byers, Dr. Crawford, Dr. Peters, and more often Dr. Burnett. They have been doing their best to help me and Mabel, especially Dr. Burnett. She even calls me after hours whenever I have questions or concerns or to discuss results. It is so appreciated. The techs are also great with Mabel, who is a spicy girl! And the receptionists always answer my calls and emails very quickly and compassionately, even when it’s the millionth time that week! Wonderful people who love animals and what they do.
May 27, 2025 · Rebekkah StanleyWe were here for grooming. The groomer, Robin, is a pleasure—friendly and professional. She asks detailed information about how the dog will be groomed. And I was impressed with how nice he looked when I picked him up.
Jun 27, 2025 · P KI can't recommend Dr. Peters enough. She's so sweet, kind and so professional. More importantly, she's beautiful inside and out! You can tell she actually cares about your pet by calling their names and even remember our other cat (Snape) even though we visit her once a year.We moved Snape from Thailand in 2023 and treatment here is different. Every time we visit she actually takes her time explaining what we ask and express her concerns and recommendations on some matters. We're grateful to have her taking care of our fur babies. The receptionist team is also really nice and friendly. All of them will greet you with a smile.
Mar 06, 2025 · Siri WLawndale continues to provide exemplary medical care to my pets. I have been a client since 1996 and over the years, I know all our animals have been very well cared for. I would recommend them highly!
