This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and informative overview of Muddy Creek Veterinary Service, helping local users in the Maryland region understand the specialized and compassionate care they offer.

With a commitment to both routine preventative care and urgent/emergency services, they strive to be an invaluable partner to farmers, equestrians, and hobbyists alike. Their approach emphasizes empathetic care, whether it’s a routine check-up for a cherished horse or providing support during the most difficult end-of-life decisions for a beloved farm animal. This detailed overview will delve into what makes Muddy Creek Veterinary Service a crucial choice for those seeking expert large animal veterinary services in Maryland, highlighting their diverse offerings, accessible location, and unwavering dedication to animal welfare.
---Muddy Creek Veterinary Service is strategically located at 634 Wheeler School Rd, Whiteford, MD 21160, USA. This address places the clinic in a rural yet accessible part of Harford County, Maryland. While set back from major urban centers, its position in Whiteford allows it to efficiently serve a significant agricultural and rural demographic across Maryland.
The accessibility of a large animal veterinary service is paramount, given that many cases involve farm visits or the need for a haul-in facility for more intensive care. While the clinic is described as being "set kinda far back," the presence of clear "signs make finding the clinic easy," which is crucial for clients, especially during urgent situations. Furthermore, Muddy Creek Veterinary Service extends its reach beyond its physical location. They proudly provide mobile veterinary services, serving parts of Harford, Cecil, and Baltimore Counties in Maryland. This extensive service area, combined with their haul-in facility, ensures that critical large animal veterinary care is accessible to a broad range of clients in rural communities, even if the primary clinic itself is nestled slightly off the beaten path. This dual approach of on-site and mobile services greatly enhances their suitability for the unique demands of large animal care in the region.

One review powerfully articulates how the staff "supported me and given me everything I can to ease end of life for my girls," and how they "always help me make the most humane decisions through my grief." This demonstrates a profound understanding of the emotional bond between owners and their animals, even farm animals, providing crucial emotional support during challenging times.
- Combined Mobile and Haul-In Capabilities: The convenience of offering both mobile veterinary services (on-farm visits) and a well-equipped "haul-in facility" is a significant advantage. This comprehensive approach ensures that animals receive care in the most appropriate setting.
- Polite, Informative, and Professional Staff: Customers describe the team as "very polite and informative." The ability to clearly explain diagnoses and treatment plans, as seen with the lamb's ear injury ("cauterized/cleaned it up well"), is highly valued. This professionalism and clear communication build trust and reassure owners about the care their animals are receiving.
- Ease of Finding the Clinic: Despite its rural setting, the practical detail that "signs make finding the clinic easy!" is a thoughtful highlight, acknowledging the importance of accessibility for clients who may be transporting animals or are unfamiliar with the area.

Muddy Creek Veterinary Service Reviews
I've gone through a year (so far) of losing silkies to Marek's and everyone at Muddy Creek has supported me and given me everything I can to ease end of life for my girls. They are immensely empathetic and always help me make the most humane decisions through my grief. Thank you for your love, Muddy Creek.
Jun 29, 2025 · Alyxandra SeligVery polite and informative! We took our one month old lamb there because his ear was split in half and they cauterized/cleaned it up well. Its set kinda far back, but signs make finding the clinic easy!
Apr 11, 2025 · Pam Jones (Pamelambie)I have used Muddy Creek Veterinary Service for around 8 years now. They have worked on and helped me with our horse and goat.My recent interactions with Dr. A were great. Though it resulted in putting my goat "Dwight" down they showed the utmost compassion, care, and professionalism.I appreciate their care. Thank you Dr. A and team.
Jan 17, 2025 · Trevor BellWonderful people! Had an emergency with a goat on a Sunday and the vet, Dr. A, was incredibly kind and supportive. Thanks too for the card from all the staff- losing an animal is never easy but their respectful approach and follow up helped lessen the pain.
Nov 15, 2023 · paul frittsMy regular chicken vet was not in nor could I locate anyone that was able to see her when someone recommended Muddy Creek. As an old client of Dr Cohagan I immediately recognized the name but did not know they moved to Whiteford or that they treated chickens as I had previously used their services for my horses and goats. They were kind, compassionate and I was able to get my chickie to them immediately. Unfortunately my chickie was unable to be saved, but I felt confident in the guidance provided to make the right decision for my pet. I really appreciated how kind and thorough they were in their care.
