★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Great experience and very responsive to questions after appointments. It's worth the 1 Hour ride from evans, plus our dogs are comfortable in their office. We found them via a rescue dog we adopted. Very grateful we did.
July 15 · Seth DowlingThese folks are great! We had 3 barn cats to get neutered and spayed, along with shots and worming; Ogeechee was fast and not too costly for this service. We take our new Lab pound puppy here, as well as our goats. They can do all animals, from birds to cattle and everything in between. Nice new office also. There are two vets, the father Dr. Pritchard who does large animals and his daughter who is more for pets. Highly recommend!
April 18 · Logan Scott LedbetterI genuinely believe this vet and staff care for their animal patients, but when they offer after hours or emergency vet services, they need to also lay it out what this means. Per Dr. Pritchard, he can not do any labs because he can’t staff after hours and “wait on emergencies like the big cities do.” I understand this and it’s unfortunate because my precious cat might have lived rather than die a suffering death while en route to Augusta’s pet hospital. I called Dr. Pritchard and asked him his medical opinion since he had treated my cat the evening before and he went back and forth between “I can see the kitty again but no labs.” Dr. Pritchard also told me he did not know how to use his lab or “spin blood.” My friend died, drowning in her phlegm less than an hour after that call. I do believe this provider cares but trust your intuition and head to a fully staffed emergency animal hospital when your fur baby is in distress.
July 04 · Mary Alice Gaston-PooleSo I left a review previously when I was so impressed with the care and cost when my Frenchie had a hematoma on her ear. I have one more experience I would like to share. My same little Frenchie Lucy whom we were told couldn’t get pregnant on her own without being artificially inseminated (by the breeder we bought her from) happened to get pregnant right after Hurricane Helene. The same hurricane forced us to move, and the place we moved to is 3 hours away (Buford). The vets around here are very expensive, and many don’t have same day appointments so we decided to take her back to Ogeechee for her xray to see how many babies she had. Again they had very fair prices and the kindness and efficiency here is unmatched they told me things to be aware of so I knew when she was in labor. I brought her home and took her temp daily. On the 3rd of December I took her temp she was 99.8 so we went and did some shopping came home around 4:30 and my dog had a water each bulging and she was clearly in labor. If you aren’t familiar with French bulldogs they need c sections most of the time and my pup was struggling with a puppy in her birth canal. At this time I knew I couldn’t make it to ogeechee for the c section they would be closed and need extra staff to help so I had to search around here near me for a vet. Everyone told me it would be an emergency and everywhere from 4-7 thousand dollars. This was beyond what I could possibly afford we have had two moves in less than 4 months and we are in a pretty bad financial situation at this time. Other vets with zero compassion would not take payments and basically told us good luck and hung up on us. One even suggested they could put her down. This is my baby with plenty of life left. I was desperate scared, and going out of mind. I was praying and I heard God say to me CALL OGEECHEE. I knew I couldn’t make it but I called anyways. Of course they were closed for small animals it would be an emergency but they wouldn’t have the staff and I’d still be after their after hours hours. So we knew our only option was going to be to put her down. I hung up terrified helpless nd feeling so alone. A few minutes passed and I had two missed calls from Ogeechee. I thought maybe they were calling with some at home advice and before I could call back they called a third time. The doctor spoke to me and said not to put her down to wait it out keep her calm and if she is ok in the morning be there at 8 am, the doctor had said to me “I don’t want money to be the reason you have to put her Down. If you’ve never felt a hug over the phone in a scary moment, that’s what that phone call felt like. To know someone even cared was enough to comfort me and I somehow knew Lucy was gonna be ok. At 3:30am on the 4th Lucy was sleeping and we loaded her in the car and drove the 3 hours to be there when they opened. They preformed the c section and unexpectedly there were still live babies in there. They gave me the bill and I can not tell you the details of it. All I can say is God touched the hearts of the drs. And gave us a miracle. I am forever using this vet and I don’t care how far I’m driving. They saved my dog. They truly cared about her. That’s who these people are, they are good caring folks who want your animal to be ok and who wouldn’t want to bring their animals to a dr that actually loves animals. I know this is a long review but some of these reviews talk bad about the staff and what not, but they are way off the mark. The front staff is usually two young girls who are cute and friendly. The dr. Is no nonsense straight to the point. And you just get the feeling they are like a family. Maybe it is a family. I don’t know but they operate very well together and get your pet in and out and do it with love.
