This factual overview will help you make an informed decision for your pet’s health.
A local veterinary clinic plays a vital role in the community, serving as a hub for everything from routine check-ups and vaccinations to more involved medical procedures. The relationship between a pet owner and their vet is built on trust and clear communication. Springwood Veterinary Clinic's mission is to provide professional care that is both accessible and effective for the pets of Hephzibah, with an emphasis on preventative measures to ensure long-term well-being.

The clinic is designed with accessibility in mind, providing a wheelchair accessible entrance and a wheelchair accessible parking lot. This ensures that all clients, regardless of mobility, can easily access the care their pets need. The facility is equipped with a restroom for client use, contributing to a more comfortable experience. To ensure that each patient receives the appropriate time and attention, the clinic operates on an appointments-recommended basis. This system helps the staff manage the flow of patients and minimizes wait times, though it is a good idea to confirm an appointment and any necessary information beforehand, as noted in some reviews.
The professional environment is aimed at making both pets and their owners feel at ease. The clinic focuses on on-site services, meaning that all care is delivered right there at the facility. This allows for direct communication with the veterinary staff and provides a clear picture of the care being administered. The clinic’s commitment to providing a clean and organized space is part of its professional ethos.
Springwood Veterinary Clinic offers a targeted range of services, focusing on essential and preventative care for pets. Their approach is centered on foundational health and common medical needs.
Services Offered:

The services provided demonstrate a clear focus on routine and preventative health measures. The clinic seems to specialize in a core set of offerings that are vital for any pet owner. However, it is always a good idea to contact the clinic directly to confirm if they can handle a specific health issue, as their services may be more specialized than a larger animal hospital.
Based on customer reviews, there are both positive and negative experiences to consider. The clinic is praised by some for its friendly staff and the professional demeanor of the veterinarian, Dr. Martin. A review states that everyone is "so nice" and that the staff makes you "feel right at home." Another reviewer expressed a positive experience with Dr. Martin, noting that she is "great with all of our animals." This suggests a strong, caring personal approach for many clients.
However, other reviews raise serious concerns about communication, professionalism, and pricing. One client detailed an experience of being overcharged for a spay/neuter procedure after being given a much lower quote, and noted a lack of provided post-operative care items like a cone or calming medication. The client also mentioned significant issues with getting the clinic to approve a prescription and respond to requests, ultimately leading them to switch vets. Another reviewer mentioned a frustrating experience trying to obtain a copy of a rabies shot record, citing a lack of response from the clinic via phone or email. These experiences suggest potential inconsistencies in the clinic’s administrative and client support processes, which are important factors for potential new clients to consider.
Features and Highlights:
- Friendly Staff and a Welcoming Atmosphere: Many clients appreciate the kind and caring nature of the team.
- Knowledgeable Veterinarian: Dr. Martin is highlighted as being great with all animals.
- Focus on Preventative Care: Services are centered around essential preventative medicine and routine procedures.
- Accessible Location: The clinic is easy to find with accessible features for all clients.
- On-Site Services: Care is provided directly at the clinic.
While the positive aspects of the staff's demeanor are noted, the negative feedback highlights areas for consideration. Transparency in pricing, clear communication, and efficient follow-up are critical for a trusting client-veterinarian relationship. These are factors that prospective clients should inquire about when considering Springwood Veterinary Clinic.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Update: while I love everyone here. It has become VERY frustrating to get someone to call or even email me a copy of my cats rabies shot that he received from them last September. My cat is a formal feral cat, he fought off a fox and saved one of my hens. Now I need a copy of it and I can not get them to answer the phone, call me back or even email me back the information I need for him! When I took him for his shots last September all they gave me was this tag with his name written on this sticky note and the date he received it. The other vet says they need an actual copy of it.Everyone is so nice. Dr.Martin is great with all of our animals. We actually enjoy brining our pets to see her. They make you feel right at home.
March 06 · Chelsey MaI really hoped to like it here, as it’s very close to home. Called to schedule my dog’s neuter and I was quoted a price of $180-250 depending on the weight. Picked him up after surgery and was charged $380. They did not provide a cone or any calming medication. Only anti-inflammatory and an antibiotic? When I asked about the price they told me that it was misinformation from a previous employee that they had fired and that she had been giving that info out. Instead of honoring it or even anything close to it. They also left the weight blank and I had to call and ask, 44lbs.My other male dog was neutered at Aiken Veterinary and they provided a cone, anti-inflammatory meds and trazadone to keep him calm and the price was $250. (They’re both medium-large dogs and had them both neutered at 6 months).I was also told they would clip his nails while he was under. When I picked him up the girl swore they clipped his nails. He jumped all over me immediately (I couldn’t pick him up til the next day) and I still have a scar from the scratch. Sure enough, his nails were not cut so we had to go back up there and it was just the same receptionist girl who came outside and made me try to hold him while she tried to clip. The last straw was when they told me I had to order his Simparico online and when I did through chewy, the doctor NEVER approved it. Never even responded to it. Chewy reached out a few times. I called and was told the doctor would call me back but that “she hates chewy”. Never called me, never approved. They also ignored my moms request for important allergy medicine for her dog and were very non-chalant about getting it sorted out. She was the one who initially referred me to them but has decided she won’t be going back either.I’m not sure if ownership or employees changed or what happened, but I would not recommend this vet to anyone. I was lied to, overcharged, ignored and frustrated. Incredibly unprofessional.
August 14 · Jenni GreenPicked up my SIL's dog from being boarded here for a few days. The receptionist was very nice and friendly and the place looked clean. They gave Truffle a physical and updated his shots while he was there. No need for a second trip! He looked happy and health at pick up and came with a Report Card.
June 20 · Stacy AndersonDr. Martin at Springwood Veterinary Clinic is truly exceptional. When my mom and her dog were attacked, she showed incredible kindness and compassion, providing not just expert medical care but also genuine support during a difficult time. She goes above and beyond for both her animal patients and their humans, ensuring they receive the best care possible. If you’re looking for a veterinarian who is both skilled and deeply caring, you won’t go wrong with Dr. Martin.
March 14 · Heather L. SmithThey failed my Ramsey. My husband brought him in Friday because he hadn’t pooped in about 2 days. They took his vitals and gave him about 3 shots, then an IV. They also preformed 2 X-rays (which they never showed me) and told me there wasn’t any blockage and he should be fine once he takes the medication they prescribed. Paid about $350 for all of that, not bad compared to the ER. Ramsey gets home and starts to rapidly decline over the next few days. Yesterday he died in my arms. I honestly feel like they did not get to the bottom of what was actually wrong with him. They just slapped a bandaid on and sent him on his way. Dr. Gradous was more patient and caring for animals and actually knew what he was talking about. Now it just feels like a money grab without getting down to the bottom of the health issue. My sweet baby is gone. I feel guilty because I took him to them. Please explore other options than this place if you value your pets life.
