Comprehensive Wellness and Preventative Care: This includes routine physical examinations, tailored vaccination protocols for puppies, kittens, and adult pets based on age and lifestyle, and robust parasite prevention and control. The focus is on proactive health management to ensure long-term well-being.
Advanced Diagnostic Services: The hospital is equipped with modern diagnostic tools such as in-house blood labs for quick results, digital X-rays for clear imaging of bones and internal organs, and ultrasound exams for non-invasive soft tissue assessment, aiding in accurate and timely diagnoses.
General and Soft Tissue Surgeries: An advanced surgical suite allows for safe and effective procedures, including spays, neuters, and other soft tissue surgeries. They prioritize patient safety with pre-anesthetic screening and diligent monitoring throughout the process.
Veterinary Dental Care: Comprehensive dental services are offered, including thorough oral exams, digital dental X-rays, professional cleanings, and extractions, to maintain your pet's oral hygiene and prevent systemic health issues linked to dental disease.
Emergency Care: While not a 24/7 emergency critical care facility like some larger hospitals, their experienced team is equipped to handle urgent situations during their operating hours with compassion and efficiency, providing a crucial local resource for unexpected medical needs.
In-House Pharmacy: For the convenience of pet owners, an in-house pharmacy provides immediate access to prescribed medications, ensuring your pet can start treatment without delay.
New Puppy & Kitten Care: Dedicated programs for young pets include initial exams, microchipping, nutritional counseling, and guidance on early life care.
Peaceful Goodbyes / End-of-Life Care: The hospital provides compassionate, dignified end-of-life care and euthanasia services, offering support and understanding to pet owners during these difficult moments.
Packanack Animal Hospital distinguishes itself with several key features that enhance the client and patient experience.
Fear-Free Certified Care: The hospital actively utilizes fear-free techniques to reduce stress, anxiety, and fear in pets during their visits. This approach creates a more positive and comfortable experience for animals, making vet visits less daunting for both pets and owners.
Highly Compassionate and Professional Staff: A consistent highlight in customer reviews is the kindness, understanding, and genuine compassion shown by all staff members, from receptionists to veterinary assistants and doctors. They are praised for their empathy towards both pets and their families.
Clear and Thorough Communication: The team is known for clearly explaining post-surgery instructions and answering all questions, ensuring pet parents are well-informed and confident in managing their pet's care at home. This proactive communication extends to follow-up calls after procedures.
Same-Day & Next-Day Appointments: Recognizing that pet health issues can arise unexpectedly, Packanack Animal Hospital often offers same-day and next-day appointments, allowing pets to receive timely care and feel better as quickly as possible.
Separate Feline Patient Space: To further reduce stress, especially for cats, the hospital provides a separate, quieter space specifically designed for feline patients, acknowledging their unique sensitivities.
Longevity and Trust in the Community: Having served the Wayne community for decades (established in 2008), the hospital has built a strong reputation for consistent, high-quality care, fostering long-term relationships with pet owners who trust them with generations of their beloved animals.

Packanack Animal Hospital Reviews
I have had the pleasure of having PAH close to me for over 20 years for each of my 2 cats. Everyone is professional and courteous . I have seen a variety of doctors/vets over the years and as a nurse can definitely say vets are nicer to animals than MD’s are to people. No joke.I also believe that their assistants are nicer to pets and families more than some nurses I know. And let’s not forget about the staff at the reception desk. Quick and easy to make appointments, pay bills, ask questions and call you back with answers. As mentioned above I am lucky to live close by. But if I move I’ll take the trip.

Mar 01, 2025 · lorin depintoMy family and I just moved to Pequannock and I took my 9 year old English bull dog to Packanack Animal Hospital for the first time for a routine annual visit. The entire staff and team of doctors went above and beyond in caring for Buddy. It was a hot day and he was struggling with the heat and stress of being at the vet. The team did not leave his side for over an hour while trying to get him to relax. Cooling pads, ice packs, you name it and they did it. Buddy has seen a lot of different vets in his life time and I can commit to saying that I would 1000% recommend this animal hospital to anyone with a pet.
Jun 24, 2025 · Jessica MaguireDr. Gonzaga is the most caring and compassionate.. not only for your pet but also for the family. And this also carries over from her staff. She guides you, but does not pressure you, to make the appropriate decision for your pet's treatment. Highly recommend!!
Jun 13, 2025 · Robin DwyerMy 12 year old dog has been licking her paws to the point they were almost raw. So I took her in to see what we could do. As always, we were seen quickly, listened to carefully and a prescription set up to help her with anxiety, she had lost her companion two months ago to cancer. You can't explain to a dog what has happened. He was there and then he wasn't. Hopefully the anxiety medication will help, if it doesn't we'll be back for a different solution.
