Sadly earlier this month we had to say goodbye to our dog due to a tumor, when we first found out we had gotten X-rays and had a surgery done here, the reason for the 1 star is due to the poor treatment by Dr Byers, there is no reason that I, the patient, should be having to ask on how to proceed with aftercare. On top of that they didn’t even mention if the staples from the surgery would have to come out or not or even bothered scheduling an appointment to have them removed, they didn’t provide a cone to prevent licking the surgery wound as he stated “it’s okay to let him lick his wound and the bleeding will continue”, later that week I got a cone myself for my dog as it seemed like too much blood and irritation to allow my dog to lick. It wasn’t until earlier this month the tumor had grown back and the staples were also causing excessive bleeding as they were still in his arm and again we were unaware if they would need to be removed as there was no follow up after the last check up, the surgery area was beginning to look very infected and bad so we had to take him to a different emergency vet. Sadly the next day the bleeding was too much and he just kept losing too much blood so we had to make a quick decision to take him to a vet and we decided to bring him back here as it was the closest to us but despite my dog being a patient of a recent surgery here they neglected us because they were closing in about 20 minutes despite us being only a few minutes away, forcing us having to go to a further emergency vet where we unfortunately had to make the hard decision and put him down as the suffering was too much. I urge to who ever reads this to please do your own thorough research, your animal deserves to be treated like a true family member with every love, consideration and communication possible, unfortunately we did not receive that here. - Rommel Rubio
