I’m going to sideline my anger and speak from a professional standpoint. We’ve been to this vet on multiple occasions and we’ve been treated with less than professional courtesy. A few months ago we took our cat in to have a cyst drained. We made an appointment and arrived 10 minutes early. We waited over an hour to see the vet. Being in emergency services, we understand that delays do happen, so we remained patient. The vet removed the cyst and all was fine until we saw the bill. It was extremely high considering we had the same procedure done about 3 years ago for less than half of what we were charged.Today we made an appointment for our other cat that needs the same procedure. We got stuck in traffic and arrived 15 minutes late. The receptionist immediately gave us lip about not being on-time and said that we would have to make another appointment. My wife explained the situation and asked for their compassion and understanding. She explained that our cat is in pain and needs medical attention. We booked the appointment two weeks in advance and we were greeted with distain and disrespect. This establishment’s attitude, comments, and customer service are atrocious and well below what could be considered professional. Not having a contingency plan for patients that get delayed is amateur at best. - David Hughes

For pet owners in Alameda seeking a full-service veterinary partner with a deep local history, it remains a notable option, provided they are prepared to be proactive in managing their appointment and understanding billing procedures. Its enduring presence in the community suggests that for many, the quality of medical care and range of services outweigh these operational concerns.
