Vetco Vaccination Clinic focuses on providing essential preventive care services, primarily centered around vaccinations. Their streamlined approach allows for efficient delivery of these critical health measures for your pets.
- Core Vaccinations: The clinic offers a range of core vaccinations vital for protecting dogs and cats against prevalent and dangerous diseases. For dogs, this typically includes distemper, adenovirus, parvovirus (DAPP/DHPP), and rabies. For cats, common vaccinations include feline panleukopenia, feline rhinotracheitis, and feline calicivirus (FVRCP), along with rabies.
- Non-Core Vaccinations: Depending on your pet's lifestyle and risk factors, non-core vaccinations may also be available. For dogs, this could include Bordetella (kennel cough), Leptospirosis, or Canine Influenza. For cats, options might include Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) for at-risk felines.
- Microchipping: A crucial service for pet safety, microchipping is often available to help identify your pet if they ever become lost, significantly increasing the chances of a happy reunion.
- Parasite Control: Basic parasite prevention and testing, such as deworming and heartworm testing, may also be offered to protect your pet from internal and external parasites.
- Basic Health Screenings: While not a comprehensive exam, the clinic may offer quick health checks to ensure your pet is healthy enough for vaccinations.
It is important to note that Vetco Vaccination Clinics typically do not provide emergency services, surgical procedures, advanced diagnostics, or treatment for complex illnesses or injuries. Their model is designed for targeted preventive care, making them an ideal choice for routine vaccine updates.

- Convenient and Accessible Location: Situated within a busy shopping center, the clinic offers unparalleled convenience for pet owners in Alameda and surrounding areas. This makes it easy to incorporate essential pet care into everyday errands.
- Specialized Focus on Vaccinations: The clinic's specialization in vaccinations and basic preventive care allows for a streamlined process, often leading to quicker service compared to a full-service veterinary hospital.
- Affordable Preventive Care: Vetco clinics are generally known for providing vaccination services at a more accessible price point, which can be a significant benefit for pet owners managing budgets.
- Challenges with Record Keeping and Communication: It is important for potential customers to be aware that some past customer experiences, as evidenced by the provided review, indicate issues with receiving vaccination certificates promptly via email and challenges in navigating their customer service and record-keeping systems. One customer reported significant difficulty obtaining a vaccination certificate, stating, "1 week and no email... Basically, 6 calls later I had to visit this clinic on Sunday, spend 2 hours to prove that I paid and got my pet a vaccine here just to hear that they never entered that visit in their system." This suggests that while convenient, follow-up and record verification may require proactive engagement from the pet owner.
- Potential for Rudeness in Customer Service: The same customer review mentioned that "tech- Alex Zavier was super rude, acted as if he was doing a favor and reiterated that he couldn’t do anything and I will have to wait for 12 hours." This highlights that customer service experience can vary and may require patience.

Vetco Vaccination Clinic Reviews
Got my pet a vaccine on 07/16, was told that I will get the certificate by email within 12 hours. Confirmed again after paying, tech- Alex Zavier was super rude, acted as if he was doing a favor and reiterated that he couldn’t do anything and I will have to wait for 12 hours.1 week and no email, I call vetco, they tell me that are they are different from Petco and they don’t have any facility there etc.etc.Then I call vetco and they transfer me to vetco and same story, this time they tell me that they cannot access vaccine clinics records and that they are not affiliated with vetco.Basically, 6 calls later I had to visit this clinic on Sunday, spend 2 hours to prove that I paid and got my pet a vaccine here just to hear that they never entered that visit in their system.Don’t know what’s going to happen next, I cannot vaccinate my dog twice because that’s lethal, cannot board her or take her to meetups because there is no record of that vaccine. Thanks you petco/vetco.
